She was such a pleasure to work with on the day of. I picked Santa Barbara courthouse which I had never seen in person but Anna assured me it was as beautiful as the photos...my wedding date landed on a day when the fires in southern Cali were just starting so I was a bit worried because it was a hazey but anna still delivered still got beautiful pictures! Anna did an incredible job with our photos. We got a ton of really classic shots, but we wanted our photos to also capture our silly selves, so she was all in on some specific ideas we had that were a little less traditional. We shot our first look and family portraits at the SB Courthouse, and she was great about knowing locations that made sense with the light we had, and she fought for shots in public spaces as needed. She was incredibly calm and professional, and we felt we were able to trust her decisions and guidance as out-of-towners. Anna was absolutely phenomenal! My husband and I decided to elope and had very little time to organize everything. But we knew we wanted to document our special day, so I knew I had to find the best photographer for the job. The moment I saw Anna's wedding photos online, I knew she was 'the one' for us. It was love at first sight. :) Anna was available and always an email or phone call away. She was early on the day, and ready to get started. She knew the absolute best times for the natural lighting for our the photos. We got married outdoors at Ellwood Trails, overlooking Ellwood Beach, and Anna was able to capture the most stunning sunset. Anna is super organized, and such a professional. She has the best eye for photography and gives her 'models' the best directions. She also loves dogs, and was super helpful with our two little best men, who were a bit overwhelmed at times with everything that was going on. The photos turned out simply breathtaking. Anna did such an amazing job on our wedding photos. We loved her style with sunset photos but she can really capture any amazing moment. She really delivered and we have received so many compliments from friends and family. I loved that she sent so many sneak peeks only 3 days after the wedding! Anna shot my wedding (two brides) at the Santa Barbara courthouse yesterday and she is truly an amazing photographer...and I haven't even seen the pictures yet. She made sure that we got all the different poses that we wanted, and many more. She made us both feel very relaxed and I am certain the pictures will be fabulous. From setting to setting she cleared people out of the way so our shots were of just the two of us. The courthouse is a public place so this takes some assertiveness. She was not too shy to ask people to move out of the way. This ensured we didn't waste time waiting for an open shot, and that we hit every area of the courthouse that we wanted pictures in. Love. I cannot recommend Anna enough for wedding photography. After we weren't that happy with our engagement photos from a different photographer, our wedding planner suggested we check out Anna J, and as soon as I saw her use of light in the photos on her website, I knew she was who I wanted. Our planner set up a meeting with Anna so I could meet her, tell her what I wanted, and discuss our wedding. First off, she is the sweetest, most genuine person, with a calmness and confidence I really appreciated. I asked her if she'd ever photographed a wedding at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, where we were planning our wedding, and she quickly pulled up a gallery of a recent wedding she'd shot there. I was BLOWN AWAY. It looked like a magazine shoot! I booked her immediately and was pleasantly surprised by her reasonable prices. Leading up to the wedding, I sent her a family shot list and a few photo poses that I hoped she could capture on the day of. The day of the wedding, she and her assistant arrived early to our hotel, and wasted no time in creatively photographing all the little details (rings, dress, invitations, etc). I sprung it on her at the last second that we had hired a videographer, who had only shot one wedding prior to ours. She was SO professional and kind with them, even when they would accidentally get in a shot or two. She captured all the photos I asked her to, and did so calmly, quickly, and with a pleasant authority that made us feel confident she knew what she was doing. Following the wedding, we received a sneak peek within three days! And the rest of the pictures, hundreds of them, came about three weeks later! While I was looking through them, I was surprised to see so many photos that she snapped when I didn't even realize she was there, including candid moments from the ceremony that I will cherish forever. Our wedding was at my parent's house and we were nervous that there wouldn't be enough space or enough different backgrounds to take our wedding portraits and wedding party photos at the property, but Anna had the eye to find multiple different spaces on the property that were gorgeous for all our photos. Thank you Anna for our wedding photos!! You guys, it was a thousand degrees on our wedding day and Anna HUSTLED. I felt so bad seeing all the sweat pour from her face (thank you.) An hour before our ceremony a terrible microburst storm hit Santa Barbara (think upside down tornado with 80mph winds) totally derailing our schedule at the courthouse for photos. The grounds were flooded and covered w ants, luckily Anna knew the grounds well and took some great photos of our wedding party and for our bride/groom portraits. Wished we could have had more time and shots of more spots at the courthouse, but it was totally out of Anna's control since everything was pretty much flooded. Did I mention this whole time her spirits never dropped?! That's a lot of pressure on a photographer I'm sure especially when the Bride and Groom are told they need to move their beautiful rooftop wedding in doors into an overheated BASEMENT at the Canary which they overpaid for! Anna delivered high-quality work, sentimental, and personal photos of our special day, family, wedding party, our guests, and my groom and I! They were very friendly, professional, thorough, and respectful of our asks. The first time I saw Anna's photos was on www.santabarbaraelopement.com when I was looking for a quality elopement package online. I am super picky about my wedding pictures. I didn't want cheesy wedding pictures with bad lighting, unflattering angles and backgrounds. I didn't expect every picture on there to take my breath away. I was literally speechless by how beautiful they were. They looked like high quality pictures from bridal magazines. I knew immediately I had to have her as our photographer. I felt extremely lucky and privileged when I found out we were able to book Anna. I seriously don't know how she did it, but she magically made my husband and I look beautiful, elegant, and timeless in our nearly 300 photos. She was super patient the entire 2+ hours of our photo shoot even when she had to tell us how to pose most of the time. We never had a photo shoot before and felt really awkward but she made us feel really comfortable and still made us look natural in photos. Some of the natural poses/sunlight and rustic background looked like they were scenes from movies like Lord of the Rings. Anna was super thoughtful. accommodating, and professional on our wedding day. For the ceremony, she let me stand on the side that showed my flower in my hair that was originally the groom's side. I was able to share poses I loved on a Pinterest board with her and she kept checking those poses on her phone throughout the photoshoot to make sure she captured all the poses I wanted. She also stayed past the 2 hours we booked her for without any complaints. I was completely flooded with compliments from family and friends once they saw our pictures. They even made some of my friends want to retake their own wedding photos with their husbands! I literally cannot choose my favorite ones to develop because I love so many of them. Leading up to the wedding our coordinator was asking us about chanting and vortexes and I just knew the venue was not right. My fiancé suggested Santa Barbara, and with only two months to go we cancelled Sedona and found our savior, Shauna Timmons via her webpage (mentioned above). Featured on her pages are various beautiful, upscale images including some labeled "Santa Ynez Tuscan Villa" (Sunstone Winery) that caught our eye and sold us on using Shauna. I wanted to make sure our photos would be of the same quality featured on the site. When Shauna offered Anna, the same photographer who had captured those same wonderful moments from the winery, we jumped at the chance to work with her. Anna and I easily coordinated our ideas via email and she was extremely responsive. Our wedding day was everything we hoped it to be and Anna captured our perfect day beautifully. She has a wonderful demeanor and she also focused in on the little details that could have so easily been erased or forgotten from the day!
