Liar and disrespectful Danielle, making up stories
    Danuta V.

PUPPY MILL!!! DO NOT WASTE your time applying here if you expect a fair or professional process!!! After spending over four hours on a detailed application following the loss of our beloved Yorkie of 9 years, we were met with nothing but hostility and bias from a representative named Danielle. No empathy or sympathy for the loss of our beloved Yorkie either. The entire operation is incredibly SUSPICIOUS. All "POSITIVE" reviews are made by a FAKE account!! Look at those accounts they are not real people. There is no listed phone number or any way to contact the organization besides an email address. When Danielle called after hours from her private cellphone, it was with children screaming so loudly in the background that we could barely hear. When we asked for her name and organization, a necessary step since my husband has partial hearing loss, she became immediately defensive. Without speaking to us for even two minutes, she made snap judgments, assumed we were "applying everywhere," because we were waiting to hear back from another shelter about donating our Yorkies toys and food. She immediately stereotyped and told us we weren't a fit. We never mentioned having "multiple applications to other shelters" it was a random lie she made up out of nowhere. Even IF we were looking to adopt two dogs from two different shelters or rescues, it is absurd to rescue 2 dogs in need of a home? My sister has 3 dogs she rescued from 3 different shelters?? We are trying to give a dog in need a loving home! We are dedicated pet parents who treated our previous dog like family; she was spayed, spoiled, and traveled everywhere with us!! As a Registered Nurse and an adoptee myself, I chose adoption over a breeder because I believe in the cause, but Danielle turned it into a nightmare. She replied with racist stereotypes (my husband is Indian) and showed blatantent discrimination rather than looking at our qualifications as responsible, loving owners. The dogs are over $800 without even spaying/ neutering, which is a red flag as well. Between the lack of a contact number, the unprofessional conduct, and the immediate dismissal, I am very suspicious that this is a backyard breeding operation "claiming to be a rescue. There's no address or location to meet and many many reviews claim there are numerous dogs crammed in one cage and many were filthy and had severe health issues. It really sounds like a puppy mill operation or back yard breeder. To be turned down based on prejudice before a real conversation even started is a disgrace. This is not an ethical "rescue" and was reported for being an unethical breeder by numerous people!!

My parents and I had a wonderful time working with Danielle in the adoption process. By the time we applied for one of the available dachshunds it had already been adopted, but Danielle suggested meeting their other doxy, Piper, because she stated she was a sweetheart. And boy she is! We met at their provided office and my parents and I interacted and discussed if we wanted to adopt her. All in all, it was a very smooth process. From communication via email, informing us over call that our application had been accepted, to the actual adoption process - it couldn't have been any easier. Now we have the sweetest pie as a companion here at home and couldn't be happier.

We live in Las Vegas adopted the best puppy in the world, Milo! He's so sweet and cute. Danielle was responsive and helpful. Elisse drove to meet us half-way and was very caring. I recommend adoption through Animal Prayers and got the exact breed and pet I was hoping for!

We were matched with the perfect puppy through them. Reading the reviews I feel like people need to understand these are volunteers working day jobs, having their family commitments, and taking time to save animals. Be patient they will change your life

Danielle was easy to reach and had clear communication. When we went to visit the dog we were interested in, we were not rushed and spent an hour with the dog before making a decision. Danielle was clear and direct with the adoption steps and even helped us schedule a low cost neutering appointment. Although very shy at first, our pup has blossomed into a great family dog with a ton of personality.

Thank you for our little sweet boy! We named him Cody Had a great experience with Danielle at Animal Prayers they are very thorough in their background check!

From filling out the application to a follow up conversation 4 months after adoption Danielle was friendly and helpful. She was willing to let us meet Brandon (now Venom) and even let our resident dog meet him too before we took him home. The application was long but thorough something that is needed to ensure an animal is a right fit. I highly recommend Animal Prayers.

Adopted the sweetest pup from animal prayers. Communication from Danielle was excellent. We are so grateful to have been able to adopt and that there are people who are helping dogs find loving homes

I don't generally like to be this blunt without further explanation, but I think the other 1 star reviews on here and the attached screenshot clearly show that there is something wrong with the owners here. There was nothing that my husband said (it was a very short, basic question, lol) that warranted such an aggressive and nonsensical response. If the dog being listed as available on PetFinder was a mistake, you could just say so. Also, what's with the sudden exclamation points? Please save yourself the confusion and don't even contact this place. I hope these dogs somehow find a safe and good home, away from the owners of this so-called shelter.

