I worry every time any of my fur babies go to the vet . They can't tell me where they're hurting or what is wrong so finding a good vet is so important for me . These guys truly cared for my pet . They talked to my pet and me . They did labs and a through exam to diagnose the problem and make my baby feel better . That is what mattered the most to me . Thank you guys

Cannot thank Dr Tim Stiff and his team enough. When veterinarians are closing their doors they fight hard to keep your pet safe. Had to take Eos to them for emergency surgery. Though at the time it was only "cosmetic" it could have quickly turned for the worse. They listened to my concerns and did all they could. This is all while still handling three dogs that got hit by cars. Then on top of that worked in Eos, and who knows what else. I am so grateful for them. The prices are amazing as well.

    My baby Titus 8yrs.

I took my dog there the 8/28/24 because he was in pain and had not ate/drink anything all day. After waiting hrs we were told they did an ultrasound and had a lot going on and need surgery. So we paid $2800 after my husband paid. The dr. came back in the room and said well he could be bleeding from his liver and if that's the case we won't be able to save him. I knew at that moment I was never going to see my baby alive again. It was all about the money. When he did the ultrasound he could see that Titus was bleeding from his liver. The Dr. told my husband to go home because it would be a couple of hrs. before he did Titus surgery because he had to hydrate him and it wouldn't be till 12:45 or 1:00 am before he could start. I begged my husband to stay and not leave him. Well I said my good byes and told him how much I loved him and how proud I was to be with mom for the 8 years I had him. He knew because he kissed me and laid in my lap as long as he could. He looked at my Husband as to say he was sorry and when William told him he was going to be ok I losses it and ran outside screaming. We eventually left around 11:00 by 11:45 That Dr. was calling to say he was sorry and I went off I told him I was coming to get my dog to he could pass away at home. He told my husband he wouldn't last no more that 3 or 4 hrs at home and I told my husband I didn't care. It took us 20 mins. to get there and I was furious, Titus was already DEAD! In fact Rigamortus had already begun his legs and lower body was purple and blueish his eyes were open and would not close. They had cut all the way down the middle of his chest and stapled him up. There was no blood in sight. I no they didn't try to save him. No surgery was ever performed. The doctor had to leave " conveniently" which probably was the best thing for him and me because I may have ended up in jail that night. It's no way my dog should have been that HARD in 30 minutes after getting off the phone with him and he's saying he's still alive. I wouldn't take my worst enemy there. They are unprofessional, all about making money, and telling people anything to get money. For a long time I didn't think I was going to make it. I didn't want to be here anymore after I loss Titus or should I say they killed my 100 lbs. Dogo Argentine Mastiff

The entire staff was amazing from the moment we walked in the door. They took great care of my pup and my family.I really hope we never have another emergency, but if we do, we'll definitely come back here.

Real nice box and turn around time (3 weeks!) for 400 dollars, right?

When asked where she normally went for vet care, she said Salty Paws near where she lives in Hampton. Since I live in VA Beach, I asked my son to drive the 45mins north to take Tiggers to the vet. Visit #1 on 6 Nov: $500, said needed some shots and flea treatment and to come back 10 Nov. Attempted Visit #2: Major wreck and fire on the 64. Took my son over an hour to drive from VA Beach For Tiggers scheduled appointment and turned away for being FOUR minutes late. FOUR! after an hour drive across town. Told to come back the next day. By the way, I am a Navy healthcare provider and it is preposterous to turn someone away prior to 15minutes past the scheduled appointment time as we take into consideration traffic and travel throughout the Hampton Roads area. Visit #3 11 Nov: another $500 for them to put a straw through his ear, give some more meds and scheduled follow up 2 weeks later. 1 week later and the poor cat is still miserable without any obvious decrease of swelling to his ear. Blood is matted into his fur down the side of his face. So we decide to take him to a local vet in VA Beach. We simply can't wait another week because we're really concerned for the misery of this cat. Being turned away for being 4mins late the last time really ticked me off and I was no longer feeling like I wanted to continue care with Salty Paws at this point. Local Vet takes one look at Tiggers and exclaims: What the HECK is that???!!! Do you mind if we take a picture so we can train our vets on what NOT to do??? The straw that was supposed 'drain' his ear, literally went straight through-- so how the heck was this providing any drainage?? The blood and pus seeped out from around the straw, not through it. And of course another $500 for that visit. Vet pulled out the tube, gave some more meds plus an antibiotic (since Salty Paws didn't give him one despite being at major risk for infection) fully drained the ear, kindly shaved the area where the fur had gotten filled with blood, and then had to stitch up the mangled mess that was done at Salty Paws. The Vet was also incredibly concerned that Salty Paws didn't have any detailed medical documentation about the treatment they provided Tiggers. For human healthcare this would be considered MALPRACTICE. This place felt like they were more concerned with a cash grab than actually improving the health of my cat in swift, compassionate way. Tiggers (now my family cat adopted from my sister) got his stitches out today and is feeling much better.

After speaking to a few area vet clinics who would not take the time to discuss euthanasia, we were able to speak to Dr. Bates in person that afternoon with our dog. He was the most caring, knowledgeable, and gentle vet possible. He gave us options of treatment, which would not last long, but he explained a few procedures to us. After making the final decision to euthanize our dog, she never felt a thing and passed away peacefully. The clinic personnel took care of her remains and made the arrangements to send them back to us at home. They went above and beyond making sure we received them properly and they were handled carefully. We're so lucky we found the people at Abington clinic in Hayes who so thoroughly took care of our baby. Thank you for providing us peace of mind and respect.
