It was the tastiest and most unctuous chocolate ice cream I've ever tasted. I coupled the chocolate with a dairy-free basil sorbet, delicious too with a savory twist to it. The staff is really friendly, we were waited on fast. They have two locations within 300m distance. They have frozen yogurt higher on the street, while they concentrate on ice cream at this location. They have gluten-free, dairy-free ice cream, depending on the flavor.

We were on our way to Lausanne and needed a quick place for lunch. This establishment was ideal for that purpose as it was at a roadside stop on A9. It was situated in a nice area with surrounding mountains. The retail shop was in the front of the facility while the restaurant was in the rear. The dining room was quite comfortable and informal and there was a shaded porch for outdoor eating. It was a beautiful day so we opted to dine outside. It was not busy so we were able to be seated quickly. We were brought our menus right away but the server then disappeared and did not return. We waited for about ten or twelve minutes and then my colleague had to track her down. We were finally able to place our orders but this was a bit annoying since we had a train to catch after lunch. My colleagues had the Steak Tartar and the Vegetable Curry. They both were satisfied with their meals. I had a Chicken Curry dish that was actually quite lovely. I was certainly happy enough with my meal. The prices were not bad making it a decent value. Overall, this restaurant serves a purpose. As a roadside stop, it is a convenient place to pull off if you need a quick meal. The food is pretty good and the prices are not bad. The ambiance is informal and the location surrounded by mountains is its best feature. My only real complaint is that the service leaves a bit to be desired. But it is not a bad choice if you want a meal but need to make it a quick stop.

They're owned by Nestle now but they've still yet to return to my home. Recently when I was at the Bataclan in Paris at a party I noticed a small fridge where there was a girl passing out their ice cream. Holy cow! I had not seen this ice cream in so long! However, Vevey also houses a Laderach store, a family-owned chocolatier and considered the premium chocolatier in Switzerland (kind of like an anti-Nestle, I like to think). At any rate, I've been searching for a high-quality boutique chocolatier ever since my favorite Belgian one (Manon) sadly closed a number of years ago. Nothing has ever matched Manon's standard imo - until I tried Laderach. It is very very good and very similar to what I had with Manon. I chose an assortment of Laderach's chocolates and truffles - and they had a terrific assortment such that I agonized and despaired over which ones to select - and brought them carefully home in my carry-on. My wife and I ceremoniously opened the box, partook of a couple each - and omg, what fine chocolates these are! Rich buttercream fillings, strong coffee flavors, dusky dusty truffles - can't wait to return for more! I hear they've opened a store in New York City, so will be checking that out over the holidays!

Manor is FAR nicer than a Macy's, but must more reasonably priced than a Nordstrom.....and it comes with a very lovely, warm feel throughout. I could have spent many, many hours here, but settled for just one....suitcase space is always an issue! Nice quality, lots of variety, easy to navigate. Check it out!

Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly host who guided us through their entire selection of chocolate as well as what chocolate Switzerland was known for. He was also kind enough to let us all sample 2 chocolates. Our group ended up buying 40+ pieces across the 4 of us, which we readily consumed over the next 2 days. Each piece was as rich and unique as was described, and certainly gave us a good start to our Switzerland chocolate experience.
