I love my trainer Wendy... she's a machine! The equipment is great, and machines feel high end. I guess the only down side is the size of the classroom, which limits the number of people who can take the classes. I see that as a good thing, because I prefer smaller classes, but it may get crowded.

What do they have? 24 hr access, towel service, individual shower rooms, awesome trainers that know you by first name, yoga studio with video workouts, tvs, good looking people, and free parking. All downtown. Yes, it's true. Good amount of cardio equipment, and more weights than you can imagine. My gym buddies have also commented that they have more machines than most locations. The shower and bathrooms are also really new and clean, no gross tiles with the weird swampy smells, and rusty metal stuff. and because it's on 1st street, you can grab a bite just about anywhere along this street because you had a great workout and you deserve it! You have access to an email that goes to who knows where and no one really knows whats going on; (2) in connection with item #1, they adopt and enforce absolutely ridiculous policies. I was a member of the Vancouver branch and wanted to transfer to the Calgary branch. I was told this was impossible. Instead, my options were to "upgrade" my membership at double the monthly rate or cancel my Vancouver membership, re-enroll with Calgary and pay the initial joining fee again; (3) there's no water fountain. This one is actually extremely bizarre. How can it even be legal to permit people to work out in an environment where dehydration can only be mitigated by waiting for some guy to finish his business in the washroom so that you can desperately access to sink taps? I know its a "no frills" gym but, Fit 4 Less, is a water fountain really a "frill"? At this point, your members may even settle for a garden hose attached in the alley. Don't sign up with this gym. I realize the price point "appears" worth it, but trust, there are better ones out there with similar or the same prices. (World Gym in Calgary for one).

There were a lot of people there who really looked like they knew what they were doing - lots of free weights , cardio machines, weight machines, cable decks, etc - even a punching bag area and boxing area and showers and sauna - a shop with supplements and shakes too. The prices weren't posted, and when I asked beyond the first person who tried to sell me the 50$/m I was told if they aren't sales, they can't even give me guidance on typical pricing , so I felt like something fishy was going on - no one asked me if I enjoyed my trial or followed up with me after - I went back to my old gym, crowded, but bright, cheaper, and they say hi when they see me.
