    Breakfast
    Simon L.

A really nice corner restaurant that is great for breakfast and lunch. I was there for brunch right before noon and it was delicious and good value. I ordered the ' EEN GOED BEGIN...' breakfast and it comes with juice, coffee, bread , nice eggs with spinach, bacon and baked tomatoes for 10.50 euros. We have a pretty big group and the waitress seems to have a hard time keeping track of our orders. Both me and another guy have waited for the juice and coffee for a while and had to reminded her for the orders. A lot of people come here also for their nice coffee. If you like their coffee and come here often, don't forget to get the card to collect stamp for free coffee.

Friendly atmosphere, nice neighborhood place for lunch or coffee. There is outdoor dining available with blankets for you lap if it's cool out . I had tomato soup which was served hot and delicious, with some warm foccacia bread. Very tasty. Would recommend

The brunch for 2, 22 euros is pricy

We ordered the brunch 22 euro for 2 persons, but it was lack of variety and thus doesn't meet my expectations for that price. 5-6 pieces of bread, two tiny soups for each person, 5 pieces of cucumber, 4 slides of ham, 3 sauces, about 10 pieces of non-fresh rucola with 3 dried tomatoes, 4 slides of cheese, and two juices, these all we have for 22 euro. I will only pay for 15 euro at most regarding the quality and variety. The staff forgot the juice until when we paid and we asked for it. The rucola is a bit "tired" (not fresh) when it was served. Only the bread is nice. It could be a nice place to enjoy the sun before 11:30 but afterwards the sun is behind the building. I know the restaurants at the area is usually expensive and i am used to it because we live in the neighborhood, but obviously it is still not worth.

Iced lattes to "take away." Great drinks!!

Cutest little cafe that offers to-go drinks! Nice seating, nice staff (speak English and are patient with broken Dutch), and great lattes. Visited this place everyday while visiting Amsterdam. Highly recommend!

I had a caffe latte (enough octane to last all day for me), the pistachio croissant, and the fruit & granen (granola).

The cafe recently opened near the Hoofddorplein and is already getting very popular with the locals. I totally get why, since Bert makes a delicious coffee and is also a very cool guy who is in for a little chat. The good reputation of their Antwerp location also does not hurt at all. Antwerp location? Well yes, Caffènation is a much loved coffeeshop in Antwerp. We are very lucky that Bert fell in serious love with a Dutch girl because that is what brought him here! And now he owns the Caffènation location here in Ansterdam. Cool stuff right? Coffee lovers will really enjoy the big drinks menu at this place which offers a lot of different choices like cappuccino and espresso but also more adventurous drinks like a 'Ginger Spice' or a 'Bitter Moon'. Last few times I went with a flat white (like usual, they are my favorite!) and that tasted great. The space is quite big and has a lot of cosy spots to sit. You can even come over with a group of friends since in the downstairs area are a lot of seats. Great right?! Not so crowded like most city center spots and a way nicer and more personal vibe. I can imagine this place would do great for working or studying as well. Just go soon because i'm sure this place be discovered by the big crowds soon!

First of all, the service/the owner was up his game in a very attentive and polite way, at the same time very laid back chill kinda way. Love that about a place as much as I love my good cappuccino. We ordered one cappuccino and one latte, 2 sweets: pear chocolate cake and fruit passion pastry. The cappuccino is really good, so they have my blessing from now on. Also the sweets were good, I didn't enjoyed that much my pear chocolate cake and I went and took another fruit passion pastry and the guy was sorry I didn't like it, so nice :) And this is one big coffee place, very chill sfeer, not your usual small crowded hipster coffee place. And it's pretty close from Vondel Park :) You will be seeing more of me and my friends there, I always take my friends in the places I love.

While it functions as a cozy, traditional Dutch brown café, virtually everyone comes here for one main reason: the famous Dutch apple pie (*appeltaart*). It completely lives up to the reputation. Served warm with a massive dollop of fresh whipped cream, it's thick, perfectly spiced, and has an almost cake-like crust that sets it apart. Pairing a slice with a fresh mint tea is pretty much mandatory. Because of its status and location, it's almost always buzzing with people--especially on market days--but the staff manages the perpetual queue remarkably fast. Snagging a table on the outdoor terrace for some people-watching along the canal is hard to beat. Whether you're taking visitors around the neighborhood or just out exploring the Jordaan.

I'd say about 95% of the people were ordering the apple pie, so of course we had to get one to see what the hype was about. The apple pie is pretty unique, it's basically a big chunk of cooked apple topped with a sweet, crumbly cookie like crust. The flavor reminded me of those little brown biscuits you get as airplane snacks... basically Biscoff cookies. lol!!! Overall, you really taste the natural apple flavor along with that Biscoff like cookie flavor. The pie itself isn't very sweet, which I actually liked, but adding some whipped cream definitely brings up the sweetness and makes it even better. The setup is pretty straightforward: get in line, order and pay, pick up your food, then find your own seat. It's definitely a popular spot, so be prepared for the crowd and a bit of a wait.

We were here three times during our stay in Amsterdam, and I think I found my brand new favorite coffee shop in the city, and I was really sad that I had to leave it behind when our vacation was over. The most convenient part is that it was within walking distance of our hotel and right across from the train station. To keep a piece of Koffie Academie with me back at home in the States, I chose to buy a bag of their Rwanda-style coffee beans. On our first visit, I just had their cappuccino alone since it was later in the afternoon and I had already had lunch, but during the second and third visit, I tried their croissants. Amsterdam, hands down, has the BEST coffee ever. I think way better than the coffee in other European countries we've visited during our trip so far. I had to put sugar in my cappuccino during every visit to make it sweeter (sugar cubes and sugar packets are available). This was my parents' second time in Amsterdam and they stuck with their mochas, which they had before. Both the croissants I had were flaky on the outside and buttery on the inside. My mom had their coconut square treat which, I believe, had either strawberries or raspberries inside with a solid chocolate topping. While I didn't get the chance to try it, I thought that it looked delicious! I think I want to try this during my next trip to Amsterdam. Koffie Academie, you have not been forgotten in my memory. Can't wait to see you again upon my return to Amsterdam in the near future!
