When I settled on celebrating a recent huge accomplishment in my life with a boudoir shoot, I…read morechecked with Yelp and started following some Instagram accounts. I was most drawn to the photos coming out of Nine23 Boudoir. Ashley, the owner, is very down to earth and approachable. As I sat in the chair to get my hair and make up done by Andi, Ashley struck up a conversation with me. When Andi finished and I looked like a goddess from the neck up, Ashley helped me pick a couple of suitable clothing options I had brought with me. Once I was dressed, then we spent the next couple of hours taking photos and various rooms of her studio. Ashley talked me through each pose and even showed me by contorting her own body into the pose she wanted me to mimic. I appreciated her thoroughness and her patience. Then, to get just the perfect shot, she would either crouch down or jump up on a piece of furniture or stand behind a prop. She was moving around more than I was. When we were done with the photographing, she sent me out to find myself some lunch. When I came back an hour later, she was ready to show me the proofs. They were all so amazing! I kept thinking to myself, who is that gorgeous woman in these photos? I wanted to order all of them! To help me stay within budget, she presented my photos to me in smaller groups to help me make informed choices. Yes, these are emotional choices for sure. But Ashley helped me look at them in a very specific way so I will get great representation in the album I'm ordering. I cannot wait to see my final product. I am so proud of it. Thank you, Ashley!

My personality is far too bold for that, so I scheduled a shoot with Ashley's studio. I cannot have been more happy with what she and Marissa did. I was worried that they may not be able to do my hair and makeup because I am a mocha-skinned Black woman, but I looked divine. I loved almost all 120 photos, and it hurt to cut down my options! I.
