Danielle and Ellise with Animal Prayers Rescue in San Pedro are two of the kindest and most giving people I have ever met. The love they show, and the caring they provide, to these little misplaced, ignored, neglected, and forgotten bundles of fur is incredible. I was initially hesitant to foster a dog because of my busy work schedule. I thought "I don't have time for another dog". Danielle suggested that I not "overthink it" because I would be "fostering" a dog and she would help me figure it all out. I thought "that's true" but once I met my new little pal (that I named "Girlfriend"), the thought of fostering went out the window! Literally, within 10 minutes of meeting my her, I was overwhelmed with joy, excitement, anxiety, and sadness. I thought "how could someone not fall in love with this little girl"? At that point I realized I was ready to make some changes to my lifestyle so I could provide her with a life of love, safety, fun and food that she had never experienced before. As the saying goes "who rescued who?", that applies to me. She is a welcomed member to my family. Danielle and Ellise are angels. They are "the boots on the ground" for rescuing abused and neglected animals, and getting them to a safe place. I was always relieved to read about a dog's life being saved by someone, but I never really thought about how hard it was for that "someone" who was actually doing the rescue. We filled out the application, someone named Danielle called and she was defensive and suspicicious and was offended when we asked for papers and she wanted to be paid in cash. it was sketch sketch sketch and all we wanted was a doodle to love forever. Seems quite similar to this person's post as well - perhaps instead of being defensive, Daniele should take some constructive feedback from people who spend their time to apply for a puppy to love. +++ PUPPY MILL!!! DO NOT WASTE your time applying here if you expect a fair or professional process!!! After spending over four hours on a detailed application following the loss of our beloved Yorkie of 9 years, we were met with nothing but hostility and bias from a representative named Danielle. No empathy or sympathy for the loss of our beloved Yorkie either. The entire operation is incredibly SUSPICIOUS. All "POSITIVE" reviews are made by a FAKE account!! Look at those accounts they are not real people. There is no listed phone number or any way to contact the organization besides an email address. When Danielle called after hours from her private cellphone, it was with children screaming so loudly in the background that we could barely hear. When we asked for her name and organization, a necessary step since my husband has partial hearing loss, she became immediately defensive. As a Registered Nurse and an adoptee myself, I chose adoption over a breeder because I believe in the cause, but Danielle turned it into a nightmare. She replied with racist stereotypes (my husband is Indian) and showed blatantent discrimination rather than looking at our qualifications as responsible, loving owners. The dogs are over $800 without even spaying/ neutering, which is a red flag as well. Between the lack of a contact number, the unprofessional conduct, and the immediate dismissal, I am very suspicious that this is a backyard breeding operation "claiming to be a rescue. There's no address or location to meet and many many reviews claim there are numerous dogs crammed in one cage and many were filthy and had severe health issues. It really sounds like a puppy mill operation or back yard breeder. To be turned down based on prejudice before a real conversation even started is a disgrace. We had a tremendously positive experience with Danielle and Animal Prayers. I found our sweet Breck (formerly Canelo) on adoptapet through Animal Prayers and followed the instructions to e-mail for an application. Danielle quickly sent me a link to the application the next morning. It was a lengthy and thorough application, which I appreciated and took as a sign that they care deeply and want to make sure the animals are finding homes that are a good fit for them. She then called and we had a conversation to make sure we were a good fit for a young, active dog, like Breck (we are!). We then scheduled a time the next day for us to meet at her office so I could meet my dog and again make sure we were a good fit. I cannot recommend Danielle enough. I contacted her because I could not believe she had a Komondor puppy available for adoption. I have had a Komondor before and they are not easy to find here in the states. They are an incredible breed (Hungarian sheepdogs), but it's good to know about them before you dive in. We talked on the phone for an hour, she gave me all the information she had about this beautiful puppy who has absolutely stolen my heart. He was about one when we spoke, and had been in a litter born to a backyard breeder. The puppies had been neglected and rescued by animal control, and then Danielle. She was very careful to vet me which i appreciated. She brought me this beautiful guy herself, checked out the house and backyard to make sure it was safe, gave me all the vaccination information he had so far, and could not have been more helpful. My husband and I were very ready and excited to adopt a dog. I wouldn't have spent over an hour on their application otherwise. I was really shocked at the call I had with Danielle. She was so unbelievably rude, and despite me trying to explain to her, questioned our desire to adopt a dog straight out of the gate without even speaking to us... Reading the other reviews, it sounds like others had the same experience. I feel horrible for the dogs, because I think her attitude will stop them from being adopted. We wanted to feel comfortable to meet a dog and ensure they were fit, but we knew with this rescue it wouldn't be possible. 1. Rude and hostile experience from the very beginning. Very confrontational--tempers were exchanged during meet up. 2. Meet up was at a random office building. Other parties were present to look at pups, but it seemed out of the norm for a rescue to meet clients at an office building pavilion. 3. Multiple dogs were placed in one tiny crate- unbathed despite meet up for adoption. 4. The dog I adopted was riddled with health issues. (Worms, yeast, ear infections, vision issues, and deafness) All confirmed after initial visit 2 days after getting the puppy. Shot record and dewormer record was provided at adoption. Could never initiate contact with the vet listed on shot records to confirm health history or validate medical records. read more

My family and I had an incredible experience with Animal Prayers adopting our new furbaby!!! Number one, this rescue ALWAYS answers the phone. That in and of itself is a big deal. When I called other rescues, some of them took days to call me back and some didn't return my calls at all. The application was long and even after I filled out the application, Danielle had some questions for me to clarify. This was a good thing because this told me that she cares about the welfare of her animals and who they are going to. My new dog is the love of my family's life and I could tell that she was loved before she got to us. When I met Danielle, she was on time, pleasant, professional and most importantly, showed me a happy, healthy dog updated on all vaccines and ready to go. She provided me a clear contract, medical records and an invitation to call her anytime with questions.
