Though I'm not well-learned on salon products, the ones he used must've been great because I woke up the next morning with tangle-free, super soft, smell-goody hair... Love. Mine was super-close to a five star experience, but it took a bit longer than anticipated, so I ended up walking out unstyled, a bit damp, and not having closely evaluated the cut and color because I ran out of time. Checking myself out the next day, the cut looks terrific, though I may have requested a little more choppiness to the layers, cuz that's how I roll. And I'm sure michael would've happily modified. The color isn't quite what I had in mind, but he did a great job of touching up the embarrassing grow-out and adding some beachy glamour to my old-lady fuzz. I'm only minimally disappointed; it looks so good!! Plus, I think you must expect some experimentation on your first trip to a new stylist. Next time I'll know to better explain my intent. As other reviewers have said, the space is very nice, classy decor, open and airy. The wash sinks have an awesome tilting feature that makes them way more comfortable! The location is easy to navigate and there seems to be ample parking, so it's also a super easy salon visit. Plus, they're a dual-concept salon and barber shop, offering cosmetologists and barbers (the difference being, as Michael explained, nail licensing and straight razors), so your whole fam can go get themselves done! Note: They don't do nails tho. I definitely recommend Michael, and I'll definitely be going back to him myself! Check the app to make sure I have date and time right, I do. Somehow the new stylist booked under the Golden Child's name- ( we normally go there for facials when he visits) , I call back and the owner Michelle answers, she immediately said that the stylist must of had an emergency to cancel, then texts me to tell me I canceled it, which I didn't. She originally said " I'll give you something for the inconvenience" and then said " I'll have to call you back once I talk to the stylist, I said "Okay, I guess I'll head back to work " and she sarcastically says" have a good day " never calls me back and I get a generic response from her. All the negative Yelp reviews are in reference to her- Michelle- the owner- lack of professionalism, organization , scheduling and communication issues . I can see why the turnover at her place of business is so high. Unfortunate for those that work for her and the clients who have to deal with her due to issues with her staff. I have been to many "upscale" salons in Scottsdale AZ, but Izzy out done them all. I am very happy with the color, but the way he cut my hair is what will make me go back to Sergio's while I am working here. It's so easy to style now, it falls naturally and looks great. He then proceeded to accuse me of lying about when I reached out to him about the promotional deal saying he had "call logs" . So do I? I purchased the Groupon in January of 2025 and reached out to him in March. The deal didn't expire until July and was redeemable at any time. He didn't ever follow up with me. And when I reached out to him to schedule later, he didn't say a word about it. It wasn't until after I made the appointment and showed him a photo of a woman with light face framing and small highlights that he started bringing up all sorts of misconceptions from the past. He said he was keeping his text for legal reasons and told me that I was blocked from further communication. His text was also sprinkled with unprofessional emojis and just a horrible attitude overall. Telling me to "review away" and that his work speaks for itself. I was totally caught off guard by this, but as another person commented-- "narcissistic rage" was the perfect way to put it. Do not let such an unstable person touch your hair!

Not only did he cancel her appointment he said that he never wanted to see her again. He said he needs to "part ways with you professionally indefinitely." This apparently came out of the previous session where we were nearly an hour late due to a medical appt. and after confirming with him that would be okay. He had left the salon even though we kept in touch by telephone. He could have rescheduled, but insisted it was okay and he came back. That was on him. He stated that "I totally felt used!" His 350 word unstable rant is unconscionable. Taryn may be talented, but this behavior is an ugly stain. Therefore, we would give your business a "O" star and recommend to our long list of friends and acquaintances that they stay away from Studio 31.

One of the staff has a chair here her name is Melonie, and her mom works at the shop too. I went in for a condition and cut, and left super happy feeling like I was in a Herbal Essences ad. She spent time assessing the condition and texture of my hair, gave me a great cut, and showed me some new tips for styling. They do waxing there too.
