I was very upset, you can't go shopping for a new Vet when your told your companion needs to be euthanized. I had him cremated. Recently my 15 yr old Yorkie stopped eating on a Friday, took her to Dr and he said she had an infection. Gave her antibiotic, by Sunday night she passed in my arms. I'm trying to sway to the side she was old and it was her time. I will never know. I also had her cremated at Pet Cremation Services in Heber Springs/Little Rock.(they are great people to deal with)
