Coffee in the room was terrible. Coffee in the lobby was much better. Charging a dollar for a bottle of water seems wrong. Just charge a little more for the room and include "free" water. HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Ruined my Holiday weekend!!!! Power went out hours after checking in Friday July 3, 2026 and the management didn't do anything about it to help customers. No A/C in rooms, no lights in bathrooms & living areas, no cable, ice machines, vending machines, pool & hot tub, game room, fitness center, no breakfast entire weekend, microwwave's didn't work, irons didn't work in rooms. I had 2 King Suites over $800 and nothing done to compensate for horrible conditions. It was over 90 degree's all weekend, had to go by cordless fans for rooms to stay somewhat cool. I was in town for the Cinetopia film festival this weekend and I didn't want to make the 45 to 60 minute drive home Saturday night, since I was seeing movies on Sunday, so I opted to stay here. One of my credit cards gives me a $150 off deal if you book on the Delta site, with a prepaid stay, and this qualified: it was $175 for a King Executive suite (basically one room but with a sitting area), or I could've paid $160 for a standard king room. Since I was paying either $10 or $25, I opted for the larger room. Pros: -Decently sized room -Microwave, although we didn't use it, and mini fridge -Little sitting area (2-person couch, chair, table) -Super hot shower, although my fiance used it first and said it took a while to warm up -Surprisingly nice TP, like definitely 2- or 3-ply. Con: they wedge it into the holder and it doesn't spin, so I had to take it out. -Free breakfast, but pretty basic: some hot options, like sausage, potatoes, and eggs, but mostly cold options like cereal and certain breads. They did have a nice juice selection, they had orange juice and a V8 blend. -Comfy bed with lots of pillows -A lot of random amenities like a billiards area and other games, pool area, outdoor patio-type area, etc. -Easy access to US-23 Cons: -When we got to the room there were two bottles of water with a sign that said "enjoy a refreshing bottle of water, $1 each." Why not provide those complimentary for the room and add $2 to my nightly rate? I'd prefer that. -Not a lot of places to charge devices, at least not near the bed. My fiance had two slots in the clock radio, I believe it was, but they eventually stopped working. I had to plug my phone in near a lamp across the room. -This is a small one but housekeeping knocked on our door at 10:45 a.m. today while we were trying to prepare for 11:00 a.m. check out. I feel like they should know what rooms are checking out on what days? Not sure about that. While this is an older hotel, I enjoyed the quiet room, comfortable bed, amenities and free breakfast buffet each morning. The coffee was always hot and ready by 7 a.m. We did not have time to utilize the pool or hot tub but we did get to use the small fitness room. The second floor has a pool table, shuffle board and Foosball table. The hotel staff is extremely nice and very helpful. Kerri, in sales, was very helpful, even before we arrived and answered questions I had about the area. Parking is close to room entrances and the room was very clean. The water got super hot in the sink and bathroom so beware if you are just using the hot. We appreciated the Dove soap, shampoo and conditioner in locked dispensers. The breakfast was generous and a variety of items but it is tucked into a tiny corner of the lobby and it was challenging to navigate. Overall, this is a good place to stay and a great value for the nightly price. Easy access on and off US 23 made for easy travel in and out of the area. read more

