Yesterday we had our dog in to see him after a grooming incident. Dr. Fagerness took such care of our dog and didn't hurry us out. He ran his practice out of his home, and was close to retirement. So I would bring Andy to Andover Animal Hospital when he was having a hard time. They were amazing. They were able to get him seen quickly and took his health problems very seriously and recommended a cardiologist at the U of M, as his condition required a specialist. I was really impressed with the way they handled everything the few times Andy was seen there. I now bring my current pup there for everything since 2017, it is his primary place for care. They are always so wonderful. Pricing is not through the roof like most places, they don't nickel and dime you like a lot of places too. I have been very happy with the care here. The one and only complaint is the way their computer system works. If I bring him in due to illness or something completely unrelated to his annual exam, their computer system automatically changes the date he is next due for his annual. Right now his chart says he isn't due for his annual until November. However, he was due for his vaccines in January of this year. They no longer send out reminders either, So now he is 4 months overdue because his annual exam due date and his vaccine dates no longer match. Its just frustrating because it makes things way harder to keep track of. Other than that, I love this place!

Our dog went there her whole life, I was in tears and there was nothing from them. She couldn't get off the phone fast enough. I was already thinking of going to a new vet because i felt they had lost their personal touch but this just solidified it. Pets are part of the family but I don't feel they think the same way any longer. The emergency vet Blue Pearl couldn't have been any better to our family during this heartbreaking time.

You can never see who you want & it's hard to get into. High turn over of vets. By the time we had gotten home - the new vet had discarded the slides taken from my cats lump/mass. I was calling her to send it in to cytology. I wanted another opinion. I want to be 300% sure. I am looking into taking him elsewhere for a second opinion. When she tried to explain everything to me - she talked down to me. Then she told me how expensive it would be to remove the lump, etc..... I just want my cat to be ok. I want a second opinion. I didn't feel that my cat was NOT in safe hands, comforted or treated the best he could have been. I didn't feel that I was treated well on the phone either. We have the VCA insurance. I can't wait until it's up so we can go elsewhere.

However, over the past year we have had several instances where we needed to see a Vet for our Yorkie and they were completely booked up; calling on a Tuesday for something urgent and told they couldn't see him until Saturday. We have been referred to an emergency vet in a couple cases only to be told that they, also, didn't have time to see him I don't know if it's because they are part of VCA now or they've taken on too many patients or what. But it has left us feeling like we have no one to count on when we have an urgent issue with our dog.

I adopted my handsome greyhound from Northern Lights about 8 months ago. I have been blown away by the love and compassion provided from every employee at this clinic. I get phone calls from the clinic just to follow up and see how my dog is doing. They have covered ALL fees for anything pre-existing before the adoption such as the removal of a broken canine tooth. They even offered to keep my dog overnight after surgery just as a courtesy and peace of mind for us. Overall this is such a wonderful clinic. I am so happy with my greyhound adoption and the clinic we connected with in the process.

Finally the doctor came in and was asking me the same list of questions and refused to put her to sleep. Apparently they feel like her issue of peeing around the house could be fixed with testing and blah blah blah; it's an avenue we didn't want to go down but they wouldn't budge. The only option other than taking her back home (which we weren't going to do) was to surrender her to them. The only good that came out of all of this was that it didn't cost us anything. But this whole issue was never about money. It's about keeping our house free from urine and getting closure on a loved one that was with us for 9 years. Now who knows what will happen. That sometimes can tend to be even more emotional that putting a cat to sleep. I would not recommend this clinic. It has changed since Dr. Gouck (sp) sold the business.
