The appointment started off uncomfortably when the stylist next to me overheard what I do for a living (title insurance) and commented that I work in "legalized extortion." Not only was this wildly inappropriate, it made me feel awkward and judged right from the start. I had a thorough consultation with my stylist and we agreed that to achieve the look I wanted--light ends contrasting with a deeper base--I'd need a full lightening service rather than the partial that was originally quoted. I agreed to the upcharge with the expectation that I'd get the desired result. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. Instead of a smooth, dimensional color, I ended up with chunky highlights, a grown-out root look, and ends that are still noticeably darker than the base. It looks like a rushed job and not at all the intentional contrast we discussed. To make things worse, there are two very obvious bright white spots at my hairline where toner was completely missed. I brought this up when I got home and noticed it (Avery really should have caught them when washing or styling my hair, they're quite obvious) and the stylist did offer to fix it, but her availability didn't line up with mine. I explained that I couldn't take another hour and a half off work to come in during the week, given the 30+ minute drive each way, which she knows because we live near each other. Rather than showing understanding, she got defensive and told me it wouldn't take long and that I should reach out to the salon owner if I had further concerns. The one bright spot in all this (well, other than the 2 in my hairline) is that the haircut turned out well, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. But overall, this was a frustrating experience with results I'm unhappy with and a lack of professionalism I didn't expect from a salon at this price point. I won't be returning.

She is soo kind and skilled beyond my past hairdressers in Jacksonville. I received beautiful highlights and some lowlights to build dimension. Then, she convinced me ( nudge nudge smile) to change my part to the other side and shaped / cut my hair to my face shape and styled my hair to accommodate the fine hair. Keratin complex was " supposedly" applied by Zoe #904 but my hair became frizzy, knotty and her application left a sticky substance in my hair. . She put my bag and sweatshirt on the floor! The room was dirty, unkept and she refused to refund the charge even though she failed at administering it. She's young, bragging the entire time she was doing my hair about how much money she's making per hour. She lacks discipline and integrity. She lacks sophistication. I received a text from Brooke from Ray of Blonde (it took me by surprise she got my number) to set up an appt with her. She was very kind and set up an appt after going over a few possible dates. She had an availability the next day at 1:30. We texted about what I wanted which was low maintenance balayage, lived in blonde. I confirmed I only wanted partial, no haircut because my hair is very healthy. I get to my appt with the kids and we talk about what I wanted again to confirm. I wanted to keep my roots natural so it's not high maintenance. She asked if I wanted a partial or full and again I said partial. They had lots of refreshments and snacks which were awesome. Kept my kids busy, and my blood sugar balanced so that was cool. So we get foils in, do the toner, and I noticed my hair is still yellow even though she said it was "a really pretty ash." I'm a natural darker golden blonde so my hair lifts fine and tones as well. The pics I showed her and what I explained I wanted were for sure not any yellow or gold. That was the point of lifting the ends with a little bit of bleach as well. So we go back to the hair wash area and do toner again. It worked!! So it just needed more time. I'm glad I spoke up because I can't imagine it being more gold than it is now. I'm giving 2 stars for 2 reasons: 1. I've never had to double tone my hair at a salon because it always is toned the shade I ask for the first time. She also didn't give me what I asked for and did more to charge more. I notice most people at the salon have more yellow blonde but I was very specific that I don't like that because I have so much gold in my hair it needs to be more ash. Not to mention how often highlights require maintenance. 2. I'm from California which is way higher cost for everything and have gone to amazing stylists, never have I ever paid over $250 for a partial even with root smudge, toner, and styling which is pretty standard for hair these days. I didn't even get a haircut and it was $325. I did tip her $50 because she was very kind and accommodating when it wasn't the color I wanted, even though what I wanted should've been automatic. I think she was trying to be careful since it was her first time doing my hair. It looks okay but not the best it's ever been. Update: I actually just washed my hair for the first time and it is not low maintenance, there's full on highlights and I'm pretty upset with how golden it is. Maybe she didn't use high enough volume peroxide but it's a dark gold blonde in the highlights by my roots that I didn't want and it's way too gold/yellow which is none of what I wanted. I guess she just kept foiling my hair not thinking about what we talked about before she started or texted about previously. It's really not cool, especially since I asked for something wayyyy low maintenance that shouldn't have taken so long or cost $325. Now I have to wait for it to grow out and pay someone else to fix this.

I was told the total would be $240, but when my card was processed the charge appeared as $288, which included a tip that I did not realize had been added at the time. After the appointment, I tried to communicate about the situation. However, I received a message from the stylist asking me not to contact her again, as she considered further messages to be harassment. After that, communication stopped. I returned to the salon hoping to speak with someone in charge and find a solution, but I was unable to discuss the situation further. Yesterday I visited another salon hoping to correct the color. They told me they could not safely do anything at this time because my hair appears to have already been lightened twice and is now very over-processed. I was advised to wait about 4-6 months before any color correction can be attempted safely. At this point, I am left with hair that has multiple uneven tones and cannot be corrected right away. Important note: When a client experiences serious damage to their hair and there is no apology or attempt to discuss a solution, it leaves many questions about how such situations are handled.

When I first met Carlos, the owner, he even acknowledged how beautiful my hair was. My appointment was simple: a root touch-up and a trim. That's it. Instead, I left with hair two tones darker, no balayage, and no highlights at all. Carlos only cut my bangs (not the trim I had asked for), and my once natural, sun-kissed color was completely covered up. After washing, I immediately mentioned to him that my hair looked much darker, but he brushed it off saying, "It's just because it's wet." When it dried, it looked even darker -- I said something again, and he dismissed me by saying it would "lighten up over time, maybe." The most frustrating part? He justified his decision by saying my hair looked "brassy" -- but there are so many professional techniques to correct brassiness without eliminating balayage or going so dark. Instead of honoring my request, he made a choice for me -- one that erased months of effort and left me heartbroken. For me, this was more than just a color mistake, and waste of time and money. It was a breach of trust. When you sit in a stylist's chair, you expect to be heard and respected, not ignored or overridden. Especially as busy moms, we rely on professionals to do what we ask -- not what they decide for us. Now I'm left with dark hair I never wanted, no balayage, and the added burden of finding another salon to fix it, at the expense of damaging my hair. She was able to get me in early on a Saturday morning and did such a great job! She is personable, funny, and makes the time fly by. The salon is simple but pretty, and all the women are sweet and personable. They have snacks, coffee, soda, and water for refreshments. There were a constant stream of people coming in for a variety of services, so it was apparent they do well for themselves. When you check in on Yelp, you get $10 off your service!