Just be mindful going in and out as I came across a little situation. a friend that was with us experienced this: As I was walking out of the hotel, there was a guy that walked by the front door. I assumed he was just another guest but the way he stared at me , and i mean blatantly stared at me and started to follow me was a creepy, so I turned around and looked the other direction. This hotel is a hidden gem! It's so nice and comfortable! The rooms are clean and cozy. Perfect for a getaway or a stay for a wedding or any event. The pool is nice and they have a nice game room on the 2nd floor. It's located right on Carpenter road near many restaurants and shopping. The ambience is stunning. They do have a nice gazebo outdoors but it was too cold for me to sit out there. But in warmer weather I would recommend it. Let's start with the positives: I called ahead to ask on pricing and amenities. Prompt phone answer with detailed information was given by a male that answered the phone. The suite was reserved with the king size bed and jet tub. (Unimpressive) There was a clean mini fridge, a didn't really look at a coffee pot that was there (do you pay for coffee pods like you pay for the bottled water there to tempt to? I don't know) I enjoyed the Dove soap products as well. the breakfast in the morning was HOT food which is rare for hotels. But they offered everything- cereal, coffee, juice, bagels, some form of scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, sausage... excessive amount of options in a tiny little cozy corner kitchen side area. They had an indoor pool indoor hot tub area- not used by us. The not so good/unforgettable They kept the laundry bins, what I assume were empty because I didn't look, in the hallway 24/7. Are they there for the morning? They don't have a home or closet or literally anywhere to store them? Not necessarily in the way for us but we didn't have luggage. In the morning, there was a front desk agent, and another hotel attendant spending quality work time together.... Like, over an hour. I left and came back, so it could have easily been longer. You know, no manager around to ensure employees are kept busy working. Unless that is the management. There's the classic DO NOT DISTURB sign and it was hung on the door by us. out of the scheduled 4 night stay, we skipped staying over night at the hotel night 3, to come back to the room being entered, and disturbed ( they don't change the linens card was moved as well) What I'll never forget was hearing people talking loudly ( probably not that loud, walls are paper thin) outside the door while I was packing. It wasn't quite 9:30 am yet, and breakfast is still going till 10am. I heard the room key noise and Out of no where, a woman walked into the doorway! No knock Not a single hello or knock. I said hello, and the cleaning person was shocked I was in the room... Seems lazy that there isn't a log of what rooms have checked out, or any kind of system in place of who is literally in the room if you're not going to knock Glad I didn't need to be embarrassed about anything, COULD YOU IMAGINE? The breakfast is fresh, served at proper temperatures. They have the best coffee ever! I'm a coffee nut and find hotel coffee lame but their coffee is excellent, it is hot, strong and smooth...loved it! The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The bedding was very comfortable. I like that there is a Red Lobster across the street and Bob Evans next door. I'm staying two nights for work so the restaurants and the nearby Kroger are a bonus. I could have given this hotel two stars but decided on one for the below reasons. First- Nice pool and Jacuzzi. Cordial front desk staff. As for our room- I dropped my phone next to the bed and had to move the nightstand and when I did I found a half-used coke bottle with ants. I then moved some of the other furniture and the place was filthy! We stayed for business four days and the room was cleaned ONCE! Yes, we requested cleaning three times and suggested that if the room could not be cleaned we would be fine if we just got clean towels and that didn't even happen! The biggest complaint is when we were vacating our room the members in our party thought each of us would grab the Airpods in front of the TV and bag of clothes on the bed. Once we were at work for the day we realized neither of us had grabbed them. We were sure the room had not been cleaned yet as only 20 minutes had passed so we called the front desk. They assured us that the housekeeping staff would save them. Later that day I called and was told the Airpods and clothes were not found. I used "find my" and the location was still at the the hotel but not in that general area. They have now been disconnected from my phone by someone. It took me a week to get a call back from the head of housekeep claiming they found nothing. The general manager of the hotel never returned my two calls. Breakfast was a joke - no caffeinated tea and when I asked for some on the first morning was told I could get some from the cabinet. That's okay, I can serve myself if all they want to put out is herbal! Problem is that this morning Camila basically yelled at me for helping myself. She had attitude and told me I should just check out. When I told her we were leaving today she said good! She should not be in hospitality! She can't even cook eggs in a bag without making them worse than rubber! Went next door to Bob Evans for same exact breakfast but edible! For an extra $30 for the two of us. Clean hotel with polite staff. It is a perfect place for a meeting or a short stay. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby area. I was on business trip in the area, so my colleagues booked this hotel for a short trip. It has large rooms, good-size beds, polite reception staff. Despite the fact that I had a king size bed in my room, with clean sheets, the mattress was really soft. On top of that, the AC appliance was soloud, it was nearly impossible to fall asleep. No winter comforter was found in the room. I ended up sleeping in my overcoat. There was no shower cap in the room, which you need the most when you need it. There was a note asking to call a reception to get it though, which is quite ridiculous in my opinion. The breakfast was really bad. Even though it was warm, even the water for the tea tasted bad. The bread was one of the most cheap brands that one can possibly get. On the positive side, there is a game room with a pool table and other machines. Free wi-fi in the lobby, that helped us to get ready to the business meeting the day after. Although, the wi-fi is on the slower side. Free parking, free wi-fi, spacious suites, and facilities to use the indoor swimming pool and to even play pool. 5 stars because the service was impeccable. My team and I stayed here for a few days to do some work at the University of Michigan (~15 minute drive) and they had a shuttle service that took us to campus whenever we needed. Just spent 2 nights at the Regent while in town for a medical appointment. We have never been in a quieter hotel. It was simply serene. The room was a double queen, and it was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The only negative was a TV remote that wouldn't turn on the TV. It wasn't a problem to hit a button on the TV to turn it on, and the sulky remote did the rest. We let the desk know when we left. The pool and hot tub was a nice quiet area. The hot tub could stand to be turned up a couple degrees, but it was a relaxing time spent there. We didn't try the pool, because the main step entrance to it has a handle that is so low that it was difficult for me physically to make the manuever with artificial knees. It needs handles like the hot tub has. We used the shuttle to go to a medical appointment, and were glad we did. It would've been hard to find on our own. The driver was friendly, funny, and informative on our tour through Ann Arbor. We really appreciated him. Front desk personnel were friendly and efficient. Not a single negative there. Breakfast area is tiny, as others noted, so a different layout might be more convenient for guests. We were fine the first day, as we were alone then. The second morning, a large team group traveling together showed up, so it was really crowded. It still didn't take us long, and there was enough seating. There's hot scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and fried redskins. There's yogurt, donuts (good ones!), toast, toaster waffles, bagels, oranges, boiled eggs, cold cereal and instant oatmeal, juices, coffees, tea. It hit all the buttons. This is a good choice when you visit the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area. We'll return. read more

