I also needed a Dr. to sign a clearance form in order to begin driving. After this office wasted months of my life attempting to get appointments, calling almost daily.. I finally saw Dr. Pulicken. He was extremely rude and didn't listen to a single thing I had to say. Kept a strict appointment time and tried to prescribe the standard medication even though I wasn't having recurring seizures. Why would I take a medication for a problem that I'm not even having? Especially when the side effects are psychosis and suicidal thoughts. When I tried to ask for alternatives he mentioned I could take a 3 Day EEG test(which cost my insurance thousands of dollars). I did the test and then he told me I had no signs of epilepsy and did not need to start on a medication. At this point it had been 10 months since I had a seizure. He then filled out the paperwork to reinstate my license, but filled it out saying I was at risk for recurring events ...so they wouldn't give me my license back. I've been without a license for a year now.. and haven't even had any seizures. He toyed with my life, wasted so much of my time, and my insurances money. I couldn't reschedule appointments to talk with him and he tried to pawn me off to another neurologist after he could no longer make any money from seeing me. If you are looking for help here you will find none. You will find money hungry doctors that will not respond to you and will treat you like complete dirt and walk all over you. If you have the choice to go to this office.. do not make that mistake. Although I doubt you can get an appointment because they don't call back.

Caring and gentle, he listens, a rare commodity these days of five minute visits with a hastily written prescription being the norm. His diagnostic skills have lessened my neurological difficulties, which in turn has enhanced the quality of my life. My only criticism of Dr Abokhamis is he speaks very quickly, and often I need to tell him to slow down. For those from the vinyl age, he is a 78 and I am a 33 1/3. His assistant Alessandra, whom one sees first, is gentle, understanding and takes excellent notes. She has a very reassuring way, and has helped me through a very difficult neurological crisis. The office staff at the front are efficient in checking in and out. The office runs pretty much on time and here my only complaint would be having that infernal television noise. It was explained to me that it creates "white noise", thus giving those checking in and out an "additional layer of privacy". Something is either private or not and in this world, the only thing that is private is the thought inside your brain and which you have not uttered. Unfortunately the ubiquitous television is in all medical offices so I will wait in my car until the medical staff are ready for me.

Probably the best Dr I have ever been to…read more I have been seeing Dr Moodie for the past 3 or 4 years for a neurological condition. She's thorough, smart and has a very pleasant bedside manner. Appointments are never rushed, and every time I walk in, she is on top of my previous appointments, symptoms, test results, etc. In other words; she does her homework, takes the time to know her patients and genuinely seems to care. I have been doing very well since under her treatment, and pretty much, all credit goes to her her for keeping me ambulatory these past few years. Initially, I was probably not the best patient. As likely true with most any drug(s)/treatment, sometimes they can come along with a certain amount of risk for some nasty, sometime serious side effects. Dr Moodie has always made me aware of this--and not once was I pressured, or rushed into making a decision on any particular treatment. She always gave me the facts, urged me to look into it, and I was the one who ultimately who made the decision. I'd highly recommend her, and hope she never relocates.

It was very busy so I had to stay in the hallway, and even though it was still a great attentive ordeal. Matt was checking on me and making sure I was doing good. I had been hit by a car while I was in the crosswalk it was a terrorizing thing that happened to me. The next afternoon I was brought up to a ward with many beds, and again I was given the best care by the nurses, Mary and Laura. I felt as though I was the only patient that they each had. Your Nurses are the best ever, at South Shore Hospital. Thank you so much to everyone that I met on 12/10/22 and 12/11/22

First Do No Harm South Shore Hospital in Weymouth…read moreMassachusetts must learn and remember the first and most sacred rule in medicine - First Do No Harm: On a cold morning on December 2, 2024, at 6:00AM in the morning, I brought my one and only sibling to South Shore Hospital for very important and much-awaited surgery. He was using his walker and walked though the revolving door entrance to the main lobby. As he walked through, the door malfunctioned and grabbed his arm, squashing it against the side of the frame and the hydraulically moving door panel. This was witnessed by the SSH personnel at the front desk who immediately summoned security personnel. They were both very helpful and directed us to go straight to the ER for treatment. They BOTH relayed that the door had been a consistent problem and my brother was not the first person to be injured. They both stated they had requested (on several occasions) that the door be repaired - or, at the very least, a warning sign erected. Nothing had been done by the time my brother was injured. Currently, South Shore Hospital is refusing to help my brother or offer any type of consideration. The hospital's insurance company was notified of the incident immediately and the blatant negligence of the hospital was described and memorialized. The cold-hearted, non-caring, disrespectful treatment by the hospital has been stunning. Beware if you go to South Shore Hospital expecting good care or assistance.

