And a shoutout to Dr. Mike for his caring and gentle touch with my dog after she had a bad and unusual reaction to an injection. Not only did he care about my dog, he cared about my pocketbook. And in this COVID-19 environment, that really impressed me!

We had to go to a strange vet to put our sweet girl to sleep, so that was difficult to begin with. Our first visit to Hallett was satisfactory, but our last visit for euthanasia was beyond upsetting. Our girl gets so anxious when going to the vet. I usually give her CBD which helps. I explained this on our first visit and the vet suggested giving her something stronger to "relax her" before we bring her in. I explained to them that she's never been on medication in her life, but we agreed since it would help her be less afraid when we arrived. On the day of euthanasia, we were instructed to give her Trazodone three hours before. About 30 minutes after we administered the medication, it was like she was having a horrible neurological reaction. She started jerking uncontrollably and she couldn't even stand up. I immediately called and they a tech told me that can be a reaction. Really?? Why weren't we informed?? It took us another hour before she started to calm down. Then it was like she was totally out of it for the last two hours before we took her in. It was like we lost her the minute we gave her that pill, and we didn't get to enjoy her or give her a walk on her last few hours at home. When we arrived, I was obviously very upset and explained everything to the vet. She said there must have been some "miscommunication." No, I WAS NEVER TOLD THERE COULD BE A REACTION!! I never would have given her the medication. On top of all this, I would not recommend going through Hallet for cremation. We got her ashes back today. They are in a cheap, plastic container. I was supposed to get her paw prints, and there was nothing. No card, no apologies......nothing. Do your research before you use this clinic and certainly research any medication before administering to your beloved pet. Our experience will haunt me for the rest of my life!
