I've been an anime fan for over 20 years and having grown up in this area, I've seen quite a few anime stores come and go. In this modern era where you can pretty much buy any anime merch you want online, Anime Station still manages to provide a unique, curated shopping experience with the following: 1) Constantly updating with new products and new anime goods. Everytime I visit, there's something different and it's fun to just browse. 2) Capsule machines. There's a good number of them and while they are just a bit pricey, the variety and unusual prizes are worth it. 3) Official goods. As far as I can tell, most of the items are officially licensed and displayed in an orderly, neat way. 4) Ichiban kuji. If you don't know, Ichiban kuji is a prize lottery where you buy tickets towards different tiers of prizes. There are ways to purchase the prizes online but it's much more convenient the way they have you purchase tickets here. The Ichiban kuji available here are a good mix of older anime and new ones. It's also really nice that they have the prizes on display so you have a better idea of the actual product. It's often hard to tell sometimes what a prize is really like from photos or sample illustrations online. Today when I stopped by, Kate and the young man working (sorry forgot his name) helped me out to purchase tickets for the Frieren Ichiban kuji and I was able to get the special last prize!! So I don't really like anime at all but I'm very much into short form animation and yurukawaii type mascots. I like to drop by different places like this and see what's available. Usually I'm just happy to find some Chiikawa or Sanrio stuff but this place really surprised me. There is merch from Youtuber Kawaisouni here. I'm a huge fan but I have never heard of any non-Japanese knowing about Npo-chamu etc. as I don't think the episodes are even subtitled in English... I was super happy and totally ready to grab an Opanchu Usagi keychain but it was a very unhappy $14, so I figured I could live without it. For a 2D acrylic keychain I thought this pricing was wack. Everything I saw was so expensive that anything I was remotely interested in became immediately unappealing when I realized how much it was. The gacha is $2 per token, with everything costing upwards of 3-5 tokens (if not sold out already). I am honestly not sure who could pay $10 for a tiny plastic trinket in this economy. Overall, I really wasn't very impressed by most of the things I saw (standard trending anime figures, plushies, etc), but I have to say the selection here was really surprising for it being such a small store (I wasn't able to find any Puppet Sunsun stuff though). So, if you're willing to pay an arm and a leg for niche Japanese stuff, it might be worth having a look.

We came in on a noble quest for Demon Slayer merch, armed w wallets and way too much enthusiasm!! This store is absolutely anime heaven. Not only did they deliver the goods, they didn't try to drown us in a sea of Funko Pop figures like some kind of vinyl tsunami. No offense to Funko, but sometimes you want a katana, not another tiny plastic head judging your life choices. Parking: Horrible. You'll have to circle back around 8-ish times to find one. Overall, would definitely stop by again when in the area. Parking is awful, but the shop is amazing!!

A fantastic selection of anime merch and blind boxes. They have such a good array of ichiban kujis to try! This review is belated, but I wanted to praise Li-Wei for being such an excellent store clerk! We went in on the Pokémon kuji and did fairly well. However, we tried to chase one of the prizes. He was so encouraging and positive that it made a financially painful decision so fun. They have a deal where you buy three kujis in one transaction, they give you a small discount. However, I think the more unique kujis are more expensive because they are rarer to find in the US. read more

Cool looking store from the outside, but the claw machines are a total ripoff! If you look at them closely, they're definitely designed to make you lose. We tried playing a few times and were always able to pick up the items, but then the item would slip out of the claw at the last minute. Super shady. Also, really expensive to play! read more

They have a wide selection of other board games and accessories too. They also have a library of Magic the Gathering and Pokemon singles. Their price points are comparable to what you might find on ebay, so minus the shipping and the wait of buying online, this place is superior. I don't want to get anyone who works at the store in trouble for doing their job, but the more approachable guys are the taller ones or whoever is working at register 3. The shorter dudes come with shorter attitudes. Lastly, they do a TON of game nights, do a lot of promotions, and have a lot of space!

Rock and hip hop seem to predominate the space in this small shop. They also sell CDs and tapes. Follow them on Instagram @vinylsaurs. This is the best way to know when they are open as they don't adhere to the schedule posted on Yelp. This is also how I found out about their amazing sale that Saturday.

I have to echo what other reviewers have said before: Gilbert is an amicable and informed record store owner. Update: This store is now my out and out favorite record store. The owner just installed a retro DJ system in the back. It was originally intended for roller rinks or large spaces. Sounds just like the system that would be used at a roller disco. Test out a favorite jam or look around while Gilbert tests another record collection. I heard another customer play Billy Stewart on the Vinylsaurs system, and the sonic funkiness echoed through the room. Vinylsaurs is now making a stronger push to sell tees, patches, pins and band merchandise. Gilbert is an expert at finding collector's items. I highly suggest contacting Gilbert to see if he does not have hard to find classic rock or classic rock fan gear. I recently saw a few rare Smiths records here. Great price, fast service!…read more What I got: - HK style 6 roses $90 (see picture) - Regular bouquet, mix of flowers $60 - Orchid lei $55 Pros: - Hong Kong/Canto style roses. If you're not familiar with this style, each rose is individually wrapped making the bouquet look very big and lush. She also offered to glitter the roses. She was very good at guiding me and offering different styles and colors. I wasn't too picky, it was right after mother's day and I was ordering to pick up less than 24 hour turnaround, but she was so accommodating. She offered wrapping related to the event. Also, the HK style must slightly preserve the roses, she said that bouquet would be good for weeks - I was also doing another regular bouquet and just let her know I wanted something pretty and fresh looking. She offered various color schemes. When I picked it up day of, she offered to put a small balloon in the bouquet that matched the theme of the event - I let her know we would be out and about for a long time and worried the flowers would dry out but she arranged the flowers in floral foam and then wrapped it all in waterproof wrapping. We were out for about 8 hours and they still looked great - The florist was so sweet and accommodating. Her English was not great, but we were still able to communicate well with each other - Plenty of parking in that lot - Price was very good for what we got - Quick turnaround. I should have gone in earlier to order ahead of time, but I realized it was mothers day weekend and let that pass before going in to order.
