After my partner's ring, which had been made in the Philippines, was stolen during a home burglary I decided to stop by to see if it could be recreated. I met with the owner William Gray who examined, measured and hand sketched my matching ring. He also explained the entire process from start to finish and provided me with a surprisingly reasonable quote. We picked up the ring today and couldn't be more pleased. The unique white and yellow gold design required creating two molds, one for each type of gold, which after being cast were carefully fused together. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind. My fiance got my custom engagement ring from William. I wanted a raw (uncut) diamond that most jewelers told me was very hard to find. Somehow, William found a perfect stone in about one week and he was so excited to be working with something so unique. The final product ended up being a round solitaire with a reverse taper, the band is rose gold and the prongs are white gold. Had a wonderful experience working with William Gray - my wife and I had simple rose gold wedding rings made 35 years ago, but we both out grew them. My wife wears mine now but I decided it was time to get my own. William made a wonderful replacement for me. It was a bit tricky sizing it since it is more square than round, but William did a great job and it fits perfectly. Great shop with great customer service. Went in to get a second opinion on my loose stone on my engagement ring that my future mother in law's company in South Africa made. The first place told me I needed to completely replace two prongs in order to secure it, which seemed a little over the top. I walked into Anjevine and both the female and male working were so kind and helpful and agreed that it did not need to be completely replaced. My Mother found a ruby (my birthstone) at a gem mine in North Carolina. I took it to a lapidary & had it made into a 4 carat cabochon. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it on a ring. Excellent service and beautiful work. A little disorganized. On our first visit, William educated me and my fiancé about diamonds and custom ring designing. We were impressed by William's knowledge and years of experience and were instantly sold on using him as our jeweler. By the end of the process, he gave us a good deal more than we paid for, although I am still unclear how the charges broke down. He did not provide a detailed receipt and he estimated price for the gold was half as much as it actually costed. I think the reason he gave us a vague receipt was because he knew we were on a budget and fudged the numbers in our favor. There were some negatives that cannot all be attributed to Anjevine: we live an hour and a half away so we had to drive multiple times to his shop (not his fault), the ring size was too big when the gold was poured (he apologized and attributed it on feeling ill when we designed the ring, possibly resizing it after we left in error of thought), and the band did not turn out to be what I imagined (our fault for not changing more at the wax mold stage). We had to make an extra trip to his shop to get the ring resized, but he did it in an hour while we waited and apologized profusely. He was accommodating through the entire process. William did everything he could to make us happy customers and was always friendly and informative. The ring isn't exactly as I wanted it to be but it's mostly our fault and I would still go back to William for future ring designs. read more
