She's one of the few osteopaths that still does osteopathic manipulation therapy (OMT). She has been so supportive of me as I recover from an injury. Dr. Myers also did not push SDSM's PT service. 5 stars for Dr. Myers. I'd call the staff average. Being nice to them does help. Their billing department and referral departments could use some work, though. I got overcharged, and it took them 5 months to resolve what should have been very simple. Meanwhile, the referral department can be very slooooow, and inflexible. I had requested a different provider, and my PCP agreed to the change. The referral department would not accept the substitution, claiming the doctor did not send them an official referral request. Of course, I don't find this out until after several months after I started with my provider that we didn't have a "legitimate" referral. I still recommend them, but with those caveats.

Luckily, I was able to switch over to Dr. Koretoff's panel. Dr. Koretoff is one of the best providers I've ever had. He truly cares about his patients and listens to them. He's responsive to my questions and is willing to put in the time and effort to get the referrals or medications in that I need. I've had some serious health issues and know my body. I appreciate that Dr. Koretoff respects my concerns and refers me to a specialist when my medical history and/or symptoms warrant doing so. It's clear that he wants his patients to be healthy and have the best quality of life possible (even if it means having to engage in a prior authorization fight with an insurance company to do so. Additionally, the staff here - from x-ray tech to clinic staff - are friendly and treat me with respect. Thank you for keeping me healthy!

They always answered the phone right away and he was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He then referred me to the physical therapy office next door and that's where the issues began. Since the first time I called, nobody ever picks up, I called 20+ times in a span of 2 weeks and each time the automated phone system made me listen to a 5 minute message about the history of San Diego Sports Medicine and the different location's phone numbers and then would proceed to hang up on me. The few times it did let me leave a message, nobody ever got back to me. It seems like nobody works at the front desk for some reason. When they finally got back to me, they made an appointment for me with the specific PT that Dr.Koretoff had requested. I was 3 weeks out from the earliest appointment which was not ideal but I had no choice but to wait. When I finally received the appointment reminder the week before the appointment, it said that the appointment will be with someone else, and not the person I had made the appointment with. The person at the front desk even confirmed that it will be with the PT I requested but that's not what they inputted in the system. As a result, I now have to wait another week to start PT. They offered no way to reconcile the situation even though it was their fault, and basically the conclusion was "tough luck, you have to pay for our mistake." In a separate conversation with the front desk again, they were explaining to me the difference between paying out of pocket vs going through insurance. They gave me the out of pocket rate but said that they can't confirm what the cost will be with insurance until I come in so I explained my deductible and the terms on my coverage to get her advice, the answer I got verbatim was "I've explained to you over and over again and it doesn't seem like you're understand so I think I'm wasting my time here." WTF? She only explained to me once, and basically indirectly called me dumb and told me I'm wasting her time? That's no way to talk to any patient especially if I'm being respectful. This is absolutely unacceptable. I don't care if you're having a bad day, you shouldn't be talking to people like that period, let alone if your job is customer service. This is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any front desk/customer service. It's like they hate their jobs. Do you guys no vet people before hiring them?

This review is at least a few years late, as it talks about what happened a few or more years ago,…read morebut is still relevant today. I went in for something I needed to get checked and inquired one of the doctors who was working there (not Dr. Anderson) about Viagra. Without even asking me why I needed it or about my symptoms, he rudely refused and said I was clearly too young for that. I was in my 20s or possibly 30s back then, which is not too young for Viagra. Since then, I haven't been back to this sorry excuse for a medical establishment. Fortunately for me, shortly after my horrendous experience with their doctor refusing to treat my medical problem because of an inaccurate reason he made up in his own head, I found Hims, the app and website, as well as GoodRX Pharmacy, the latter of which doesn't do prescriptions any more. I ended up getting prescriptions for Viagra from both of those much better establishments for exactly what I needed (and then had friends of mine get prescriptions from them too, so I could buy their Viagra pills from them!). In practice, I ended up getting 5 or 6 prescriptions-worth of Viagra each month and have been doing that ever since! I am, not only a Viagra-popping monster-of-sorts, but am also an adept drug consumer and connoisseur. I use dozens of drugs pretty much on a daily basis and love drugs more than any other non-human object (more so than even food and water). The reason I'm even writing this review now is because I considered going to this place again in case something bad happens to me when I add additional drugs to my current large mixture of drugs that permeate my entire body with zero downtime. I'm planning on adding supraphysiologic doses of a variety of testosterone esters and at least one synthetic testosterone derivative for massive muscle hypertrophy, as well as hCG and a SERM to prevent my testicles from atrophying and nipples from becoming sensitive due to the extremely high, un-natural doses of testosterone and its derivatives that I will probably be starting some time in the coming months (no prescription required as it's from "the streets"). Imagine if I start having a heart attack because of all the drugs I'm using (multiple stimulants, multiple steroids, nicotine, ethyl alcohol, and many other drugs every single day), and I go to the only place other than the emergency room that's open for business that I know of, where there are supposed to be doctors who prescribe drugs to people... And they're like, "Nope. You can't be having a heart attack. You're too young." (And then, because of them, I WOULDN'T die because I'm NEVER going back to this place for that exact reason). Cheers!

