They had my dog for almost 8 hours and did not finish him. He has been groomed for over 5 years; this is not my dog's first rodeo. I picked him up early because it wasn't fair to torture him because they can't do their job. I was fair. I paid the full amount and tipped well. The groomer told me to come back and he would finish. When I brought my dog back to get his toenails clipped, they charged $35!! I asked them about it, and they said the policy requires they charge. Do not take your dog unless you want to pay a huge amount of money for them to torture your dog and do a terrible job. read more

Avoid if you have an Aussie. I asked for a bath and comb out with a small hygiene V clip under the tail. Instead, they shaved the long hair off all 4 legs, and shaved his entire rear end into a square. Aussie's are notes for long beautiful hair, and my dog no longer looks like one. I hope it grows back by next year without damage to what was a gorgeous coat, but am worried about permanent damage to his coat. This must be why they ask for a tip before you see your dog. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Animal Clinic East. Last January I started taking my Doberman to see Dr. Williams and was a consistent visitor until unfortunately, my dobe passed away from an auto immune disease in July. I can definitely say that I have experienced Animal Clinic East and there was not a single time that I took my dog in that I was not treated with kindness by the wonderful ladies up front, had all my questions answered by Dr. Williams (very knowledgeable) and had my dog well taken care of by the techs who drew blood, did laser therapy, clipped his toenails. Everything. They were all fantastic! If Dr. Williams was on his day off and I needed anything, there was always an answer for me that day and I never had to wait. They truly operate as a team. They also do drop ins so if your pet isn't feeling well you can get them in that day to be seen. They have a wonderful pet app that allows you to refill your pets medicines, schedule appointments and receive reminders about your appointments with ease. You can also upload a picture of your pet to the app, which if you are a proud pet parent you will love this feature! I also boarded my dogs there and was completely at ease leaving them in their care. I have gone through the unfortunate of having to put your pet to sleep and they are so respectful and give you as much time as you need (never enough). I received many hugs from staff and I felt that they loved my dog just as much as I did. Our two Shih-Tzu puppy people (well? they are family!) have been in care of Animal Clinic East for several years now. Their primary care provider is Dr. Brooke Cox. She's seen them grow from puppyhood to senior citizen status. She's their doctor and knows her patients very well. She has been a caring and kind provider, whether delivering us great news about the pups or helping us learn how to watch them age, complete with all the complications we experience with advancing age. "Doc Cox" and the entire team are appreciably professional, but also given to kindly spirit and great empathy. The facility where this team practices is welcoming, bright and clean (and importantly, odorless). The staff also look out for families on budgets and will tell you (without being prompted) when their discounts and specials are upcoming so that services like oral cleaning can be a little bit easier to absorb, and that's important to people living on fixed incomes! When our human children visit from out of town and have pet emergencies, they've been equally welcomed at ACE and treated like family in the practice. All told, for us, if someone just arrived in town and had a need for an animal care care professional, they'd get our unreserved and immediate recommendation to get to Animal Clinic East. Nobody does it better (and our puppies are so much the better because of that.) read more

Recently my old husky had a long toenail and she was limping because of it. We took her in and they said it was fine, just keep trimming it. 6 months later she is still limping. We take her to Associated Vet, they put her under to take a look and her whole toe bone has liquefied. It could potentially be cancer, I just found out today so we haven't had a chance to biopsy it. I just wish we could have acted 6 months ago! Less concerning, but I called to ask if they treated reptiles and they said yes, I get to my appointment and the vet tells me he had an iguana at his clinic in the 90's and that was the extent of his experience. Why lie? I found an exotics vet in Pasco and they actually helped my bearded dragon. Animal Clinic East just gave me suggestions that I had already Googled and tried. Update, the toe had a small cancerous tumor. Associated is hopeful they got it all, it would have been smaller 6 months ago! read more

