We stayed at the Hotel Neptuno in Playa del Ingles for two nights, half board…read more
When we arrived we was greeted by a lovely gentleman who welcomed us to the hotel. He offered us a glass of Cava each which was a nice gesture. He checked us in and told us we had a room on the 5th floor overlooking the pool, i had sent emails to the hotel requesting for this so i was pleased we had the request granted. I asked about a possible upgrade to All inclusive, so the gentleman asked the lady behind reception and was told a firm NO! She also didn't look that friendly to be honest! Not the best welcome we have ever had but the guy who worked there was really nice.
We got to the room and was was expecting a nice welcome of a card or a bottle of wine welcoming us to the hotel due to me contacting the hotel before we arrived telling them that we was really looking forward to our stay at the Neptuno but was told this was ONLY for repeat guests, well thanks for the welcome!
The rooms are nice and modern though and we had a great view of the pool and the Yumbo centre, the beds are really uncomfortable though and the pillows was really light, the bed also creaked and moved away from the wall every time you got in it, so two bad nights sleep followed by the thumping music from the Yumbo, yes i know what the proximity it is to the Yumbo so i should have known about the music levels, ear plugs are provided but didn't make much difference.
The pool area is lovely with many sun beds and never had a problem getting one, there is also a nice sized pool and a slide.
The dining restaurant was the best though with awesome quality food at Breakfast and Dinner with great service, we never encountered having to sit on another table with someone else though, i guess this only happens when the hotel is full.
The Hotel Neptuno is in a fantastic location with a back gate next to the pool right into the Yumbo centre which was very useful.
We did feel that some of the Hotel areas could really do with getting revamped though especially the bar area near the restaurant and the lobby was a little bit tired.
The outside of the Hotel was a bit old fashioned and could also do with a makeover but most of the Hotels in Playa del Ingles look like this.
It was just an ok stay nothing that special unfortunately.
