However, even on the first day, his teacher and the staff there made us feel so welcome and at ease. His teacher, Mrs. Kelby is so kind and warm. It was obvious that she would take great care of him which made it so much easier to drop him off. They send pictures and updates on how his day is going which makes being away from him a little bit easier. She is so amazing at making sure he gets plenty of naps, meals, and tummy time! For background, we've had our son in two other daycares over the years. One was cheaper but would send kids home randomly with a 'temperature' just so they could cut staff for the day. You could set your calendar as to when you'd get the call about an imaginary ailment at 2-3p in the afternoon. And our son still is panicked we might take him to the other daycare we tried. They'd just put him in the corner with little to no interaction.

We also love the staff (especially Brooklyn, Dalynn, & Fox!), who have only ever shown our son genuine love & care. There were some issues throughout the year with staff turnover and less than ideal communication about a few incidents at the daycare. However, since the owner (Jen) has taken over as director of the center, we've seen an incredible change for the better. Jen is very hands-on and always coming up with new activities and curriculum. It's easy to see how much she loves being with kids and wants to see them do well. She is present, communicative, and someone we really trust.

To be honest, reading one of these negative views gets my blood boiling because Katie works so hard to give/provide the best possible experience and atmosphere for our children and her staff. Katie is a BOSS LADY because she has has built her business from the ground up and to be honest if it were a man we were talking about no one would be questioning it. Women need to be lifting other women up not trying to tear them apart. Also, Katie is more direct then most so because she is direct and has strict policy on sickness/illness (to protect her and the school from liability) she is now seen as a rude?!! My kids have had Hand foot, Mouth, pink eye, etc. so we have had to take our kids out for days and weeks at a time. Unfortunately, that is part of the drill when your kids go to daycare/school. They are going to get sick sometimes more often especially if they are new. And believe me it's hard working with your kids home but if your kids are sick or have a contagious bug then no matter what school they are at you would have to keep them home. What I really want to emphasize is that the teachers are happy and you can tell they are part of a family there and I feel that way too. Katie and Wendy are always available; their door is always open if I need to discuss anything but I find myself sharing our lives and all the positive things my kiddos are doing and learning. Leaving your children everyday in the care of someone else is scary and hard to do. I have had family help raising my children, previous day care facilities, an in home facility and school so I know all facets of this industry. That said, I have an almost 2 year old and a 5 year old at Katie's (my oldest is in 1st grade) and we feel good dropping them off EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. My kids are loved and celebrated. They are taught to be kind, respectful and overall good humans which is hard to come by in this day and age. I love that they have a controlled entry system at the front door and cameras watching every area. Inside, the classrooms are large, bright, clean, and decked out with quality, developmentally appropriate furnishings and playthings. The outside areas are well-equipped and fenced. The employees are very friendly and made my son feel at ease immediately. The tuition is (what I believe to be) a bargain for such quality. I also appreciate that it is a peanut-free zone, since my son may have an allergy. A nice extra - they offer optional activities (with fees) such as soccer, dance, and music. Nature's Childcare staff and the entire business made me feel very comfortable with going back to work. There is video monitoring in each room (not viewable from my work computer, which I actually prefer) so if there is an event, it can be reviewed. The center is secure and entire staff is well trained. The management are VERY aware of what is going on in each room and the communication between staff and parent is excellent. Each room has 'Teachers' and they actually teach, which I am always impressed with. I now have three children in Nature's Childcare and wouldn't dare go anywhere else for childcare.