I went to south shore hospital in April. And I chose the neurologist office in weymouth because Boston is out of the question for me due to transportation issues etc. And I told them that from the beginning. So I went and the doctor I had didn't take my symptoms seriously ( waited an hour in the waiting room before I was seen) anyways he asked me a bunch of questions told him everything I'm going through and he pretty much said I was fine. I know I'm not so he said I can do testing. So the receptionist said Boston. And i told her I can not do Boston and she said that they'll call me back to see if I can get one in Braintree instead. That was July 26th. And I waited for the call, nothing so I called August 8th to see the update and they " didn't know what I was talking about " I got someone with a thick foreign accent and with my bad hearing I couldn't understand her. Then she finally knew what I was saying and she looked at my situation and she said they already referred me and would call back. So about an hour later I got another call from another lady with a thick foreign accent and she said they made an appointment for me ( without my chosing the day or time) they made it for a day I'm going to be out if state. So I told them I couldn't. And then she asked me if the week before would be OK I said ok but I asked her if it's the Braintree location and she said no Boston. And u told her AGAIN I can't do Boston and she said that they'll have someone call me from the weymouth office to figure it out so a nurse from the weymouth location called. And I could understand what ahe was saying no accent this time and I told her everything so she said she will leave a message for the receptionist to call to see if they can work something out so I waited and then the next morning I got a phone call from the office but Boston number they called when I couldn't get to the phone so I called that number back and I said that I was waiting for a call from the weymouth location to work out testing location and she said she had no clue what I was talking about ( she called me) so I found an alternative number and called that and they still said I could only do Boston. So I am out of luck and stuck suffering with my symptoms. They also canceled my follow-up for September in the weymouth office which I didn't want them to do. Wanted to keep. So I just said forget it. Frustrating.

Well, after visiting with my Orthopedic, starting PT, amongst other irritants, nothing was working, it was getting worse. An MRI was finally ordered and he instantly informed me this was out of his area, Neurologist was a must. So, MRI, per my Orthopedics recommendation, was sent to Neurological Consultants, specifically, Dr. Marc Friedberg. The practice itself is very clean, nicely located directly behind Norwood Hospital. My first visit, I was greeted nicely by the receptionist, who promptly took all my information and I sat and waited to be called. The waiting area is very large, plenty of periodicals to choose from if need be. I was called right on time and went in to meet the Doctor. Dr. Friedberg is very personable, efficient but most of all, an excellent Doctor. He thoroughly went over my MRI and explained I had a ruptured disc in my C5 and C6. We felt PT and an epi shot would do the trick. well, NOTHING worked. I had to be pulled out of work, I lost feeling at times in my thumb and left pointer finger on my left hand. I could NOT sleep, we are talking three full months, I was just in agony. We finally decided on surgery and it was the best decision I could have made. The surgery was conducted in August 2011 and I am doing well. Even the day of surgery, I felt very comfortable with Dr. Friedberg. The surgery went extremely well. Dr. Friedberg is extremely attentive to his patients needs, he is clearly caring and up to date on all the latest technologies. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Friedberg for any neurological needs you may have. The only down side, often have to wait 15-20 minutes past scheduled appointment times. I have a feeling this is typical in many DR practices though, he is very busy, but he is fantastic. I arrived Friday about 25 minutes in advance to fill out paperwork & when finished, I was promptly brought into a cheerful, brightly lit examining/testing room. The RNP (who I THINK was Kathleen: I really, really wish I could recall her name!) was amazingly sweet and went over everything I should anticipate from both exams. Dr. L'Europa popped in briefly to quickly feel around my wrist before the RNP took over for the nerve conduction study. She was completely professional and caring while performing the procedure (which, I'll be honest, wasn't painful in the least. It felt like a TENS unit on super low) and had a great conversation with me to pass the time while doing so. Afterwards, the doctor came back in who then performed the oh-so-scary EMG. ....this test literally lasted all of two minutes and despite all the horror stories easily read online and by word of mouth, it was pain-free. The "worst" sensation were slight pricks where the needles were inserted however he was so fast and gentle it was over before I could sneeze. I 100% recommend Dr. L'Europa for those needing EMG/nerve testing. After having a brief conversation with him, as well as research online, I'm convinced that the individuals who were literally tortured during the testing, unfortunately were 'cared' for by inexperienced technicians or medical students instead of the actual doctor. It's also worth adding that their facilities are so pretty and welcoming! Much different than intimidating, white walled examination rooms.
