If you are looking for a furfriend please check this place out. I had been looking for 2 months. I…read morecould not even find a shelter that I could talk to or would get back to me. Could say lot more here but will bite tongue. Finally I guess the powers that be felt sorry for me and sent me here. Went for one kitty but got a different one instead. Pepper is the perfect addition to our family. These people WANT to get their charges adopted. They are great all the way around. I know this is out of the way for most people, but if they have a pet you are interested in, this is the place to go.

These folks do seem to be a caring group, and I will say that if someone has a pet that they need…read moreto rehome, or has found a stray that they can't keep, this is a good call to make. They are a no kill shelter, and I will presume that they screen properly. They ARE small, and they do have a waiting list. That goes without saying. Be aware of that. However, if you are a rescuer in that region...and trust me, that general area (I don't live there any longer. I'm now out of state) is an animal dumping ground, they seem to have an unspoken limit on the number of strays you can bring in to them. They seem to have cut me off after 3 over the course of a year. They didn't come right out and say it, but they just never called me back. Every time I called them (I had trapped and rescued a stray cat that someone had dumped near where my Mom lived...A pretty common occurrence) they would say something like there were 2 in line in front of me or something. But I was watching their Facebook page, and several adoptions would take place, sooo...I would call them back. Nope! Still no space! I finally just wound up keeping this little guy even though I already had 3, and he still doesn't really get along with them...and we live in a really small place! I wasn't planning on another cat. Just no way I would leave him out there on his own! Sigh! It would be more efficient if they would network with other animal shelters in the area, so that when they don't have space they could work on finding a shelter that does. I've seen other shelters and rescues that do that, and it's a really effective way of working such situations out. These folks didn't even have a list of such shelters to give me. Where I was living, I had no internet access other than on my phone with limited data, so couldn't effectively do that research myself. I realize that this rescue is small and with limited resources! And cudos for being no kill!! But it needs to be understood that the surrounding area there is seriously an animal dumping ground! If someone has a heart for animals...but can't reasonably keep every animal they rescue, they are going to need a rescue...or better, a network of rescues willing to work with them. It is also helpful to utilize fosters. I don't recall ever seeing anything about working with fosters on their page or website. I may have missed something there. Just didn't see it. Sorry this is long. It's just that there's a serious need in that area for effective rescues. If not already in place, affordable spay and neuter and TNR programs would be awesome too! Even though I don't live in that area any more, my hope is that maybe over (not too much) time some improvements in the way things are done can be made, and more animal lives can be saved. And isn't that what the goal of rescue is supposed to be in the 1st place? Peace

Wanted me to write statements for her about our local Animal Control, dragged her feet on fosters for the puppies even though she herself had puppies and a momma in a hoarder home that had parvo 2 yrs ago, blew up my phone while I was at a funeral wanting me to write something about caddo and made a comment "our legal team will be reaching out". I finally blocked her. She ghosted the puppies and left them in caddo so another rescue tagged them. 2 former fosters said she's made rhem pay for medical care and food and another said ahe ghosted them as well. I guarantee she'll be ss this to threaten to "sue me for slander" like she says to everyone else.

Then after a month verbally attacked me across Facebook over the same puppies acting as if I did something wrong when their OWNER was trying to re-home them herself saying I just abandoned those dogs who were never my dogs! I even provided proof that I had been helping them for over a year and all they did was block me. Then take glory for "Helping" the puppies they abandoned while leaving a hoarder to have 36 dogs in her house not caring about the parents.