I was recently traveling with a crew across five cities using hotels and conference rooms in each. My first time staying in Ann Arbor, I didn't know quite what to expect. The Ann Arbor Regent is located in a quieter side of town, much more suburban than the downtown area located near the university. But, therein lies it's charm. It's kind of an old school hotel that is impeccably clean. It's not ostentatious at all, but does have a nice pool in the center of the complex, and some game room tables on the second floor, which made for a nice touch for road warrior travelers looking for a fun distraction without having to leave the hotel. The staff is attentive and friendly, never passing up a chance for greeting and always ready to help. There was never a moment that I didn't feel as if our needs were important. And, most important for our needs was the conference room. It's located in a separate building across the parking lot, which, for us, made it easily the best of all the rooms we used over the course of our trip. The rooms were large, restrooms conveniently placed, parking ample, and the place was quiet enough for us. It was pretty near perfect. This is the kind of place that simply fills the need as advertised. Everything about our stay was easy. The beds are comfortable, the showers hot. They serve coffee well into the day. Not many bells and whistles, but everything you need. It's just a simple place that gets it all right. My thanks to the staff, who were all representative of midwestern charm and hospitality. I stayed here recently on a business trip and really waffled on booking based on various reviews but all in all, I'm glad I took a chance because this hotel was great! The pros: *Courteous and helpful staff *Very delicious and varied breakfast options each morning *The MOST comfortable hotel bed I've ever experienced *Nice sized room *Great "mini kitchen" in-room with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker *Terrific pool area with hot tub The cons: *We realized on our second day that our door wasn't locking and were told there was no handyman on duty to repair it so we had to spend one night using the ironing board as a safety measure. It WAS repaired the next day though and we were given a discount on our stay. *Very poor in-room wifi signal - sometimes I had better internet signal when I turned OFF the wifi signal on my phone. Loving my two day stay here, the rooms are clean and large, with a fridge and a microwave, as well as a coffee maker. Plenty of cozy pillows on the cozy king sized bed. The staff is professional and courteous, throughout our stay (we're leaving tomorrow morning). I enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. I have to admit, meditating in the jacuzzi while watching it snow outside in the courtyard was so calming and serene. In the meantime, while I enjoyed my soak in the jacuzzi, my husband had to go to work, dreading the 4 inch snowfall he was going to have to clean off his car. What a wonderful surprise to find the staff cleaned the snow off of everyone's car! Now that's not only appreciated, but how very thoughtful! The only thing that I didn't care for was the scrambled eggs and potatoes, ice cold and no flavor. Seems all the hotels are buying this nasty stuff from a distributor. My suggestion, save your money, you have a great hotel, buy local from local farmers, better quality food and probably cheaper too. If you are going to stay in this area, and want a clean place to stay with a heated pool and a jacuzzi. Oh, and a game room for the kids on the second floor too! If there is anything I would change, in this electronic world, more outlets, preferably not behind furniture, and filled up with plugs from your lamps to TV. Came for a wedding where the bride booked a block, so it was a great location being near UM's campus and very comfortable to stay in. It was clean and quiet, so no complaints from me. FYI that they use Bath & Body works and the pool area is cute. Two things that were disappointing were that they sent my confirmation email to the wrong email address (no read-back) and the wedding guests weren't placed near each other. The greeting staff seemed rather young (which makes sense for a college town) so they were friendly but maybe less seasoned than the norm. read more