I have always taken my pets here and have received great care. The other night my cat, Brinley, totally lost the use of his back leg. They got me right in. I was very anxious but felt calmer just going in there by the kindness they show. I was encouraged to call anytime I felt like I needed to and when I did they were so patient and accommodating. While Brinley was there Dr. Mattis examined him and ran tests he needed to have done. When I picked him up Dr. Mattice was very thorough and clear in explaining what had been done, all the results, and what would need to be done for Brinley. Unfortunately Brinley has heart disease and high blood pressure, and had had a blood clot, but I can trust that his future care is in the best hands possible. I had bad service from the grooming center next door to the vet facility, and wish that I had read these reviews before taking my dog there. I paid $65 for a glorified bath and some trimming around his bum- I asked for him to be trimmed up and upon seeing him thought that not enough had been done but didn't want to offend the groomer. Two days later I found a pretty big knot around his ear that could not have formed in two days, called to discuss a possible touch up with the groomer and was met with an immediate aggression and rude behavior. Ultimately I hung up on her when she tried to get me to buy another bath before she'd retouch him. I am very disappointed in this place, I had heard a few good things about it from friends at the dog park, however my last piece of advice to anyone is dont go to Animal Clinic East's grooming center. I have also taken one of my dogs to Happy Tails and had a much better experience, Happy Tails is cash or check only, but she charges about $10-20 less and does a great job. read more

I've had questionable service from this facility. A few months ago I had my daughter walk out dog to the clinic since we live so close. The vet saw our dog but missed an ear infection so we did not receive treatment for this. About two weeks later I received a nasty voicemail stating that they were sending me to collections if I did not pay immediately. I have no problems paying my bills, but I had yet to receive one. So I called the clinic and the receptionist was extremely rude to me stating that they do not send bills. How m I suppose to know what I need to pay? I resolve the situation by paying my bill in full immediately after receiving a bill so I know and understand the charges. The second problem I've had was calling to schedule for routine shots. I was told that I would have to pay an exam fee for both of my dogs. I was willing to have one seen since she is still experiencing major ear problems but feel like the other is unnecessary. I argue this point for a while but eventually give up and ask for a refill on the ear drops. When I went in to pick them up, they were wanting to charge me double the price since the last time I purchased, a year ago. I will be looking for a different vet, even though I was hoping to see this one in person so I could discuss the poor customer service I had received. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. read more

We moved here from Texas in 2019. We have a now 10 year old Shih-Tzu. He has severe anxiety and has to be sedated to have a hair cut. Animal Clinic east was the least expensive place around to do this. After about the second time of taking him in I noticed he was being over sedated. It would take almost a week for him to come out of it. I know his age has some to do with it but I never had this issue before. So the next time I took him in I asked them to not use so much. When I went to pick him up that time he apartment had potty in his kennel before I got there. They told me they had to re-bathe him because he had poop on him. When I picked him up and got him home I noticed there was STILL poop on him which also had gotten on my clothes. Then I noticed several spots of hair that they had missed. I called a little over a week ago to schedule him another appointment (against my better judgement). The person I scheduled his appointment with told me he was due for a Senior Exam. I specifically said I DO NOT WANT THE SENIOR EXAM just the medical shave. They salad okay. Dropped him off this morning and picked him up during lunch to find out they did the exam anyway and then charged me for it. Stating that dogs his age have to have the exam to be sedated. I was never told that on the phone and it apparently wasn't marked that I didn't want that done. Never got a phone call about it before hand and then was charged an extra $88.86. I was told when I moved here to not go there but I have them a shot anyway. Never again will they get my business, and I would not promote them either. read more

Admittedly, our daughter lives in Walla Walla, so we had a reason to drive all the way from Seattle to this great Vet Clinic. One of their excellent veterinarians removed some small cancerous tumors from our sweet old chocolate lab and saved us at least $500 compared to the estimate given to us by our "big city" vet for the same surgery. They took great care of Molly, including showing us how to remove the stitches so we didn't have to come back for a second visit. And while we were there they did a diagnostic procedure on our 7 month old lab puppy who had the trots and gave us some medicine to clear up an intestinal parasite he picked up at the big city dog park. Bottom line, move to Walla Walla, live in a fabulous town, save money, enjoy an amazing dog park (with green grass!) and get the best vet care in the state at Animal Clinic East! read more
