There are a lot of activities available for families - picnic tables (you need to reserve the covered ones), grills, A MINI WATER PARK, ice cream trucks, and a playground. We easily spent an entire morning and afternoon here. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars was because there were mosquitos everywhere. Be warned. Bring that OFF spray!!

"Elliston Park: home of Calgary's annual fireworks display - GlobalFest"…read more The park is located in the deep SE along 17th Avenue SE next to the East Calgary Landfill Site and contains a 20 hectare storm water retention pond, playgrounds, picnic tables and an off-leash area. If you look closely you might spot a fish or two. Elliston Park takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour to walk around the whole park starting from one side of the pond and back again. I'll update the review when it's GlobalFest weekend!

Fish Creek Provincial Park is a place that the city of Calgary is so lucky to have . It is a…read morenatural reservoir that runs right through the city of Calgary. People can walk bike swim . There is two restaurants there and animals love it in there. I would never spend time personally alone in fish creek because it can be dangerous. Homeless people live in the park under trees, etc. That's why it got a 4 because if you are alone - it is not safe. I would always go with someone and never at dark !

The wedding was held in the Environmental Education Centre which has a nice view of the Park. A lot of places both inside and outside for taking great photos or even having the actual wedding ceremony right outdoor.

I could stare at the incredible architecture for hours here…read more Peaceful ponds, picnic areas with sculptures that make soothing noises (depending on the wind direction), a family of Canada Geese that have made it their home, a waterfall cresting off of the Ethics Centre built right in the heart of the park; I'm so glad it exists. I have yet to go inside the Ethics Centre; I was here with a friend for an afternoon session of ladyposing, but the park is open 10 am - 4 pm 7 days a week! I'm sure I'll be back for that. You can also rent out the space for a classy event! Stop by... but not too many of you, because right now I kind of like the idea of it being Calgary's secret.

It's free to enjoy and the paths are well kept. The building houses some information on the birds that we might come across as well as it offers rest rooms and a water fountain. It's just too bad Deerfoot is surrounding it to take away from the peacefulness and drowns out the sounds of nature.

We visit this park several times a week and really appreciate all the work that has been put into it. Maverick gives it two paws up.
