Got parts right away and cleaned up much rust. Really impressed with professionalism. James explained every aspect of the repair and underbilled his time. He test drove the car and gave me the old parts. I strongly recommend this centre and would take all my business there if I lived in or near Truro. There was absolutely no sales pressure, they treated me like a valued customer and got me into the car of my dreams. They didn't let me feel like I was wasting time while I was being indecisive and didn't treat me like I didn't know what I wanted, even though at the time I didn't haha. I've been taking my car to be serviced there ever since and I have always gotten 5 star service. From having to have my car towed after I blew a tire (100% my fault) to having my car detailed. I recently got my car in to be "road trip ready" as I'm making the move south and they did an amazing job at detailing my car. They even fixed the squeaky door which I didn't mention, but meant to bring up. I've always been treated to 5 star service by the staff at Bob Allen's and I can only hope I can find a garage like this one in my new town.

We called two days ahead and booked a service for right when we were riding through. They got it done quickly and expertly and showed us where a good coffee shop was. Days later, on the way back through, we needed to replace a back tire. We called ahead, and they had the tire shipped in, ready and waiting when we rolled in. We were out in under an hour. They even gave us sale price on the tire. These folks are competent, accommodating, and friendly. Can't ask for more.

Now, Nfld. is a…read morewonderful province, but the roads leave something to be desired, and by the time we got to New Glasgow the cumulative effect of driving on them had become apparent, as the bottom was falling out of our Mazda 5. The mechanic at V-Filling Station interrupted his other job to take off the plastic plate underneath the engine, assuring us that it was not essential to running the car. He charged us all of $20 for this; for added embarrassment neither of us had any Canadian money, and he didn't mind that I paid with US$. "I have to go to the bank some time!" he said. This was truly a travel-angel experience. The retro decorative touches in the office were also very cool.
