Their "design" services consisted of using the Pinterest photos that we provided and some basic CAD drawings. They didn't show up to an initial meeting, (admitted putting it on their calendar incorrectly, this should have been a red flag), didn't read or respond to multiple emails with important information, didn't incorporate several specific written requests into project plans, and continuously wasted time, but they certainly charged for every minute they may have been even thinking about our project. Of course what we paid would have been a small portion of our overall project budget, but to have received virtually no timelines or final plans, or even basic communication, and to have wasted months of time that could have been used actually planning and completing the project, we decided to cut our losses. Before posting a review, we reached out to the owner, Jeff, (I am always very hesitant to post something that could negatively impact someone's livelihood), but from his defensive response it seems like this is just how they do business, and I feel our experience should be available to anyone considering using their services. We recently purchased a new construction home that was built by another builder, but we wanted to…read moremaximize an unused space in our kitchen by adding a custom pantry cabinet and hidden coffee bar. Woodland Construction Group exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The space originally had an open niche next to the oven and microwave, and we wanted a floor to ceiling pantry that looked like it had been installed with the original kitchen. Woodland Construction Group custom built and installed a beautiful pantry cabinet, and the match to our existing cabinetry is absolutely perfect. The color, style, trim work, and finish blend seamlessly with the rest of the kitchen. You truly cannot tell it was added after the home was built. What makes this cabinet even better is the functionality. They incorporated custom pull out drawers and installed electrical outlets inside the cabinet, allowing us to create a hidden coffee bar. We can keep our coffee maker, blender, and other small appliances tucked away behind closed doors while still having easy access to everything. The pantry storage is incredible, and the pull out shelves make it easy to organize and reach items without digging through deep cabinets. There we were, with a new range in the middle of our kitchen floor, me out of town, and no idea how to get the counter modified so we could enjoy it. Fortunately, my wife throught of Eric's Construction Company, and she called him. He promptly came and sized up the job, and gave us his professional opinion of what he thought we needed and would be happy with. His estimation was very reasonable, so we agreed, and he begun work shortly after. The job had it's own particular complications, as they all seem to, but he knew exactly what to do, and quickly and expertly worked through every one. The work was completed in 10 hours, and in two days, a PGE inspector came to review the gas connection - he arranged for their visit - and soon after, he completed the finishing touches, and we were in business. The section of the counter that has been cut out for the range (where the old top range we were replacing had been previously) looked perfect. He was right about the height of the counter being too high for the range, and his remedy, a platform under the range to bring the top level with the counter, just blended in. We were very happy working with Eric. His pleasant and professional conversation with us gave us confidence that he knew what he was doing, and the subsequent work he completed with out a hitch confirmed our confidence. His estimation was on the mark, and a deal considering the quality of the work and service he performed. I know that we'll go back to him for other home improvement construction we have in the future, and we are happy to recommend Eric's Construction to others.
