I was then informed that the higher cost was because I was not using insurance. While I understand that insurance status affects pricing, this was never disclosed ahead of time, and I was never asked whether I planned to use insurance or pay cash. Had I been told the correct price upfront, I would have waited until next month when my new insurance plan begins and done the blood work then. When I questioned the discrepancy, the receptionist was cold and detached, taking a very matter-of-fact tone rather than showing any effort to understand my perspective or acknowledge the miscommunication. The main issue here is transparency and patient care. I left feeling like just another number, with little concern for how the situation affected me or whether I chose to return. Clear communication upfront would have completely avoided this experience.

At one point the undiagnosed infection grew to the size of a golfball. Outside of the initial cost and humiliation, the expenses have grown extensively due to numerous other medical consultations and services through the process of diagnosing and correcting the issue.
