This shop is large, well appropriated, and organized. The collection of back issues spans many eras of comics, and i was able to find many items to cross off of my want list here. I also purchased a Green Lantern power battery replica for a very fair price, below the current market value by a fair amount. Even my back issues were heavily discounted and I ended up paying somewhere around $0.50 a book! I left with a huge stack! The employees were all friendly, and knowledgeable, and in something I like seeing in shops like this, seemed to lean on each other to compensate for questions they didn't have answers to. Usually I don't leave reviews but I wanted to for this place. So I've been going for a while and just a few months ago finally signed up for a pull list. I collect mostly Transformers figures/comics and it's kinda hard for me to find a shop that gives me a little bit of everything about my favorite franchise. But a while back they had a HUGE selection of IDW Transformers back issues. I went crazy and got a bunch of them whenever I stopped by to pick up the current Skybound run. All the staff is super nice and genuinely super kind! I've had no bad experiences here and they're all super knowledgeable about the things I'm interested in buying. They also provide really good suggestions for me which is great. Overall a great comic book store and nice figure options! read more

Super great collection/selection and wonderful staff. I just visited about an hour before posting this and was met with such enthusiasm! I asked if a stroller was allowed and the lady with the purple and pink hair from New York encouraged me to bring it in for my baby. I shared with her that typically stores don't want you to bring them in. She disagreed with those comic shops lol. The graded comic selection was plentiful!!! Sooo many to choose from, great size store!! So happy I included this shop on my mans Father's Day comic shop tour. We bought a graded Vision and the Scarlet Witch comic. Decided to check out this store on my way to do some errands and when i entered there was a deep odor made hard to shop without feeling comfortable and to top it off i decided to check the wall for the new releases and was immediately scolded by some pink haired girl and told they weren't for sale even though there was no blockade or indication anywhere that they weren't for sale i will not be coming back to this comic book store i will take my business to Amazing Comics & Cards where they are more welcoming and helpful read more

I got there when it opened to sell some Transformers I'm done with, valued at about $300 , and the guy who worked there, AJ, made me wait an hour to make the trade. I was interested in one action figure, valued at $100. I told him he could choose what he thought was a fair trade. He chose about half of what I brought, (the half that had more value) and made his offer of about a dozen figures, which were much rarer and more valuable than the figure I wanted. I told him that he was ripping me off and made an excuse that he was busy and didn't have time to decide the value of the figures. It's always fun to come by and see all the 80s toys there is! The memories of me of driving my nephew to buy comic books kicks in, way back when he didn't have a car and I had to drive him around!! Ahhh nostalgia... Now I bring my youngest son... He loves his comic books, Transformers and anything with Spider Man. Customer service here is always awesome, helpful with any questions and super friendly. They know where everything is and what's in the shop! Sometimes my son walks in with ideas or questions about what he wants and the young lady has what he's looking for! :D !! TIP: Follow their Instagram page! Sometimes the store has events (or sales that have pretty good deals for us moms that are still funding this hobby) and they announce it on the Instagram! Collectibles, toys, comics... old and new. I was excited to take my son to Frank and Sons for a couple hours to explore and didn't realize its insanely popular now, the line looked like it was at least 2 hours long to get in and I didn't want to wait that long in the sun with a 4 year old so we left disappointed. Then I remembered I had this place bookmarked so we came to Phat instead. We were looking for comics for young children I could read to my son, they had a huge selection of comics and it was cool seeing people browsing different books and picking up bits of their conversation about how well written or how well drawn certain comics were. They offer a preorder system where they will set aside your favorite titles for you to pick up later. They have display cases full of interesting toys, I really liked looking through these and its a site to behold to see a bunch of Star Wars or Transformers all together. They looked so regal in a well lit case, almost like nice museum pieces. A lot of guest appearances and signings here from artists and actors/actresses. Looks really fun for local people. Phat made our nerd day and we left with a Mario toy and superhero comic for my son. read more