We made a call to go see a specific dog and Danielle said she had two Maltipoo females she just rescued we could see right away. Ended up we came home with one of them. She was a mess, smelled like a toilet but I looked into her eyes and said she'd going to be fine, Now 3 months later we are so happy she's ours! Working with Danielle had been a pleasure. She's great at follow up and made the whole adoption process easy. We highly recommend Animal Prayers Rescue,

The adoption of Ollie was quick and easy. We met at a convenient place interviewed each other and then met and interacted with Ollie. Since it seemed a good match I was able to take him home immediately. The rescue gave me both the good and bad qualities of Ollie, (likes to counter surf), and it was a good description. I am happy to welcome Ollie into my home.

We had a tremendously positive experience with Danielle and Animal Prayers. I found our sweet Breck (formerly Canelo) on adoptapet through Animal Prayers and followed the instructions to e-mail for an application. Danielle quickly sent me a link to the application the next morning. It was a lengthy and thorough application, which I appreciated and took as a sign that they care deeply and want to make sure the animals are finding homes that are a good fit for them. She then called and we had a conversation to make sure we were a good fit for a young, active dog, like Breck (we are!). We then scheduled a time the next day for us to meet at her office so I could meet my dog and again make sure we were a good fit. The description they provided of Breck was 100% accurate and within hours he became an irreplaceable part of our family. I really appreciated Danielle's partnership throughout this process and her dedication to making sure Breck found a good home. She followed up via text to make sure he was settling in, which I thought was a kind gesture and indicator of her dedication. I highly recommend this rescue organization and will happily send any of my animal loving friends in the direction of Animal Prayers!

We got the sweetest new addition to our family thanks to Animal Prayers. This rescue truly cares about the animals they foster and wants to ensure they go to great homes. Danielle was super easy to deal with and was very accommodating to our schedule since we were coming from San Diego. Animal Prayers has so many wonderful animals that are still looking for homes. I can't thank Danielle and Animal Prayers enough for our darling little baby. A+++++

We got in the car and drove all the way across town. We get there and not 30 seconds after walking in we are getting a stern lecture about our prong collar on our Malinois, judging us without knowing about a Malinois or her story. The prong collar literally saved her life, it saved her from getting into trouble and is a fantastic training tool when used properly. Maybe don't judge people as they walk in the door. Then...the icing on the cake. The dog we were coming to see, WASNT EVEN THERE. Terrible experience, the gentleman working the front desk should try not being so judgmental of people. After just 5 days they transferred it to a Rescue. The process was so secretive that Animal Control would not even tell me the name of the rescue service. After some serious digging I found out the cat had been transferred to Rover Rescue. They're almost 900 miles away even though we have several rescues within 50 miles. I immediately called Rover Rescue and found out they did have the cat and that it will be going to an adoption event this weekend. They REFUSED to tell me where the event was being held. I wasn't trying to get preferential treatment. I just wanted to have an equal opportunity to re-adopt this cat that has lived with me for the last year and a half and they refused to tell me where it was. Clearly they are not interested in getting animals back with loving families. I really hope it ends up with a good family but it was a stray I took off the streets. It had settled into our family very well. Now they are going to make the cat go through that again. It's also very concerning to me about how secretive the process is, even the name of the organization. Don't know anything about them except today's very inadequate interaction but that level of secrecy is not a good sign.

And several days later I picked up my girl from the Vet. Kathy was very helpful and thoughtful with her advice. Foxy came with a leash and a collar and we were given a bag of food to get us started. I love this organization, they do amazing work rescuing IMO the most adorable pooches. I want another one but I don't think Ms. Foxy is ready for a buddy quite yet. IMO the rescue fee is comparable and totally fair. You get a itemized list of all the fees they pay while the dog in their care. You don't have an obligation to pay those fees but it really did show me how much money it does take to save these animals.

