In the mid 1980's, it was switched to its contemporary name of 100 Grand. Being a creation of the 1960's, the name was likely inspired by the quiz style game shows that were all the rage. Initially the candy bar was a single piece, but along with the name change came the decision to split it into two pieces. As far as I can tell, there's no difference between two fun sized 100 Grand bars and the two bars in the standard sized bar wrapping. The bars contain chewy caramel and crispy crunchies, all coated in milk chocolate. I love the sweetness and chew from the caramel. If you pop the whole thing in your mouth at once, it will keep your jaws working for quite some time. All the crispy crunchies provide a nice crunch that protects the consumer's senses from monotony with all that caramel. Peanut butter is just about the only thing missing from this one that could make it better. Highly underrated and one of my oldest favorites, what is Doughboy approved ? I first had their chocolates in Zürich so, I made sure I grab some more when I got to Lausanne. It's a few minutes away from Place de la Palud and Lausanne Cathedral in an area with lots of nice shops, cafes and restaurants. It's a very busy and crowded area. The lady behind the counter was attentive and friendly. She was giving the customers she's helping where they're from so she can connect with them. As she did with us and the people in front of us in line. She was giving us free samples and a bag of free chocolates after buying a lot of chocolates. The store was out of boxes so, you have to get the pre-selected boxes from the shelves. If you want specific truffles, she'll put them in a paper bag. I got multiple truffles: Maracaibo, pistachio, cafe, centenaire, tea time, milk chocolate and the heart shaped truffles (I can't remember what kind it was). They have Absinthe truffles that I didn't get to try in Zürich that I was still hesitant to try in Lausanne. They have chocolate bars from different cacao sources from Dominican Republic, South America, and Africa. Aside from chocolates, they also have fruit jellies.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly host who guided us through their entire selection of chocolate as well as what chocolate Switzerland was known for. He was also kind enough to let us all sample 2 chocolates. Our group ended up buying 40+ pieces across the 4 of us, which we readily consumed over the next 2 days. Each piece was as rich and unique as was described, and certainly gave us a good start to our Switzerland chocolate experience.

Washing powder was around only 1.95 euros for a small pack which was perfect for one person for a few weeks. I didn't personally experience it but my friends had a problem a few times with the fact that they accept francs but only notes not coins and you have to weigh and put a sticker on any fruit (even if it had a sticker and the sticker is ripped).

A depressing and disorganized supermarket…read more When traveling in strange locations and you need to get some basic groceries, you don't expect much from a supermarket, but this was a particular disaster that was I wouldn't believe was possible if it hasn't happened o me. I picked up 6 items, and two of them were mispriced as the checkout counter showed prices that were double and triple of the sale price on the rack. I was in a rush and told the cashier to take them off and she had to get a manager to come by, what can you do but wait? At least I had water and juice and some disposable shavers but when I got back to my hotel, the peach Nectar tasted strange and sure enough, it had expired. Every fairy tale must close with a happy ending and every disaster must have a proper plot twist. I discovered that the disposable shavers i boight were also overpriced by 3 euros... If someone knows the people at Carrefour, have them check the price database of this store, there's too many wrong prices for it to be just a random oversight.