AWESOME STORY FOR YOU GUYS. So I was browsing today minding my own business about 10-15 minutes before closing, when I hear the young lady clerk ask a gentlemen "hi guys, do you need help finding anything today" she was all smiles! The gentlemen responded but condescendingly said " yeah, but can I ask you, do you always ask everyone if they are doing ok?" I was in here 2 weeks ago and no one ask me if I was ok, I been coming here alot and I don't appreciate you singling me out." "You don't have any rules about such and such, how long you worked here, is it a rule to ask people if they need anything" He then went on a targeted rant claiming "you know what we will end the conversation here but I will be contacting the owner to let him know that its not right for you to ask me if im doing ok" among other ignorant things he said. You could tell he came in and had other issues on his mind, so he was taking it out on the first person to come in contact with him. Let me say I was incredibly proud of the small young lady for calmly and nicely just playing off this very tall sturdy sized incredibly rude Caucasian mans attitude, as the man continued to target her and claim he would be contacting the owner. She just apologized and and said I help out everyone. Side note, due to my personal legal issues I have to avoid situations like this, but I did keep an eye on the man. My heart was racing and I was dying to intervene. THEN THE OWNER CAME OUT HAHAHAHA. The owner in the most professional calm manner confronted the man and asked the man "what the issue is" and said that "she is doing her job perfect and as she is suppose to, I am going to have to ask you to leave, I will not allow you to treat my employees that way " The man who was obviously caught off guard tried to explain why he should not be asked how he is doing or if he needs help.......... That he comes all the time and no one ever does that, that cant be a rule..... That she did not ask or confront anyone else and he "knows what he saw". Mind you I had arrived before them and left after them, she greeted everyone and is honestly an amazing and friendly and helpful clerk. I was actually about to leave, but after that interaction, I decided to drop a couple hundred dollars to support their business. After reading some of the reviews I have a strong feeling that the 2 gentlemen that came in, actually did come 2 weeks ago, and they left a review then. I can not confirm that it was them, but judging by the story they tell from 2 weeks ago, these guys just wanted to make trouble. I will be back to support these two, I hope that anyone who reads this story does as well. There is no place for someone like that, if you don't want to interact with people, you do not have to leave your house. Got a private message less than 24 hours after my review from a women who was with the 2 gentlemen, she clarified their side of the story that the issue is the clerk asked them to use sanitizer before coming in, then when they refused he was called cupcake. I'm a local to the community and started picking up the hobby again, once my son started finding my comics at my mom's house. His love for the hobby as since ebb'ed and flow'ed, but mine has only increased. Comic stores have become somewhat of a sanctuary for me. My line of work (well, retired, but when I do work) causes me to find these places as a place to unwind and be around good folks that just like to chat about comics. It's the modern-day barbershop. The team that works here is phenomenal! (John, AJ, Cory, Jess, and the list goes on...). They're fun, they collect too (sometimes taking the best issues, but can't be mad at em'...they deserve deals too!), and I've really enjoyed their friendship. Sometimes I find deals too, buried in the depths of all their collections, and guess what...they honor those deals! (For those curious, read my review of Comic Book Hideout in Fullerton (yikes...owner came out of nowhere and increased the price of the comic while I was purchasing it b/c she felt HER worker bee mis-priced it or mis-graded it...) I simply enjoy the hunt, the finds, and the sharing. I don't even do this for $ anymore (don't get me wrong, it feels good too when you find something in the dollar bins!)...but there is something more and better about the "hunting." read more

Great comic book shop! I love collecting action figures, specifically the Batman The Animated series from DC collectibles, given that these figures have been retired finding them is always a treat, finding them at a decent price is even better, that's where Phat collectibles comes in, they always restock with new stuff weekly! I was able to find a few rare figures for the pc. The staff was excellent in answering all of my questions, helped me check to see if they had more hiding and even gave me a deal since I bought quite a few. I'll definitely be back here again to see if they get any new figures! read more

