I think the customer service side of things is just fine. Everyone was nice. However, I was quoted $80 for a groom on the website. I've been to Petco in NC many times and my online quote was always accurate. The groom was $15 more. Which was ok. I figured maybe her size was bigger than they expected. What isn't ok is $15 extra to" trim and brush tail and head". How is this not included in a $95 base bath and cut? I got my doodle shaved!!! With a 7. Her head and tail still have SOME hair but this much to easily shave the body which didn't need styling, just shaving because there is no hair to style. I've worked at 2 grooming salons, myself(not as a groomer) and never have seen this seperate cost!!!! Also charged a 5.99 material fee? Is $95 not including using your materials. Lol. I will not be back for grooming. I'm not a confrontational person so I just paid it because I figured maybe she was a difficult dog and I was carrying my baby with me and couldn't stand around any longer. I feel bad when I have to say no I wouldn't recommend, but I went in there specifically to look for RAW food for a special-needs Bengal cat that we had adopted that had to go raw because of IBD. They said besides freeze dried which is not true RAW, they didn't carry one single brand for cats. I went to a feed store down the street and found everything I needed for less money then they charge for most products and the place was tiny. But it's all there at your fingertips. There is one OK worker there who was helpful but the rest didn't seem super knowledgeable and was just so surprised about the food especially in 2022 no less. Sadly I cannot recommend. read more

This Petco in Fleming island is easily one of my favorite. It is never fully crowded so I can get in and out easily. The store is set up just like other stores so it is easy to navigate and find exactly what I need. This Petco carries my brand of cat food (Halo Grain free) and they carry the brand of litter I use (Blue Buffalo). I like to run by the treat bar to get tears for my moms dogs. The treats always seem fresh. The service great and I have always found helpful associates who are willing to provide answers to any questions I have had. The store is clean and doesn't smell. They are also great with taking coupons. The store is conveniently located next to target. I will continue to go to this Petco anytime I am in Fleming Island. read more

Petco... it's where the pet's go. Literally... Our dog loves to come and get a treat from the cashiers =) My wife and I really like to take our Golden here and just browse, look at the fishes, and pick up the wagon full of food that our pup requires. They have a wide variety of dog food and supplies - our only gripe is that the in-store pricing is very different from the online store... such a dichotomy! The in-store price sometimes can be $10 more than online, which makes no sense seeing as though you can buy online and return in store. We sometimes end up doing this... buying enough online for free ship to get the item we want, and returning everything we don't want in store. The staff here are pretty good courtesy and service wise. They almost always compliment our dog (he is the best looking golden... just saying), and provide recommendations if they see us checking out a certain type of merchandise. The set up is a little different than what we are used to - seems like too much wasted space in the front with the checkout queue the way it is, but that's not really a gripe. All in all a good location - I like that they moved here close to Target as opposed to being over by Kohls. I'm a fan! read more

I got 10 guppies, 5 male and 5 female. I come home and get their tank cleaned and ready let them get used to the water before putting them in so they wouldn't go into shock. The next morning I wake up there are 4 left. 6 were belly up at the bottom. Then two hours later two more died. Then I move the last two out thinking maybe it's something wrong with the water. An hour later one dies and there is now one left. You can look at it and tell it's struggling very near death. So I go to get 5 more thinking I did something wrong. I leave them in the bag I got them in for about 3-4 hours. Now 2 are dead. Out of the 15 fish I bought I am down to 4. Definitely do not recommend. read more

I signed up my dobie pup for level 1 & 2 classes back in October and the CGC - last night he finished and passed the Canine Good Citizen training program. I just want to say, what an amazing job Sharon Schumacher, the dog trainer, did for helping train me how to train my Doberman. She communicated well with me and Achilles, she taught me how to handle him in meet and greet situations, how to read and understand his demeanor, etc., Petco at Fleming Island staff were always nice to him during the lessons. The training fees were reasonable and I love the fact that it was hands-on training.Thank you Sharon and the staff at Petco. Achilles is such a sweet dog now and is such a good dog compared to when he first started. read more

I've been going to this Petco since they were by Khol's but recently I'm in awe of how far down its gone. I haven't had one cashier be kind to me or my girlfriend in the past 6 months, most of the time i get a dirty glare of displeasure when I tell them good day. Now, I mostly go there for its Aquatics department solely. I can only say one maybe two of the aquatics specialists is knowledgeable and not rude. The others just either ignore me or other patrons and get mad if we ever ask questions. The livestock is a hit or miss most of the time as well. I've had a few things die on the way to my house just cause the staff shocked the livestock so hard by the way they handled them. Unfortunately, I expect to be disappointed every time I walk in through the door. My advice is to avoid this place if you are looking for aquatic stock. read more

Terrible vet service. We had an appointment for one of our pets and the vet was extremely rude. Jimmy, the jerk who helped us made extremely inappropriate comments to our very ill pet. As soon as he walked into the room he asked, "is it dead?" WHAT??! Who says that to someone while their pet is in pain and sick!? Without stepping a foot in, he immediately made the comment. I was so stunned he said that, i couldn't even think. Then he walked in and immediately started talking about euthanasia. No other option, he said "thats the only thing i can do". No exams, not even a peep into the carrier, just immediately went to euthanize. It blew my mind how incredibly irresponsible and insensitive these people are, its truly saddening. They only cared for money and never your pets. Highly recommend finding a local humane society or literally any other vet for low cost because these people DO NOT CARE! This store doesn't offer many brands either. At least the cashiers were nice but that was it. They really need to fire these idiots so called "vets" read more

I recently adopted a cat at this location (through Catbugs Pet Rescue) so I have been in quite a few times. The location is convenient and they have quite a few dedicated parking spots (when the gym next door gets busy the parking lot does fill up). The store itself is a good size and has a ton of products and variety. I do find the prices a little high (unless you're looking for some thing very specific, the Target next door or the Walmart across the street are probably closer). read more

This Petco is pretty much on par with all the other Petcos- decent selection, yet way over priced. I shop here because it's the only place that carries my cats prefered food in the area. If you are looking for specialty pet need items, this is the place. The Fleming Island location always has a few cats/kittens for adoption. Never had an issue with this store until I brought my dog with me. I have a 2-year-old rescued American Bulldog who is one of the most friendly dogs (to other dogs and humans) I've ever owned. The store had a pet adoption agency and the lady running the adoption freaked out when I walked in. My dog didn't get a chance to blink before she came wailing at me yelling and telling me to get the dog away. That's not the store's issue...the issue I had was with the management. I calmly told the manager he needs to speak to this woman because she is going to run off his customers. He just kind of shrugged his shoulders like "oh well"...never again. read more
