I had a great experience in the beginning. When they knew I had a case, they communicated. But after some weeks, they never replied emails or phone calls. Their assistant was very rude. Never gave advice and they felt annoyed when I asked a question. I decided to ask for another opinion and I am glad I did!!!! It felt like the person I was speaking with had a bit of a comprehension issue. I had to keep repeating myself. She certainly wasn't interested in the facts of my case. These law offices need to do better with their call center training. I chatted on line with their pop up then they called me. I spoke to one csr who transferred me to another. The second csr put me on hold to read my issue that I sent in the chat. After asking all kinds of questions, she proceeds to tell me that Ankin law does not do civil rights cases? What, then why is it plastered all over the website? I asked her why she asked tons of questions if they don't handle civil rights cases? No answer. Their email to me after, insinuates that I further don't understand what they 'told me,' which is upsetting, of course I understand that they might not take on every case. My disgust is not in what they said, but how it was said to me! It's having common courtesy and sensitivity when speaking to someone, especially someone who may have some mental disability or difficulty communicating to begin with. I had the most unprofessional and callously rude experience from an attorney, Raquel Gross, I spoke to by phone in a consultation. She listened to my story at first, but immediately came to the conclusion that my story doesn't fit their criteria. I had a few questions as to why she feels that way, and maybe I didn't offer some information that she needed to hear, but she flat out refused to even speak to me any longer. I was perfectly nice and polite, as I always am, when she suddenly became aggressive and rude. I was only trying to ask if she could could give me an example of what I would need to make this a prospective case, and she proceeded to aggressively state to me, "Oh let me just go ahead and tell you that we are not going to dive into hypothetical, and what ifs, we don't work like that here. We are not going to take your case." She then hung up the phone call while I was in mid sentence. I wasn't even given the dignity of sympathy for what I had experienced, which is why I called. She treated me like I wasn't worth her time, her expertise nor compassion. Sure, she is not my friend, but she is supposed to be a professional who works with the law to find monetary settlements for those who are suffering, injured and in need. She treated me unlike I've been treated by a purported professional over the phone. I expect that from kids working in grocery stores, not full grown adults that have passed the bar. I did not expect her to take my case. I did, however, expect her to talk to me like a person with a reasonable amount of respect and dignity. She failed on that, and verbally abused a person who is suffering in pain possibly due to the topic of discussion, medical malpractice. I heard of Ankin Law from watching the Steve Wilkos Show. I assumed Steve was referring a reputable law firm. I referred my brother in law to Ankin after he slipped on something in a grocery store and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. He broke his hip, needed surgery, spent some time in the hospital and was transferred to a therapy center for a month. My sister contacted Ankin Law firm and I'm sorry she did. After a year of getting passed from attorney to attorney, which apparently was useless, she was told they couldn't do anything. I guess if you are older, you aren't worth their time. I still watch Steve Wilkos, but I have to change the channel when Ankin commercials come on because I get angry thinking about how my family was treated. read more

First, this review is for a specific attorney, I had a previous attorney (Jonel Metaj) but he left Ankin and my case was automatically referred to attorney Brien DiNella, let me say, this guy will NOT care about you or anything related to your workers comp case. I've repeatedly let him know that I've been trying to pay rent and food and need my compensation for time off from my shoulder surgery. I had surgery on my shoulder on Sept 23rd. TO THIS DAY, I have not received a cent in time off for SURGERY. PRETTY MUCH EXACTLY WHAT WORKERS COMP IS FOR. This weak pansy has no fighting spirit. I talked to him about why my benefits were denied and his response was always, "Well, they're saying that I was approved for light duty" Well Brien, I just gave you notes that said "OFFICE JOB ONLY" and my previous job didn't have office duty work. I looked up the law and light duty only applies if it IS AVAILABLE. Also, I HAD TO LOOK UP THE LAW MYSELF to find that out, with HIM, being the lawyer. Plus, I am in a cast, so how am I supposed to work, while in a cast and recovering while using pain killers? The fact that he just stated what the insurance company states and has the demeanor of just throwing up the white surrender flag with no opposition to what they're saying shows that he does not care about you. Okay, so eventually I called him and told him I need to pay RENT and FOOD after BEING IN A CAST for months and still recovering from my shoulder surgery. He stated that eventually, after filing an emergency motion that they AGREED TO PAY for at least one month of me being in the cast (I was in the cast for around three months, but I'll take what I can get because I need the money) Then after no receiving ANY check for two weeks. I HAVE TO CALL HIM, and he states that they changed their mind and HE MADE NO FREAKING EFFORT TO CONTACT ME AT ALL. AFTER I'VE BEEN WAITING TO PAY RENT AND NOW HAVING TO DIG INTO MY SAVINGS AND ASK FAMILY FOR MONEY FOR SOMETHING ASK STRAIGHTFORWARD AS RECOVERING FROM SURGERY. This