She was quite accommodating with all of my requests and subsequent changes. She and her staff were on time for the event (yes the owner was present) and made everything great! We had hors d'oeuvres to start and then a plated dinner. Both meals were super fantastic. We also had bar staff provided by Fascinating. They were top notch as well. Marilyn brought a team of staff to work our event. They were ALL pleasant and took care of our needs. Working with Matt Draper and team to develop menu and plans was very easy, very professional, and…read morenoticeably better than the other companies we called. Matt, contrary to others, understood what we had in mind, guided with suggestions and didn't try to push us into extra food or expense. The ability to come in a week or so later and taste a variety of options helped really seal the deal. Even conversations about final guest count and payment was smooth. The day of the wedding, Drapers arrived as expected and quickly got busy. I'm wondering if we got the JV team because one of the guys spent the evening with pink headphones on his ears and little things like serving the sheet cakes (strawberry & chocolate) prior to, or at least with the decorated vanilla wedding cake was not understood. These two minor items are the primary blemishes on an otherwise very good meal, superb post-dinner cleanup, and overall experience do not change my strong endorsement for contracting with Draper's. As a post note, we had 130 RSVP and should have planned for 90% attendance since some had last minute emergencies or needed to leave without eating much. Several friends and family told us this was some of the best food they had ever had at a wedding reception. We had the basil pesto chicken, pasta primavera, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus at the reception. All of the food was amazing, and I know the mashed potatoes especially were a big hit. Donelson's also catered passed appetizers at our traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, including the best macaroni bites I have had in my life. We found Donelson's after meeting with several other caterers that had issues helping us with the passed appetizers and setting up additional dishes from Bombay House. It is probably way easier on the crew to clean up, and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I had the corn nuggets to start, yum! We finished them easily, they were so good. Then the entree of my chicken tenders, beans, and Mac and cheese came out, along with my sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect, I drank a whole one during my meal and they gave me another to go in the souvenir Gus's cup. The food was just great, chicken was juicy and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Beans and Mac and cheese, delicious! I ate all of it even though I was stuffed. I even went so far as to order a piece of pecan pie for dessert, but unfortunately our server came back out to tell us they were out of it! Guess it wasn't meant to be (this time)! Paradox setup a pretty nice snack table for all charity participants while the food & the buffet was being prepped. What they had to offer that day on the buffet was great outside of their chicken. I really fell in love with the Beef Brisket the Chefs with Paradox prepared. The green beans tasted pretty good as it was the only vegetable I cared for they had to offer. Their brisket was killer I went back for 2nd's and 3rd's before going back to the snack bar for their dessert offering of cookies and brownies. Their bar setup was great and their bartenders on staff were professional and courteous. I tipped them very well for their service. If I had a Charity wedding Christmas party or other function.
