Okay, I think I found my new favorite spot for breakfast in town. The BF always likes to eat breakfast out and we hadn't tried this one yet so we tried it today and man, was it good!!! We were both served sizable glasses of tasty orange juice. I tried the #2 breakfast plate - huevos rancheros - which consisted of two fried eggs served over medium (is that the term for runny centers?), topped with a very delicious red salsa (woohoo, watch that salsa; it's got a bite!!!), tasty refried beans and perfectly-cooked shredded hashbrowns. You have a choice of meat (the bacon was crisp and tasty) and choice of flour or corn tortilla. The flour tortilla was good but disappointingly crunchy. BF opted for the chorizo and egg plate (#6) with hash browns, beans and choice of tortilla. He kept saying things like, "Wow, this is the GOOD chorizo; this stuff has TASTE and it's not all greasy." and "They did the beans RIGHT!" and "This bacon is cooked exactly the way I like it." In addition to tasty food and good presentation, the restaurant was cozy and clean, the waitstaff was attentive, there was nice Mexican music playing and the place was full of locals. They refused to assist our large party in finding a table and when asked if they wanted our business they said "It doesn't matter." Dammmmnnnn!!! The pancakes are so freaking amazing and good. Best pancakes I've ever had from anywhere. Owner and staff are very friendly. Great place all around. I highly recommend you stop off of hwy 100 before you head to the Island or anywhere. LOVE IT!! read more

Recently we visited this place. When you walk in the smell of old hits you. The water was served and had to be returned. The water did not look clear. We heard a neighboring table say they tasted dirt. There was a smell of a fu manchu coming from the kitchen. You have to add alot of sugar to your tea. Be easier to have sweet tea. The parking is terrible. You can get towed since the place is very limited. Terrible location and not so great food selections. Wont come back. read more

My husband and I stopped in on our way back home to Dallas from S. Padre. This place has the best food and wonderful service! We eat nothing but Mexican food and the food here was beyond amazing as well as the service. They were fast and the food was fresh! Sadly, we did not get to experience this place that has good ratings. There were 8 of us and they said they had no tables even though there were many tables that could be put together. Lady did not greet us when we walked in and we had no idea if we could sit ourselves. She was rude and when I asked if we could combine the tables she said no. We walked out. I had the worst service in this restaurant. I would never go back or recommend it to anybody. I went in sat down and ordered then two men came and sat themselves in my table. They refused to leave my table and the waitress told me to move even though I had already been sitting there beforehand drinking my orange juice. These "regulars" at this restaurant continued to harass me. Waitress never asked them to leave and I had to leave. Waitress and staff witnessed everything and said they come here all the time so we can't do anything. It's a joke of a restaurant. read more

I have breakfast here every time I visit my parents who live in Los Fresnos. My favorite breakfast choice is the chorizo w/egg breakfast tacos. Chorizo is not greasy and the beans are delicious. Their salsa is one of the best I've tasted! Highly recommend for breakfast if you're passing through on your way to or from SPI. read more

Caught a waitress sampling my husbands menudo before serving it to him with her spoon still in the bowl. Haven't been back since!