That level of care helped me understand my condition and provided a path forward. At this clinic, the evaluation consisted primarily of X-rays and having me walk a few steps back and forth. Based on that minimal assessment, I was told they didn't think anything was wrong. Despite clearly explaining that I suffer from significant knee pain and that my symptoms are affecting my daily life, there was no meaningful attempt to identify the cause, discuss treatment options, evaluate my strength or mobility in depth, or provide any plan for managing the pain. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I specifically told them about my previous knee brace and the circumstances that led to it being prescribed. Rather than exploring whether a similar evaluation or referral might be appropriate for my current right knee issues, I was left sitting for roughly 20 minutes before an administrative staff member came in simply to show me knee brace options they happened to have in stock. To add insult to injury, I paid nearly $150 out of pocket after insurance for what amounted to little more than X-rays, a brief walk across the room, and being shown products for sale. I received no meaningful assessment, no treatment plan, no referral, and no support for the severe knee pain that brought me there in the first place. I came looking for professional medical guidance and a thorough physical therapy assessment. Instead, I felt like my concerns were brushed aside and the focus shifted to selling products rather than understanding why I am experiencing significant pain. Patients deserve to be listened to, evaluated carefully, and given clear recommendations. Unfortunately, my experience was a costly waste of time and money.

I sought treatment for a severe case of left-sided tennis elbow that had been significantly aggravated by my cello playing. As a physician, I have referred countless patients to physical and occupational therapy over the course of my career, and I have also been a patient myself on several occasions. Because of that experience, I feel I have a good sense of what excellent rehabilitation care looks like. The care I received from Sierra and her team was truly outstanding. They were knowledgeable, professional, attentive, and highly skilled. Just as importantly, they took the time to understand my goals, provided clear guidance, and developed a treatment plan that was both effective and practical. Throughout the process, I felt supported, encouraged, and confident that I was receiving exceptional care. Thanks to their expertise, my symptoms improved substantially, and I was able to return to playing the cello with much greater comfort and confidence. I recommend Sierra Strain and the entire Spine & Sport Physical Therapy team without reservation to anyone seeking physical or occupational therapy. I finally found the best orthopedic doctor in San Diego - It's Doctor Murphy!…read more Staff is great, office is fairly easy to access, and Doctor Murphy is the best of the best. Experienced, thorough, and great bedside manner. Additionally you may notice he is a "MD" not a "DO" like so many of the younger docs in San Diego. I've found that having an "MD" instead of a "DO" makes a big difference. Doctor Murphy is also the right age. He's old enough where he has obviously done thousands of procedures but young enough where you don't have to worry if he is past his prime. Again...I've found so many of the doctors in the San Diego are are just too young and inexperienced. I went in for a second opinion on an Achilles injury. Doctor Murphy was the only doctor to use an ultrasound (the last one did not) and the ultrasound showed not one but TWO small tears in my Achilles tendon. Luckily they were small enough that surgery was not necessary but rehab would be tricky to ensure it did not turn into a full tear (Kevin Durant injury). While the first doctor had also told me I had a partially torn Achilles that would heal on it's own, knowing the exact spots of the tears and the severity of the tears put me at ease and allowed us to better form a recovery plan. We now knew that I HAD to be careful. No guessing. Doctor Murphy made me feel just as important as any of the world class athletes he has as clients and that is important too. In the future if I ever have a more severe injury and require surgery I will only trust Doctor Murphy to do it. 5 stars! Thanks Doctor Murphy and staff!
