I was never informed that she had been injured while in their care. I only discovered the extent of the damage after bringing her home and noticing her discomfort. The injuries became infected and required veterinary treatment, antibiotics, and over $250 in vet bills. Thankfully, she is now recovering, but no pet should have to suffer like this. What made this situation even more upsetting was the response afterward. When I contacted the owner, Mary, about the injuries, she claimed that my dog already had a hot spot and denied that the grooming process caused the wound. Based on the condition of my dog before the appointment and the injuries I found immediately afterward, I strongly disagree with that explanation. I understand that accidents can happen when working with animals. What is unacceptable is failing to notify the owner when a dog has been injured and then refusing to take responsibility when serious concerns are raised. Pet owners trust groomers to care for their animals safely and honestly, and in my experience, that trust was completely broken. The attached photo speaks for itself. I am sharing my experience so that other pet owners can make informed decisions and carefully inspect their pets after grooming appointments. I will never be returning and cannot recommend this business to anyone who values transparency, accountability, and the well-being of their pets.
