In six months when that policy renews they're going to be asking for a lot more, in my case almost $200 more per month. No accidents, not tickets, nothing in that time period. Just "well cars cost more now". Seriously, that was their reasoning. And if you have it now and try to cancel? Make sure to remove your direct withdrawal bank information from your account because they absolutely will hit you for that next payment, even when you have a new provider. They overdrew my account. A nice rep contacted my bank to confirm this happened and put through a request to refund me quickly and NO ONE DID ANYTHING. It literally sat on someone's desk until I called again a week later, sat on hold for over 30 minutes three different times. Was on hold with reps for over 20 minutes three different times. Was constantly told someone would call me back, surprise, they didn't. Couldn't get someone in finance because they had left for the day, we'll call you tomorrow. They did not call tomorrow. I had to call them before Finance left the following day. Another 30/20 minute wait. Good news! They approved my refund that morning (didn't call me). Oh wait, it will take 5-10 more days to get my money back? Another 15 minute wait to find out it's more like 2-3 days for the bank to process it. So I wasted three hours of my life to get my money back, have an overdraft fee I can't get reimbursed for, have to wait well over a weekend with almost no money because my paycheck got sucked up by the original overdraft. But they were so glad they could help me? No, never again. This was an awful experience. I can't imagine how I would have been treated had I actually had a vehicle accident while under their care. Don't risk it. I went back to Progressive. They aren't perfect but at least I wasn't treated like I was bothering them.

They are despicable. I was two days late on my monthly payment b/c my father was in the hospital…read morefor a week, then he passed away, so I was a little busy at the time, so they charged me a 15% late fee. 15%!!!! When I called them to explain the situation & ask them to waive the fee they refused, what with them being subhuman beings. So I paid my premium for that month & that day I looked for another auto insurance carrier. When I discovered I could switch companies that day I immediately cancelled my policy with Direct Auto, meaning I should have gotten a full refund for the month I paid that very day. They refused to issue the refund, so I filed a dispute with my bank & was refunded the money. 4 months later I get a bill from them for $31, claiming it was the balance of the premium owed, when I owe them nothing. I'm fighting this & I will not pay it, having an 840 credit score I couldn't care less about the hit I might take for $30 Direct Auto is fraudulently billing me, basically trying to steal money. They're really sick people.
