I have been coming to this center for two years now. I have anemia and need to have frequent iron…read moreinfusion therapy. The room where they administer the infusion is also the same room where cancer patients come to get their treatments. It's made me very anxious the first time because of this. You feel so bad so many people suffering by your side. Meanwhile you are just there for a boost of iron. I have been treated by Dr. Haggerty. He is a true angel and really helped me with my diagnosis. The man knows his stuff. I highly recommend him and his peers. The facility and staff is very understanding. Considering the treatment facilities they are providing. It's always super clean. They have water, coffee and snacks readily available. As you wait or that you can have while receiving treatments. They also give you pillows, and warm blankets to rest while receiving the treatments on the chairs. The chairs are very comfortable and versatile. I highly recommend this place for cancer patients looking for a facility to get their treatments done. I've even seen drs who have gotten diagnosed come here and sit next to the commoners to get their chemo/radiotion done. A+ staff, facility and drs!

I had just moved from out of state and he had been recommended, so I made the appointment for three months away. The morning of the appointment - three months later- I had not gotten a reminder call from the office so I called to confirm my 1:00 pm appointment. I was told the appointment had been canceled because they had not received my paperwork and had called to remind me about the appointment and the paperwork on three different occasions. I asked what number they had been calling. It was an incorrect number - off by one digit. Since I'm not in the habit of giving an incorrect version if my own number, it was clear there had been a typo when they input my number. I told the receptionist my correct number and asked that they honor the appointment that day. She said she would go and talk to the doctor. When she returned to the phone, she told me that not only would they not see me as scheduled but that the doctor had said they would not schedule me at all - ever - because they hadn't received my paperwork. While initially I was upset and disappointed, I'm actually quite glad it turned out this way because I wouldn't want to see a doctor who has so little compassion or consideration.

After a long and disappointing association with an oncology practice, my mother was not getting…read moreneeded pain medication or support for her illness. The patient him or herself can't make decisions about changing routines much less physicians. It pained me to see the daily frustration, her pain medication wasn't working. I consulted my own hospitalization's pages to find a doctor whose speciality is Geriatrics. Dr. Peter Schlissler is a prince among men. He had my parents and me in his office...cancer is a group activity, or it should be. The oncologist had no such office or family meeting. Dr. Schlisser spoke at length about my mother's condition and what we could expect. I told my mother to bring prescriptions in a bag, even empty bottles. Dr. Schlissler commented that these prescriptions were all but no longer used, it was no wonder that the medications were not working. There are better things and better dosages. I had tears to think that this doctor not only provided the revelation about the illness itself, but that there was better, pro-active treatment. Dr, Schissler wanted to examine the patient himself. You could see what kind of a person he is when he took the wheel with her wheelchair. He pushed it himself, slowly, chatting with my mother, mindful of her condition, respectful of it. More tears for me. That appointment lasted nearly five hours. He found that she had severe osteoporosis which no other doctor had tested for. He set about protocols to ease her pain, which eased our worry, he gave us a sense of control at long last. It was such a sense of relief to find Dr. Schissler and his medical practice. He restored our family by providing the respect my battle weary parents needed to carry on. Dr. Schissler is gentle and wise. He was there for my mother every step of the way. As surely as he told us at that first appointment that we were no where near ready for Hospice, he later wisely knew when it was the time. Imagine the dignity and grace. Anyone would do a family member or friend a service by having a consultation with Dr. Schissler and Associates. Dr. Kula, my hematologist, is not only incredibly calming, but her problem solving resulted in me getting an actual diagnosis after many specialists and diagnostic tests showed no specific cause, despite how thorough the other specialists as. When I first went to Dr. Kula, I was frustrated and worried and she turned my worries around, telling me we would get a solution. She seemed attuned to me, kmoldgable about my case, and was incredibly efficient without me feeling as if I'd been rushed. After ten months of testing, I was so relieved to have an answer, and four years later, Dr. Kula still inspires my complete confidence. As we all know, the doctor is only a part of the process, but in this case, the entire staff, from front desk, to nurses, to techs, have all been fantastic. No huge delays in appointments. In fact, I think every single appointment has run a few minutes early. Questions and concerns are answered in detail, blood draws are painless (no, seriously!) and it is great that they have an in-house lab, so in the short few minutes between blood draw and appointment, the doctor has updated and to the moment red and white counts, etc. I've spent most of my time in the infusion center, since my iron replenishment is usually an all-day affair, and this has allowed me to meet some great folks, as well as being able to observe the flow of the infusion area. The infusion area is one big room, with a nurses' station at one end, several offices, including scheduling, I believe, scattered throughout. On one end of the room is a smalll kitchen area with soft drinks, animal crackers, and the like, for patients and caregivers alike. There are two bathrooms, very clean and well appointed. Patients and a caregiver for each, if the patient has brought one) sit across an aisle, and the chairs are close enough to foster communication, if desired, but far enough apart to offer a bit of privacy. There are several televisions suspended above each row, but I haven't seen them turned on at any time. There is a good selection of magazines, and also a bookshelf where you can take or bring a book to donate. There are mostly adult genre paperbacks (mysteries and romance). Most patients seem to be on their tablets during their infusions, utilizing the wi-fi, which is at perfectly reasonable speed for web surfing. As I haven't tried streaming on the wi-if, I can't comment on how that speed might be. The infusion center is sunny and pleasant, and the nurses are thoroughly and wholly patient focused. Nurses are assigned to a "row" of patients seated in chairs across an aisle from each other and the nursing staff freely offer an extra hand if several patients need assistance at the same time. The nurses in this section are so soothing, explaining every step of the process and how long each segment is expected to take. While side effects are mentioned, they aren't emphasized, and through the process, the nurses were always only a few short steps away. If you'll be there for some time, the center is very centrally located, with a large Wegmans grocery store a short distance away, among many other shops.

