We dropped off our bloodhound Mabel here they did an incredible job of cleaning her up and cutting her nails. The staff was very attentive and I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

My wee doggy had loooooong fingernails when we finally came up out of COVID quarantine. She had actually started to limp, and would NOT allow us to trim her nail. I knew I needed help! So I called Animal House, which has been there a pretty long time and is well-established. They allowed her to come without an appointment, even though an appointment is usually required, when I told them on Monday that she had been limping during the weekend. They did a great job on her nails and washed her too, following all my instructions to the letter. I will definitely go again! read more

I was nervous about boarding my four pups at a kennel. Immediately after I dropped them off I was receiving text messages and pics of my pups. One of my pups wasn't eating and they texted me to let me know what they were doing to get him to eat. I also asked them to give our bulldog a bath. When I got there all four dogs were bathed and I was charged for just one. Sean and his employees took very good care of my babies. I will definitely board them there again! read more

We have 2 dachshunds who have been coming for vaccines/annual wellness visits since they were about 6 weeks old and we have always opted out on vaccinating them for LEPTO, that is the "L" in the DHLPP combo vaccine. Both dachshunds always receive the DHPP vaccine ONLY, NO LEPTO. We made this decision due to one of our dachshunds having a severe reaction to the LEPTO vaccine a few years ago and going to anaphylactic shock and almost died. I make sure to make it known every single visit that we want all vaccines EXCEPT LEPTO and have told them every time in the past to put it on their records. This past Friday, I had to work so my husband took our dachshund Ollie for her annual wellness/vaccine appointment. When the vet tech came in, she was reading off all of the vaccines that Ollie was going to be receiving, however, included lepto so my husband told her that we did not want to vaccinate her for the lepto vaccine (as usual) and told her she has never gotten it before due to our other dachshund having such a severe (almost deadly) reaction. The vet tech told my husband that she is looking at Ollie's vet records and told him she has received it every single time in the past. My husband thought maybe he had gotten it confused and agreed because he TRUSTED the workers at the vet which was obviously a mistake. He called me on the way home telling me what happened so I pulled out Ollie's vet records from the past few years and looked to confirm she hasn't been receiving the Lepto vaccine. Every single document from each appointment stated "DHPP ONLY-NO LEPTO". While looking for the records, I had my mom call them to ask what amount of Benedryl needs to be given to her to help prevent any kind of severe reaction and they said they would call her back and let her know because they had to ask the pharmacy? After about 15-20 minutes of no call, I called another vet who we will be going to from now on and they immediately told me how much Benedryl to give her. Asheboro animal hospital never called and let my mom know an answer. After locating all of Ollie's records, I immediately called and spoke to someone at the front desk and when explaining the situation I was met with a rude attitude and was cut off in the middle of my sentence by her saying "I'm looking at her records right now and she has gotten the vaccine every year. I told her I was also looking at her records right now from every appointment she's ever had and stated that every single document says "DHPP ONLY-NO LEPTO" and explained that it should've been on her file. After placing me on hold, she came back and apologized and offer to refund us the $45ish dollars we paid for the vaccine and stated she would add the alert to her file as well as our other dachshund. We accepted the refund and appreciated it, but I feel as if we absolutely cannot trust this vet any longer because this could have been a deadly situation, especially if we didn't catch it and provide Benedryl immediately! I also did not appreciate the rude attitude I was met with when calling to tell them their mistake. And to top it off they never bothered to let us know how much Benedryl to give our dog to prevent a reaction from a mistake they made! We will be switching all 6 of our pets to Seagrove Animal Hospital who provided immediate and friendly care over the phone letting me know exactly how much Benedryl to give and what symptoms to lookout for and told me that if she has any kind of reaction to just stop by with her which I greatly appreciated. BEWARE IF YOU'RE TAKING YOUR PETS HERE.

Grooming should not be about how many animals you can get in your shop in a day but to see how many are relaxed and happy when they come back. A gentle hand can go along way with a fearful baby. So at the Hound Lounge no your baby may not go home with a perfect haircut but they will go home with a great experience, knowing that someone cared enough and did what was best for them .

I looked at the owner's website www.camp-ruff.com which describes their facility as a "lux camp" for dogs and puppies. I was intrigued and called for an appt to view the property and see the operations. I was met by the Camp Director/Owner, a delightful, sincere woman named Lucinda. She greeted me and my dog and proceeded to show me the camp home, which is divided into sections based on the needs and behaviors of the various dogs she was boarding. She listened to my description of my dogs needs, habits and observed her to judge how she would behave w other dogs. One by one she let a dog out from the house, where they have their "sleep over", cautiously to see what my dog would do. As the animals were about my dog's size everyone seemed to accept each other. Great news! Lucinda decided to take the next step by taking my dog w the small pack for some exercise on the trail in the woods behind the house. The dogs were running around having a great time which relieved my anxiety that my dog might not like to be off leash but she was running and getting some great exercise and learning to enjoy the pack mentality. No fighting or misbehaving, perfect! Lucinda works tirelessly to pamper the pooches morning and night. Morning feedings, evening feedings, medications and always careful observations of the pets. They all sleep like happy babies when the day ends in a real home environment. Prices are in line and reasonable I think for an overnight stay of $44 including feeding, walking, playtime and careful observation by someone who is highly qualified and very knowledgeable of pet behavior. All animals come in contact w other pets only when owner has documentation for boarding such as rabies vaccination, bordetello. This place is a well thought out and safe place to leave your precious pet while you are away. So relax, they got your back!

If she was vomiting during surgery she should never been left alone overnight , she should have been transferred to a 24 hour care facility.
