Newer ice arenas don't often impress, you know, function over fashion. This is a really, really…read morenice new ice arena. One remarkable plus at the C.R.I.C. is the second sheet of ice, refrigerated ice OUTSIDE next to the main building. This outside ice allows for a unique playing experience. The main arena is huge, with some neat photos of the local hockey heros who went on to play in college or pros. The stands, are all on one side. This is a big arena with a large amount of seating. This would be a rocking place when full and loud for a rivalry game. There is a large heated lobby with concessions and a small yet useful skate shop. Wood beams inside make this place feel special. From this common area there is a glass view of one end of the ice. The building has rooms for meetings and birthday parties and other events. There is ample parking. Outside ice sheet next to arena is a major draw and pretty cool! Well done C.R. hockey people!

Attended my nieces ice skating competition today. First time to the super rink and now I know why…read moreit's called the super rink! It's HUGE! The revenue has over 4+ rinks. A great snack and food area called the hat trick. I got a hotdog which was good. They even have real chick fil sandwiches available to buy! Mind blown. The place was very comfortable and it wasn't too cold. Lots of fun vendors selling stuff too.

Before the pandemic I was playing men's league hockey every Sunday night. We played for over 10…read moreyears before they locked up the building and everything stopped. We had a great run coming up here to skate. This past weekend was my first time back at the rink in over 3 years. For hockey again however this time to watch my nephew who was in town with his team for a Showcase. It was good to get back to the rink and watch some hockey. We can now also say that generations of is have skated on these rinks. A total of 8 rinks. This is quite the complex. I know they have soccer fields and other events however we were always here for hockey and in the State of Hockey, this will always be a popular place.

Went here for my cousins swearing in ceremony (to become a cop). I think we were in a room called…read morethe something garden. I liked that when you walked in the building they had a sign telling you which room the events were in so you didn't have to stop and ask anyone. The space was really nice and the ceremony went great. After they did cake and coffee in the back and right outside of the room it looked like there was a park and maybe a small garden or something. We were able to walk over to the police station which is next door to tour as well.

There were equiiptment such as light weighted weights to use for the exercises. The bathrooms, vending machines and water fountain nearby the event room. Wonderful!

What more are you looking for? Open hockey. Figure skating. Open skate. Adult hockey leagues. Fogerty Arena has it. The history of how this arena got built, and Mr Fogerty are worth a read on the signs inside. The history of this arena earned a star, taking a 3 to a 4. Dig if you will a picture. And imagine a time before the marvelous Super Rink existed in Blaine and you can begin to see how this arena once shined throughout the region. It's still a pretty unique arena... I mean Ice House.

My 14-year-old daughter plays for the Minnesota Rec hockey league and we only went to this location…read moreonce. There are two rinks, North and South. They have a pretty standard locker room--hot and smelly. The bathrooms were clean and had plenty of toilet paper (women's at least) The stands were clean. The games and locker room #'s were listed on the little TV so we knew where to go and someone helped us find the locker rooms (I think a hockey dad.) I wasn't too hot or too cold sitting in the stands. This was our last game of the season and I never noticed this happening at any other rink but the players were falling all over the place, it seemed especially slippery on the edges of the rink. Another hockey mom said that sometimes if the temperature is too cold the ice get super slippery. All I know is that it look like a comedy of errors with the players sliding into the boards and falling on top of each other. The parking lot did seem poorly designed, but they're all a little poorly designed. Lots of steps to walk up and no sliding doors, but I had people in front of me opening the doors for me, and these were 14-year-old boys, so all was well. There was also a restaurant at one end of the rink, but I didn't peek in so I don't know the details. Next time..,

Neighborhood park in Blaine (north of Northtown Mall). There's a nice playground. It also offers…read moreball fields, a basketball & tennis court, skating rink, and picnic tables. There's a walking/bicycle trail as well. They have a "parking lot" for parking since most of the park has 'no parking' in the park-side of the street.