But this is not the case with Dr. Kula. She was very detailed and asked all kinds of questions about every line I answered on that form. I think we spent at least 30 minutes just talking. My first impression of her was great. She made me feel very comfortable and she answered all the questions I had. So far I haven't had any bad experience at this facility. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Kula if you're looking for a hematologist in this area.

He went out of his way to explain processes and procedures in a way that I could understand them, even drew diagrams for me, and didn't once act like any of my questions were stupid. Scheduling with him takes the weight off your shoulders because he thinks two steps ahead. I'm getting a procedure done in a few weeks and he has everything up to my two week post checkup already on the books. This is definitely super helpful and keeps some of my stress level down. If you need to be here, Dr. Ferriss and his team have great bedside manner and that makes even the worst things a whole lot better.

You will get the same Doctors, smaller office, better parking, FREE parking, less hassle, more intimate setting, and easier communication. Now...the initial appointment may take a "minute" to get, but once you become a Hopkins patient you are in! They link to your Hopkins Primary care and other Specialist. All are linked with a database called MY CHART which allows test results, questions, medical records, etc to be centralized. The chemo room (if you need it) hopefully you won't, but is small and quiet. They have private curtains and some private rooms. The nurses are all really nice. The number one positive is the Doctors. The level of intelligence will blow you away. These Doctors are trained and they are constantly researching new methods. If you need a miracle....I personally think they can help. The only minus star..as it seems in all medical offices..is that the Receptionist are not super friendly. For some reason, I am finding this the norm. Overall...I would take this location over downtown any day!

This review is only concerning the fact that I got an echocardiogram done in the MOH Silver Spring…read moreOffice at the end of April 2024. The report was never uploaded to my chart. I inquired about this to my doctor at MOH (who had ordered the echocardiogram). I contacted the front desk at MOH who said I should contact medical records. I called medical records multiple times. No one returned my call. It is now the end of June 2024 and no sign of the echocardiogram results. I have never had a practice lose a report before, and they don't seem to care. Terrible.

They are horrible and this is not what people need when going thru cancer treatment. I will let the referring doctor know so they stop sending people to this practice.
