I just experienced my first massage by David Bigden, and it was unlike any massage I've ever had --…read moreI can't wait for my next appointment! David is a former chiropractor and has a thorough knowledge of the human body, and it's clearly his passion and his life's work. This was no typical massage -- he spent a lot of time before the massage asking questions about where I've experienced pain or stress, and told me that he typically massages deep, and that for some people, it can be painful, so it was up to me to let him know if at any time it was too much for me. I like his style -- he's not woo-woo, he's just direct and honest, and he really listened to me. Then the massage began -- not the typical broad, gentle sweeps, nope, he got right into the muscles, the lumps, the trigger points. I was amazed at how fast he found places I didn't even know were tensed-up. There were maybe 3 times when the pressure seemed more than I could take, but all I had to do was say so, and he'd ease up, but he didn't back-off of that place, he continued to work it through. In this session, I quickly trusted him to listen to me, and trusted his experience to know how much work each spot really needed. I felt safe with him the whole time, and we talked about lots of things, mostly the work he was doing and why, which helped me learn more about my body. He never gave unsolicited advice, he was just really helpful and so easy to be around. I had expected the massage would cost around $100, but it was considerably less than that, which was the icing on the cake! I'll be back every two weeks from now on -- although David said that after a while, I probably won't NEED a massage every two weeks! I highly, highly recommend, if you're looking for real work to be done on your body by a knowledgeable professional, and an undeniable sense of relaxation and improved health.
