Anita Rochelle Boutique and Fine Art is one of my favorite shops on Sutter Street. The shopping experience starts from the street, where there is usually an outrageously cute coat or two on display outside the store. In fact, when I recently noticed the pop-up shop at Palladio, the coats were the first thing to draw me in, just like at the home store on Sutter Street. (You can find my review for the pop-up shop by scrolling down three reviews, or by clicking here: https://bit.ly/3H6rq3u ) The first time I stopped by Anita Rochelle Boutique & Fine Art, I'm pretty sure it was just around the corner, at 303 Riley Street, in the space which is now occupied by The Vault. Back then, the shop was called The Bag Lady. When it moved around the corner, to where it is now, it became The Bag Lady Boutique & Sutter Street Artist Gallery. As popularity continued to grow, The Bag Lady finally became Anita Rochelle Boutique and Fine Art. These days, the boutique carries designer women's fashion, plus overcoats, purses, and jewelry. The walls are plastered in local art, which is also for sale. All of the items sold here are unique, and most of them are surprisingly reasonably priced. Most days, you can find the owner herself tending to her beautifully decorated store. She's very friendly and easy to talk to, even for a shy person like me. The boutique sometimes hosts special events, such as this weekend's Trunk Show featuring a designer from New York. Special events are usually listed in advance on Facebook. Overall, this is one of the best shops on Sutter Street. I highly recommend stopping by to check it out. read more

Beautiful clothing, excellently curated and sized for women of all shapes. This boutique is unlike anything in the area. I love coming here and finding a truly eclectic piece of clothing or outfit that is stylish and tailored. The owner Anita is delightful as well as knowledgeable about the designer brands she carries. It's all well and good with the owner of this store, unless you have an issue with something you bought. I have called her twice, visited the store and left my name and number to advise her of a problem with a blouse I bought there. Anita will not respond, no matter how polite and patient I have been. This is very poor business practice and I am out the money I paid for my blouse - that can never be worn again. DO NOT SHOP THERE. read more

I was having a girls day with my sister, in Folsom, and this shop was one of the few shops we actually went in to. The shop was beautifully decorated but the gorgeous Coat Dress outside was what drew us in. As we looked through the shop we noticed that each piece we saw had distinctive detailing whether a blouse , Dress, or pant. They have very unique pieces and Anita was amazing, and quite charming. This is the first time I'm reviewing a business that I visited but did not purchase a thing. Although her purses are stylish and affordable, I'm just not that trendy. I happened by here today and was immediately drawn in at the sight of cute little girl's clothes and headbands. I got some great things for my infant daughter and the prices are more than reasonable. I was even more impressed when the owner told me that many of the children's items were handmade with the assistance of her 10-yr-old daughter (hats, headbands, many of the clothes, hairclips etc.) The owner was incredibly friendly and very helpful and you can be sure I'll be back here time and time again! read more

I love her clothing line she carries, she also has shoes, purses & accessories to make that great outfit complete. I've been going to her store for a few years now & always come out with something. This cute little store has the best selection of handbags I've ever found. I always buy gifts here for my family. The owner is always coming back from a show in LA or Florida and seems to stay one step ahead of the fashion trends. Her prices are excellent! Like $25 to $35 for most bags and $60 for beautiful color leather bags. She also has some scarves in the under $20 range. Love her. Love her store. read more

Wonderful clothing and outstanding service! My friend referred me and I had a great experience. They carry lots of sizes, including some for larger ladies. I bought two tops and a pair of slacks. I thought it would be more expensive since it is a boutique, but the prices were reasonable and the quality seems very good. I will definitely be back! read more

Love this store! They have a cute section for little kids, and another section with other clothes (which I did not check out) and of course, the Infamous Handbags! At the owners request (after mentioning I would go on Yelp and rate her store), she asked that I take some pictures and upload them. You ask, I do.... except that I can't figure out what happened to the 'upload photos' button. Yipes! I bought this cute, creamy white bag for a reasonable price. There were several other bags that I found really desirable. The owner (Anita) also has this great card, where you buy 5 and get half off... nice incentive to come back! I bought my daughter this cute little flower necklace, a big puffy purple flower with a nice lime green center... too cute, can't wait to see if she likes it! read more

I truly love The Bag Lady! From unique bags to chic clothing and jewelry, The Bag Lady has great merchandise at prices that allow you to keep some cash to put in your gorgeous new bag! Every time I carry a Bag Lady purchase, I get so many compliments. I refer people to The Bag Lady all the time, but tell them they will never find the same bag I have because Anita makes sure each purchase is unique and special. Customer service is also great! My college-age girls and I love this place. It's hard to visit the shop and not walk out with a new purse, scarf or clothing item. The owner is exactly who you would want to find running a cute boutique like this one--she's friendly, helpful and has a terrific fashion sense. Women will often stop me when I'm carrying one of the purses I've bought here wanting to know where I got it. This is my first Yelp review, I have never experienced a time where I felt the need to share an unfortunate situation with a business until today. I was just extremely offended by the owner of this establishment. I needed to return a purse because the zipper broke after one week. Instead of an apology, I was told by the owner's dtr. that she couldn't give me a refund unless she spoke with her mother. The owner should not have left her dtr. in charge and not equipped to handle this type of simple transaction. I explained to her that the proper way to do business (legally speaking) was that if a piece of merchandize is faulty, that the business should give the customer their money back. (instead of only offering store credit to potentially buy more faulty merchandize). Her dtr. spoke back to me with a very rude tone in her voice. For some strange reason, this was construed by the owner as threatening her dtr. I was offended .I would never threaten anyone or talk to someone in a way that they felt threatened, especially over a 30 dollar purse. This situation was handled very inappropriately. All I wanted to do was to return a flawed piece of merchandize. I did get my money back and also a very rude insult along with it. read more
