There are several stages with different events throughout the day so you can pick and choose your own adventure! I really liked the fact that almost all of the vendors were local and weren't selling DH Gate/MLM garbage. There are a lot of bars and restaurants to choose from in this area and they bring in a bunch of food trucks as well, because it wouldn't be a carnival without fried food and games! Seemed like things changed fairly rapidly throughout the day so it's a great idea to come early and plan to stay for the duration of the event! There are even after parties to keep the fun going if you're so inclined.

I was in a pinch. I was looking to rent a bass amp for a show, and my original place fell through…read moredue to their rehearsal studios losing two bass amps that week. So I looked around, and a friend of mine told me about SIR. I didn't know there was one in Seattle, as I was only familiar with their large Hollywood, CA location. I took a look on their website and saw what they had available. I really only needed a combo amp since the venue was small. So I called them, and the staff there was very friendly. I asked about a bass combo, which is something they don't get a lot of calls for...so all they had was an Ampeg BA-500, which is a pretty solid combo and would work for what I needed. It was a bit tough to find the place, as it is only a block East of Stone Way. I got there and talked to Dave and Andre, who found out that two hours after I called THAT amp went out too. So they took care of me and gave me a deal on a GK 800RB head and a 4x10 classic Ampeg cabinet. A bit more than what I had anticipated on hauling, but good thing my girlfriend has a good sized back seat in her car. The gear got me through, and the process was quick and painless. The show went off great...and my bass sounded amazing. The lack of selection of combos was what was teetering between a 4 and a 5, but their service pushed them over the top. They were friendly and they knew what they were doing. If you need a quick rental, I highly recommend SIR.

Pinball machines: the pinball machines were a lot of fun to play and very nostalgic. There were a lot of different options and my favorite was definitely the Godzilla one in the corner. It was fun being able to play a competition against friends since they played up to four players. Prices were reasonable and most games ranged from $.50-$.75 and some of them had deals for two dollars for three plays which saves you a quarter. There's a small parking lot on the side which does fill up during busy times. Came here for a bday party and they accommodated a large group and it went well.

The space isn't overly large, but that actually works in its favor--it comfortably fits a good-sized audience while still feeling intimate, which makes performances more engaging. One of the things we liked most is the setting. It's located right in front of a park and open lawn, which makes it easy to turn the evening into more of an experience. You could easily do a picnic outside and then head in for a show. We came here to see Ablaye Cissoko & Cyrille Brotto, and the venue really complemented the performance. It's one of those places where the environment adds to the overall experience. Definitely worth checking out if you're attending an event here.

Who knew people were producing wine in South Park, I didn't until a few months ago. This past Saturday being the second Saturday of the month I decided to grab a friend and head down to South Park to taste their wines. It's in an industrial warehouse so don't expect a cute cozy tasting room but expect to taste next to the equipment and barrels which is always cool. For my $5.00 this past Saturday I was able to taste eight of their wines. I enjoyed three of them the other five were just OK but none made me go OMG this is good. The '05 Syrah, '04 Kestrel and '05 Conner Lee were my favorites that day, each of them different but with a big berry taste, I must have been in the mood for berries Saturday. As we all know everyone's palette is different so you may go and enjoy all eight. Tim the winemaker and Carol his wife were on site to answer any questions you had about their wines, Washington vineyards, or other wineries in the area. They've been making wine for distribution since 2001, prior to that they were what one would consider to be home wine makers. If it's a second Saturday and you're down in South Park check out Nota Bene cellars you might learn something new about wine. The one odd thing to me was before you could taste you had to fork over your $5.00, I know I have to pay but it was a little cold to be forced to pay before having a chance to pretty much look at the wines. Oh and if you decide to buy a bottle like most other vineyards your $5.00 tasting fee will go towards your purchase, I didn't buy anything here.