My husband and I have been staying here twice a month since I receive treatments at UM hospital, and the prices are reasonable, the staff are typically friendly, and the hotel is clean and quiet. It's especially important that I get a good night of rest before treatments, and our last stay there really destroyed that. The fire alarm started blaring at 3 am, several times, for no apparent reason. We were shocked awake from our sleep, and I couldn't get back to sleep, which means I had to spend 8 hours in the hospital with little to no sleep. I understand that mistakes happen, and the next morning, we asked the hotel staff about the fire alarm. One woman abruptly said, "yeah, the fire alarm went off at 3:30 am." That was it. There was no explanation or apology. It was incredibly rude and unprofessional, and we felt really terrible leaving the hotel. read more

I stayed at this hotel for the first time two nights this week. I got a ridiculously good deal on the price of the room so it was off to a good start. The staff was helpful and friendly. There is a nice, clean pool and hot tub area that I enjoyed. There are also two computers with printing available if needed. There is a neat billiards lounge on the second level and big seating area to keep you entertained. There is also a fitness room with two treadmills, two ellipticals, a weighted machine, and a big mirrored area for floor exercises. The rooms and bathroom are spacious and clean. The breakfast is a good size with lots of options from bagels, rolls, and muffins to fruit to yogurt to oatmeal to waffles to eggs and sausage. I will certainly be looking to stay here when I return to Michigan again soon and I highly recommend this hotel to others. read more

Everything looked nice, staff was polite, great location right by downtown Ann Arbor, and near the highway for other parts of Michigan. The bed was a basic spring mattress, enough to sleep through the night without anything poking through, but a disappointment. Even after the online discount, I would not pay $100 to sleep on that bed, I might as well get a motel or get a hotel farther away. Driving from Chicago back to Toronto, Canada and needed a place to rest after running the marathon. Ann Arbour Regent was the answer! Huge rooms, lovely breakfast, mini kitchen & a pool! All of these & lack of sirens sounds all evening made for the most peaceful sleep compared to our nights in Chicago which were 3x the price. We were told about Jimmie John which is a local gourmet sandwich shop about 1.2 miles away. My guys loved it and said it was better than the meals we had in Chicago where reservations were required weeks ago. The want to go back tomorrow. Excited to explore the Ann Arbor! read more