These liberals blocked me on Instagram all because i had an opinion and spoke the truth. The situation was the green ranger actor was going to be there and i waited in line to get a ticket. the ticket was a piece of paper with a bar code on it to scan. It led you to a russian app to download to put you in some list. I thought it was wack. Then they said photos and autographs would cost money. So again i thought that was wack. I shared this on their Instagram for others to see but they blocked me. Poor managing. Ill make sure not to recommend this place. Don't support this poor excuse of a comic store. This is by far the biggest comic shop I've been inside. I didn't get my toes stepped on by a mouth breather in a Deadpool shirt once! I loved it. Tons of inventory and it's all neatly organized because they have so much space to spread out. It's almost like the Amoeba Records of comic shops because they have alot more than comics. They have tons of everything to pops from Star Wars action figures, Marvel, DC etc. they back issue bins here's are enormous. Phat has aisles and aisles of comic books all in alphabetical order. My quest to add to my growing Funko Pop! collection continues, and this led me to Phat Collectibles in La Habra. I knew about this place for years, when they had multiple stores. It came to my surprise that they had to close their other location, and this is the last one standing. Talk about a tough business! This location is off Imperial Boulevard, west of Harbor Boulevard. My friend Linda suggested we check it out, as she thought they had a decent selection of Funko Pop! Unfortunately, they didn't and Karen and I found nothing to buy. Yearly check-up This is just a quick check up for Phat Collectibles. I stop in at least once a week, but usually more. The staff is always friendly and I get a really nice greeting from everyone. This location is their "mega-store" so they have an awesome selection of toys and collectibles you won't find at other shops - and even if you do, who cares? PC has the best prices with their generous discounts to pull customers. Phat continually helps me relive my youth (in a good way) and having a store like this has really helped revitalize my love for comics. Stop by, don't be afraid to ask questions, and pick up that toy you wanted as a kid but never got... I'm looking at you early 90s TMNT toy. **Edit 9/25 I feel compelled to note that these reviews were written for the Anaheim location, which is now closed. WOW! What a selection of toys, action figures, anime, buttons, nostalgic video games and much much more. My mind was truly blown when I stepped inside into what looks like a huge comic store but is really so much more. The sheer amount of comics and graphic novels available here is out of this world. Turn the corner and action figures and comic busts and statues galore line the inside cases. Video games ranging from old school NES to Game Boy to Playstation 2 and X-Box. I definitely spent a cool half hour just sucking in the awesome that is this store. Unfortunately my cash is a bit tight so I was unable to purchase anything this go around but I saw several statues and busts that have my name on them in the hopefully not too distant future. This is a dream store for anyone in love with comics, anime, action figures etc... I will be back soon and keep up the awesome work with this store. This little gem is super inconspicuous. You would never guess how much amazing things fit into one little shop that does not look like much from the outside. I stopped by with a family member who was looking to pick up some Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Not wanting to take them to Walmart I brought them here thinking that they may be more interested in seeing what a shop like this could have. Upon walking in, I was hooked. There is life size figures inside, graphic novels, comic books, cards (Pokemon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.), a wide assortment of Pop Figures and also some old school video game games and consoles. My family member ended up not buying anything this trip, but was amazed at how awesome everything was and how neat everything was organized. There was no real pressure to purchase anything, and they were very willing to help you out with whatever you were looking for. read more