With the same thinking, it would not be fair to have a dog here ......unless of course it lived indoors with us. We were blindsided when our son brought Buffy two years ago. He just showed up, and like "Here!" She followed him everywhere from one end of the house to the other and back and forth. When he left she cried and whimpered. I laid down on the floor with her and she looked at me with soulful brown eyes, pleading, "Please help me!" I cried and hugged her and told her, "I love you!" That was it! She was mine. It took some adjusting to my new mommy role added on top of the other things I do everyday. When it became apparent I was keeping her, I contacted GTTDR and spoke with Marcy. She explained their dogs are never to be taken out of state and that she wanted to send someone to Las Vegas to do a home inspection. Laurie came for the visit and saw how happy Buffy was. I allowed her to take photos and send it to Marcy. Laurie seemed pleased that Buffy had a good home, but was quite prepared to take her back to California if requirements weren't met. Marcy said, "So I hear your home is fabulous......" I was impressed that GTTDR went to such lengths. Thanks to Heather also for rescuing Buffy from a kill shelter. Two years later, we love Buffy more than you can imagine. She is family. She is three now. Though she is my primary responsibility for care, etc. she loves her dad and her grandma who lives with us. She gets three walks a day at three different parks in the area. She has tons of doggy and people friends and she loves to run and chase birds, rabbits and chipmunks. She is the fastest runner at any of the parks. Her vet says she's athletic, referring to her muscle tone. In the beginning she couldn't walk on a leash without pulling. She barked at everyone and every dog even if it were two blocks away. Now, she walks off-leash, listens to commands, understands everything I say, and has helped other dogs come out of their shell. She wants to be friends with all dogs with the exception of one. She looks to me to see if I give the okay to say 'hello' and she wags her tail and goes to the other dog/s. She is the sweetest soul you will ever meet. Everyone loves Buffy. She is good when visitors come and loves attention they give. She has such confidence and isn't shy about gentle pawing to get more rubs. On our walk this morning, she turned back to look at me with such a loving look, my friend asked, "What was that look?" I said, "She loves me!" He said, "That's what it looked like!" I'm happy she's ours. She deserves a good home and all the love she gets. She is secure and happy. Don't buy. Rescue!

Review #969 2026-035…read more Carson Animal Care Center is part of the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care & Control (DACC), one of the largest progressive animal control agencies in the U.S. It covers an expansive region of 3.4K miles of cities, beaches, mountains, & deserts, providing 24/7 animal control & rescue services with a 24-hour communication center. DACC adopted a new philosophy expression: "Socially Conscious Animal Sheltering" in which their shelters strive to create the best outcome for all animals by treating them respectfully & alleviating their suffering with the intent to maximize their lives while balancing animal comfort & public safety. My son & I were in the neighborhood for lunch over the weekend, & saw that Carson Animal Care Center was en route home so I wanted to stop by their cat house to see if there's any kittens/cats that might be a good fit with our Lynx Point Siamese kitten that we adopted last year. There were several possibilities, but only 1 stood out, a cute 4-month old gray & white kitten; ID: A5756923. He kept meowing at us when we were near his cage, & paraded/rubbed himself back & forth in his cage... definitely wanted our attention! He reached out with his paws to tap our fingers & hands, & liked the mini rubs that we were able to give between the bars. I nicknamed him "Butter" because he just melts your heart & in your hands. He was on hold, to be released W, 02/25/26. I tried to come back before Carson Animal Care Center opens at 11:00 AM, but was slightly delayed (11:15 AM) & Butter was gone. Sad for us, but happy for him to find his fur-ever home. Yay!! I walked around to see if the previous cats had warmed up yet. Again, there were 2 cats that called out when I was near their cage... a charming 14-month old brown, black, & white female tabby with beautiful golden eyes named Sadie, & a 1-year old white & tan male domestic shorthair with gorgeous light blue eyes (similar to Snow's eyes) that is unnamed. I trekked to the front office to request interaction time & had to complete a form. By the time I received the form & returned, Sadie was adopted in a span of 10-mins; while friendly at CACC, she might be a handful at home. I waited a few minutes & no staff returned to the cat house so I went outside, & another officer pointed to another officer who could help with my interaction request. He crossed off the previous ID, & noted A5757653. The makeshift plexi-room echoed a bit so I let him explore the open space & waited for him to warm up to me. I clicked a couple of times & he came to me. This boy has a more gentle temperament, though he'll shed like crazy. He likes head & neck rubs, didn't mind me cleaning gunk from his eyes, or holding his paws/squeezing his nails too much, which means I can probably cut his nails. While rubbing against my leg, I picked him up to place on my lap & he marked my tee & jeans. I scratched him a bit more before leaving & informed the officer that I intend to adopt him. I spent almost 1/2-hr. waiting in the front office, waiting for my turn to process the adoption. I mentioned that he appears to be intact (he is) & CACC will neuter him tomorrow. I asked if it can be pushed to F, 02/27/26 due to the kids' after-school activities, & if he can be cleaned up/groomed because I won't be able to after his surgery. His coat was dirty & slightly matted, & had long, sharp nails; I'm hoping they can take care of this so he's somewhat clean coming home. There's a February adoption special... all adoptions are $14 (I'm guessing for Valentine's). Thanks for our fur baby addition, Carson Animal Care Center... we can't wait to welcome this cutie home!

She is VERY protective of her dogs and will take dogs back into the rescue if need be. I can see that she tries to keep them local to the South Bay, and if she doesn't respond to you that probably means you aren't the right fit.