We loved our stay at the Ann Arbor Regent. While it may not be the fanciest place, it is a fantastic value given the quality. The staff is all very outgoing, helpful, and available. One thing that makes or breaks a hotel stay for me is the availability of the staff. If no one is at the front desk to answer my questions, that really bothers me; we never had an issue with that here. They were there and ready to help anytime, and seemed genuinely friendly. We didn't get into the pool at all during the weekend we were there, since we had so many things to do, but I'm sure on future trips we will! I enjoyed the fitness room, and love that it is open 24 hours (though the water machine was out of water- but I was able to run downstairs and fill my bottle at the breakfast area). The breakfast! There was fresh fruit, which was all I really needed, but it didn't end there. They had sausage, potatoes, and eggs, along with an assortment of pastries. I saw them refilling the hot foods many times, so there was plenty for everyone. Our room was lovely- just what we needed. And I definitely suggest getting the whirlpool tub room. The hotel was pretty and comfortable, inside and out. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful; the housekeeping staff were warm and considerate. The hotel is attentive and will bring extra items to your room, take a note for housekeeping, grant late checkout, etc. They even matched a price that we found online when we walked in to check in, and they showed us the room before we decided to stay there (due to some unusual circumstances). There's a pretty fountain out front, and a gazebo and other tables surrounded by flowers in the backyard/courtyard. The pool was a bit small, but nice, as was the hot tub. The only odd thing is that some of the rooms face the pool instead of facing outside. This meant you had to pull the blinds if you wanted privacy, and that you could sometimes hear children playing in the water. You also had little/no natural light in the room and there was a faint chlorine smell at times. All in all though, this was okay and did not bother us! It was also easy to check whether the pool was crowded before we went swimming. :) There's also a very nice fitness center and a game room, but like the pool, the game room directly across from our window, so we needed to keep the curtains closed for privacy at times. The breakfast was very good, but not extraordinary. They had a nice selection of donuts, eggs, etc. The area for all the breakfast items is a small half square-ish shape though and that made it always crowded and awkward when I was there. Not a huge deal though! Additionally, the hotel is in a convenient location. It's on a main road, but not loud or crazy, and it is in extremely close (nearly right across the street) walking distance of a Middle Eastern restaurant. It's also close to other dining, grocery, etc. Overall, lovely stay at this hotel and I'd stay there again if I returned to Ann Arbor. read more

There's a list of basic expectations we have when booking a hotel; clean guest rooms, ample amenities, comfortable atmosphere, pleasant surroundings and a hot/delicious breakfast. Meeting expectations is much different from being extraordinary. I feel good reviews are meant for those who set themselves apart and go above and beyond. Ann Arbor Regent Hotel & Suites nailed all of the basics. We would have been completely satisfied if it stopped there. However, we were in for an 'extraordinary' experience, thanks to an extraordinary staff. The booking agent worked extra hard to meet our specific requests, which she did happily and perfectly. The folks at the front desk greeted us with smiles, checked us in and quickly reminded us of all the amenities and services. The breakfast workers were attentive, helpful and cheerful. And a very heartfelt thank you to the housekeeping staff. Members of the housekeeping staff greeted us whenever in we saw them in passing. Every time, they gave us a warm smile, wished us a pleasant stay and reminded us to let them know if there was anything we needed. This was a great little getaway for a one day hockey trip. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and the room was perfect for two. The hot tub and pool were small, but not crowded so that wasn't an issue at all. I loved that they had pool tables and foosball (free!). The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast, but still great. Staff gets a huge thumbs up. Very helpful, friendly and just overall happy. I live far away, but will return if I am in the Aera again. read more

This was the absolute worst hotel experience EVER!!! Pull out bed was atrocious!!! Mattress springs literally poking you everywhere. The mattress was unsleepable. Hotel staff did NOTHING about it. We had to sleep 4 people in one bed. We were told....too bad....nothing we will do about it. If you want a good night sleep, go somewhere else. read more

My son and I stayed here for 4 nights. ALL of the employees, every last one of them, were polite and welcoming. The hotel is comfortable, quiet and clean. It also felt very safe for us traveling alone. It is located in a great place. Among other things the Enterprise was right around the corner. We needed a late checkout to accommodate our shuttle ride and flight. That was no problem Also a special thanks to Shannon for accepting the 5 giggly girls and their Welcome Party at 2 am. He was very gracious and kind. One more thing... If you need a ride Zirker transportation is top notch service. Always on time, professional and just all around nice fellows!
