Foot and Ankle Associates provide great foot and ankle care for the community with their Taos…read morelocation. The staff and the doctors are friendly and knowledgable. They take the time to answer your questions and educate you on your condition. Highly recommend this practice to anyone that is suffering from foot and ankle pain.

I called before making an appointment to ask what it would cost to get orthotic insoles, as I knew…read moremy insurance would not cover them. I was told $350 then, and again when I visited the office. Now I find that my insurance company was billed $195 for my first office visit and that I have a copay of a little over $21. When I questioned this, I was told, well, sure, that's the price of the orthotics, but seeing the doctor is extra. That's like being told the price of a hamburger is $5 and then getting a bill for $10, because you've got to pay the fry cook. The interaction with Dr. Brandon was minimal. On my initial visit, which I've subsequently told is billed at a higher rate than others as a new patient visit, he spent about 5 minutes with me, looked at my feet from a distance of about 8 feet, and didn't even ask me to take off my shoes. The second visit, when I got the inserts, lasted only about 3 minutes, during which he watched me put the inserts into my shoes and told me they might take awhile to get used to. I expect there'll be another bill for this visit only somewhat slightly less than the last one. PS--my credit card was charged twice, for a total of $525, because they claimed that my first payment of $175 hadn't been put through by them, though in fact it had been. That took a couple of phone calls to straighten out. As for the insoles, they're fine, but it turns out I could have got them locally for a total price of $300, no billing to my insurance.

I saw Dr Lorin Brandon for the first time today about a ganglion cyst on the top of my foot…read more He xrayed & used ultrasound to get a clear idea of what was going on. A previous Dr at urgent care had declared it was not amenable to drainage & said my options are to leave it be... or have surgery. Dr Brandon WAS able to aspirate some fluid from it & injected cortisone to help it heal. I'm hoping it doesn't come back, but if it does, I'll return to Dr. Brandon. He was easy to talk to, professional & gentle. Thank you!

I saw Dr. Julien Adicho for an ingrown toenail. He sliced the nail from the flesh and gave me…read moreinstructions for how to manage it afterward. By Friday it was looking infected, so I called the office and asked to come in. I was told that Dr. Adicho was in Las Vegas. By the following Wednesday it was looking REALLY bad so I called the office again and asked to see the doctor. AGAIN I was told he was in Las Vegas... I said the situation was really bad so could I see someone else. I was told they did not "commingle" their patients. In other words, too bad, you're on your own. I ended up in the emergency room at Christus and was put on oral antibiotics and a better, newer antibiotic cream. I was told that the formula for Neosporin which Dr. Adicho suggested hadn't been changed in decades and was no longer effective. I ended up going to another podiatrist because it took a very long time for all of the damage done to heal. Dr. Adicho is incompetent and the office staff is unprofessional and uncaring. I wouldn't recommend these people to ANYONE!