I've been going to them since 2010 at all 3 of the locations they've had. Since then, the quality of both what they sell, customer service, employees and management have fallen hard and is a shadow of what it used to be. What used to be fair prices on both the purchase and selling side is ridiculous tilted now. I went in to sell 3 Mezco figures, each one alone cost $90 and on the secondary market are $150+ each. All 3 of them had never even been displayed. They hadn't even been opened yet and the packages were mint. I had checked what the sold listing prices were immediately before going to the shop and knew what would have been a reasonable offer for the 3 figures would be. They offered me $100 for all 3 of them. $33.33 for each of them. An absolute joke. Ended up selling them on eBay for $150 a piece. Find another shop that won't take advantage of you, because I did. Get you a pull list and come pick up your comics quick and easy and get 10% off purchases. Idk the exact details/limitations on the 10% off but ask about it. Everyone is cool people here and are always super friendly and helpful even when I ask dumb questions like do they still have that certain DC Black Label issue? A little late to that party. While driving down Euclid my nerd friend yelled "Look at that place!!!!! Let's go!!!!" I instantly cut across many lanes of traffic and headed on in to the parking lot. Kind of strange being in this building since I was in it as a kid back when it was a bank. As the name implies the main focus here is collectibles. There's all sorts of action figures and toys from anime, video games, comics, Star Trek, Star Wars, Voltron, etc. Lots of really cool stuff. I was a big transformer collector as a kid as was my friend so it was fun looking at all the old school transformers they had on display. This place is so not for me. It is for people who like Star Wars, Star Trek, comic books, figurines of World of Warcraft characters, old school toys from the 80's, Halo, G.I. Joe, Marvel, etc... So why was I here? For my boyfriend and my brother. They were in heaven!! I will admit this place is pretty cool if you are into that stuff. They both said the prices were very reasonable, and even though neither of them purchased anything, they said they probably will in the future. I'm hoping they offer gift cards because I never know what to get either of them and this would be the perfect place for them to come spend some money. I must say though, this place made me sort of happy. They had all the Holiday Barbies that I collected when I was younger, and i'm happy to see they are not going for much money. I would have been bummed if they were super expensive knowing that I sold them on eBay years ago for next to nothing. I was visiting L.A. with the GF and heading to Disneyland. Got lost and saw this place. The comic nut in me had to stop. Huge store. Lots of good stuff and wished I had more time to browse, but I made do with the little time I had. Found a comic I already had, but I had damaged it, so I figured I'd buy another. Bought it. The one I bought had a bit of damage to it so I asked to exchange and they said sure. Awesome. This made me want to spend even more money, but we were there for Disneyland and it was already nearing noon. Again, huge selection of great stuff. Excellent customer service. In the world of comic book stores this is one of the better ones in Southern California. This is the type of store others should strive to become. The management / staff first off are friendly and gracious, so that's a lot of the curbside appeal to running a good business. True service with a smile. The selection is large, blending in offering a lot of comic books... current new releases, back issues, valuable bronze / silver age, variant and rarities along with deep discounted $0.50 bin books (and I went on a day they had a 75% back issue sale too!). The older back issues for those who collect gold and silver age isn't as robust, but books from the 1990's to present seem plentiful. Beyond comic books, they do play host to celebrity guests every now and then, which they promote on their website. The day I went, they had superstar artist, Ale Garza appearing for signing and sketching at the store. The store has a huge selection of action figures and statues along with other stuff worth checking out if you're into that, offering nearly "something for everyone" of all ages, genders and interests who generally like pop culture collectibles, i.e. nerd novelties and geek chic. The layout is much better than most stores which often feel congested and cluttered. This is well organized and nicely presented, so it is almost aesthetic like a museum in it's presentation of their merchandise. I haven't collected comics in maybe 15+ years but every now and then I like to pop into the comic store and look around. Service: the people that work here are pretty cool. they seem to like working there and it makes a big difference! it makes it fun to be in there as a customer. Store: this store is pretty big. comics on one side, video games in one corner, and toys in the rest of the place. everything is pretty nice and organized. Parking: good sized parking lot plus another parking lot on the side for the other stores. even when Phat Collectibles' parking lot is filled, you still should be able to find parking in the other lot. read more

This Comic Book store is probably the biggest in Orange County. They always have gaming events, Comic Book Artists signings and just a great atmosphere of Comic related things. I came here recently for a Marvel Vs. Capcom game tournament, it was eventful. The provided the contestants with pizza and drinks, movies playing in the back of the store for people who are waiting, very friendly people and just a great collection of things at the store. I have never played the Xbox version of the game, but they gave users a joystick to use instead of the xbox controller which was nice. Next time I come here, I am coming here with a lot of money because they have so many good things to buy! read more
