However, we've run into the same issue multiple times, and it's become frustrating. Whenever a new group of kittens arrives, it seems that staff members are able to claim or adopt them before customers even have a chance to view them or express interest. We've experienced this on more than one occasion, and it leaves us feeling like customers aren't being given a fair opportunity to adopt some of the animals that come in. I understand that employees may also want to adopt pets, but when customers are actively looking to adopt, it doesn't seem fair for staff to have first access while they're working. In my opinion, this is a policy issue that should be addressed to ensure everyone has an equal chance to adopt. We still like this place and appreciate what they do, but this is something that has significantly impacted our experience.

There is no home inspection, but they do ask a series of questions, and as long as they all meet the qualifications of a suitable pet owner, then an appointment is set for a visit at the facility, and if you're ready right then and there, you just need to fill out a few things, pay, and head home with your new pet! A few years ago, a friend of mine adopted a dog from here - a beautiful tripod chihuahua mix. She was happy with the adoption process and loves her little princess. I was having dinner next door and stopped in to check the store out. As expected, the place is meticulously perfect and the décor is bougie with lots of cute plush dog toys & merch. Off to the side is a section where the fur babies that are up for adoption reside in posh play pens with white picket fences. There is also a nice area on the rooftop where potential adopters can spend quality time with their future fur baby. The staff here are very friendly, and I got to meet one of the pups named Meatball as he was on his way out for a walk. Looking for a new companion for our Malinois that we rescued as a 6 month old and have raised to be a wonderful 6 and a half year old. We saw a dog online we wanted to see, so we called ahead to see if we could come see him. They sounded excited on the phone and told us to come on down! We got in the car and drove all the way across town. We get there and not 30 seconds after walking in we are getting a stern lecture about our prong collar on our Malinois, judging us without knowing about a Malinois or her story. The prong collar literally saved her life, it saved her from getting into trouble and is a fantastic training tool when used properly. Maybe don't judge people as they walk in the door. Then...the icing on the cake. The dog we were coming to see, WASNT EVEN THERE. Terrible experience, the gentleman working the front desk should try not being so judgmental of people. I grew up on a farm around working dogs, we know the breed. I feel bad for the dogs here.

My second experience was terrible. After my puppy was killed while with me on leash by a reckless driver, I later returned to L&L to look for a new baby. Different set of employees, and both my nephew and I were shocked that one of them seemed to blame me for my puppy being killed. He was rude, insensitive to the circumstance, and he did all he could to throw up roadblocks to helping me. He was an expressionless jerk who had zero empathy or professionalism. I contacted the manager about this, and though she three times promised to call me back, she never did. This is heartless behavior for a place that is supposed to be doing good. I will never go back to that place again. The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because my first experience with them was good. That appears to have been an anomaly. I adopted a pup from Best Friends West LA, which I cannot recommend enough.

They provided a great description of her personality and her potty training behavior. She's been such a good puppy so far. My cat was finally called and I was in shock at what I saw. The cruelty and treatment of my cat was so wrong. The Lange Foundation should train the staff paid or not to be more organized and treat our pets in a much better way than this. This person here is using her mouth to hold the syringe and having some kind of exorcist moment before injecting my cat with the syringe straight from her mouth and then the way she holds her and drags her and then throws her in the crate like nothing. You can immediately tell that this adoption center truly prioritizes the safety, health, and well…read morebeing of their animals over anything els, even money. that's honestly so rare and really refreshing to see. they're very strict about their process, which i actually really appreciated. before you can even view the kittens or other animals, you have to fill out a form. they want to make sure every animal goes to a safe, loving, and responsible home. most animal shelters don't do this so i really appreciate it. the whole place felt clean, calm, and well cared for, and the animals all seemed happy and properly looked after. the staff was also super kind and made sure we took our time looking at the kittens. overall, it just feels like a place that genuinely cares. if you're looking to adopt, this is exactly the kind of environment you'd want. responsible, thoughtful, and focused on what's best for the animals.