is unjust and unreasonable delay and he should automatically be pushing for penalties from the workers comp without me having to say anything but his demeanor has just be a nonchalant, uncaring, and monotone in explaining that they changed their minds.This guy might be a psychopathic. Absolutely no care or empathy whatsoever in his demeanor to me and I can only speak about him and not my previous attorney (Jonel Metaj) as he was good and this doesn't apply to any other attorneys to Ankin, although he is still a representative of them. Ankin needs to fire this guy as every attorney has a duty to operate in his clients best interest and he is actually committing malpractice with the amount of non caring he puts in fighting for a clients rights in workers comp. WHY EVEN BECOME AN ATTORNEY BRIEN IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO FIGHT FOR YOUR CLIENTS RIGHTS? If I could give a 0 out of 5 I definitely would. I injured myself on the job back in December of 2019. I started seeing a doctor that my employer sent me to when I injured myself and was told that I had strained my neck and to take it easy for a bit being on light duty at work. I started to have much more complications over time where my neck popped from time to time causing shooting pain down my whole right arm, mid chest and mid back. I had an MRI done to see what was going on and they told me that I have two herniated disks C5 and C6. They had me do injections and therapy. I did the injections two different times and did therapy which nothing was helping what so ever. Doctor wanted me to see another specialist for another opinion to see what other options we may have. When seeing this specialist he had nothing of mine in hand to review the MRI report and said he would let me know when he gets it and reviews it. I left that day thinking to myself this was a waste of time being asked what is the problem when he clearly knew what the issue was and then the following morning I received a call from Sedgwick saying you are clear to go back to work as they said in the report that there is nothing wrong with you and that you don't need any further treatment or therapy. I was still in a lot of pain with no results what so ever. I went back to work on Full Duty reinjuring myself yet again because I am weak in one side and I was sent back to their doctor yet again. I was referred by a friend of mine to reach out to Ankin Law so they can work this case of mine. I began seeing my own specialist and doctors and even went to ATI for Physical Therapy. I began all of this in May of 2020 and started the case with Brien DiNella. He made me believe this whole time for a year and two months that he has been doing so much for me when in reality he did nothing for me at all. The WORST attorney I have ever met. I have never seen him in person before but have always talked over the phone or by email. If I needed to ask any questions it felt as I was calling my father who was busy at work and couldn't get a full minute of his time over the phone. Brien was very rude most of the time when talking to me over the phone. At times he would never answer my calls nor return my calls. I would email him at times and have to send a follow up email for him to respond to. I did treatment with my own specialist and therapy for 4-6 months and nothing helped out so my last option was to have surgery. In March of this year is when I seen my specialist and told him that I wanted to have surgery. I reached out to Brien letting him know that I chose to do surgery so he was aware of the situation keeping him in the loop of things. He said we now wait till we get an answer from Sedgwick. A week went by nothing, two weeks went by I reach out to Brien and said what is the hold up. He goes you need to wait. I will call you when I know what's going on. I said okay but I am in a lot of pain and this is taking so long. He said he would said out an Emergency Motion which would speed up the process. I thanked him for that and waited another 2-3 weeks. I was mentioned that Sedgwick has a doctor who has to review the report too so they can see if I in fact need surgery or not. I already knew in the back of my mind they were going to say no. Why? Because I hear about this all the time when someone goes through workers comp its always denied for whatever reason. So on Friday May 21st 15 minutes before Brien got off of work he decided to reach out via email to share the report he received stating that they denied surgery. He said nothing in the email besides sharing it. I called him when I seen it at 5:15pm and was told he was already out of the office for the weekend. I was very upset that my attorney failed to reach out by phone to talk it over with me and tell me what the next step would be. Instead he shared the report knowing that it was the weekend and did not care to help any further. I had to reach out to a new attorney someone who is willing to go the extra mile to assist with this case. My new attorney had to ask numerous time to sign the release so he can take over the case. He called and emailed and Brien took long as usual to return back to a call or email. After 4 weeks my new Attorney reached out letting me know that Brien finally signed the release. Gave me some bad news mentioning that Brien had no records of mine. ONLY THING was a receipt he had on file for a co pay that I had to take care of at a doctors office. Huge waste of time. I could have had surgery and went back to work already. I don't ever recommend someone to use Ankin Law and definitely not using Brien DiNella for any services. A whole year a two months went down the drain and I will never get that time back. Have been in extreme pain for way to long and this guy did nothing. On top of it all he also lied to me that he put a Emergency Motion in to speed up the process. HUGE WASTE read more
