I recently took a job in Albuquerque and needed to find a new salon. Sergio's was on the list of "Best Salons in town". I was able to get an appointment the same week with Izzy. I have been to many "upscale" salons in Scottsdale AZ, but Izzy out done them all. I am very happy with the color, but the way he cut my hair is what will make me go back to Sergio's while I am working here. It's so easy to style now, it falls naturally and looks great. I was referred to Sergio's by a coworker. I've been going to an upscale salon since I moved to Albuquerque and while I love the extra care like a hand massage and fruity water, the price of service is not worth the final results. Lauren is phenomenal. I know what I want..in general...but I need a professional to hold my hand a bit. Tell me what my hair needs. She did just that. She corrected some poor patterning in my highlights and covered up my gray...which is always my main goal. The environment is boisterous...mainly because Lauren is there. She took the time to do what needed to be done. That is VERY VERY important to me. I hate being rushed because someone scheduled back to back clients and didn't expect too take that long. That facility was clean and modern. Comfortable. Great conversation. Paul Mitchell is a great brand. I trust their products and this salon is a great Paul Mitchell example. I highly recommend you give Lauren a ring for an appointment if you need a knowledgable colorist that will make your tresses happy. I am so happy I took the leap and tried Sergio's Hair Studio. Sergio cut and styled my hair exactly how I asked him to. I can tell a novice from a pro and I can tell you he is a master stylist who knows his stuff. He can cut any style you want. My hair is fine, wavy, and has cowlicks. I told Sergio I'm trying to let my hair grow a little bit longer and he listened and didn't cut off too much. Sergio also was friendly and took the time to get acquainted with me, and I appreciate that! For the first time in years, I've scheduled my next appointment before walking out of the salon. I was referred to Mandy who got back to me quickly. I was hooked after my first visit. She listens to your needs and preferences, makes suggestions, does a great job with the color and highlights, and the razor cut gives my very fine hair some needed body. I was searching for a new stylist to help revive my color and cut. Found this place during a yelp search and booked with Samantha. She was able to mix a magic color that I have been seeking for 12months!!! She listened to my needs and made me feel like we'd been friends prior to this meeting. Over all, salon was quiet; no music was on and only a few customers in the late evening. Coffee and magazines were provided and no high pressure tactics were done to up-sell. Areas appeared clean and staff supported each other. I would have given 5 stars but the couch in the waiting area was in need of a cleaning or replacement and didn't great me as clean upon entry. However the overall shop and staff are knowledgeable and welcoming. I already booked my next appointment! read more

I have known Sergio for over 15 years I finally found a stylist who could work with my hair in a way that fits my needs. On occasion, when Sergio is not available I have seen other stylist without hesitation considering I am so picky with my hair. This location has been opened less than 5 years. I can remember it being a big empty room & Sergio together with his staff renovated it to what it is now. In addition, the staff is committed to a high standard with continuing their professional trainings as a Paul Mitchell hair studio. ( I was hoping that at the very least I would walk out with hair I would feel OK about due to the crap color and cuts I have received elsewhere.) . Sergio was rude . He made me hold the tin foils and give them to him . I am a customer not his helper . His studio is gross . There's empty pixxa boxes and empty sonic drinks lying around everywhere . Hes very aggressive and not patient . Didnt talk to me at all or asked how i wanted my hair . He had me waiting on the side while hes helping other people at the same time . I will not be coming here again . read more

I am new to abq and was super nervous finding a new place to get haircuts because I have curly/wavy hair that's difficult to manage. I scheduled an appointment with Lauren Robbs on Saturday March. 7th at 10:00am. I walked in at 9:50am was greeted by a lady with short hair and purplish highlights. I was told to be seated and help myself to coffee and or water. I sat there for an hour as other people were taken back to get hair cuts etc. NEVER did I get any attention from anyone else there. Sergio (the owner?) sat behind the front desk computer screen on his phone while talking to another hairdresser about having his hair dyed before he leaves tonight to go to a party while I sat there.....2 girls chatted in up in a room next to the front desk about babies and other stuff as I sat there. I have NEVER gone to an "supposedly upscale" hair salon and ignored to the point were I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! EVER!!!! Your company needs to learn customer service and to also KEEP YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS!!!! So extremely disappointment. read more

I had bought some raffle tickets to support St Jude children's hospital. I was very excited to win an awesome certificate to Sergios. The certificate said the stylists name was Lauren. The first time I called I was told she was on maternity leave so I waited a few months to set my appointment. The expiration date was for December so I decided to schedule my appointment for the week before. My appointment was for 9am with Lauren. I got to the salon at 8:45 and waited for the salon to open. By 9:30, no one was there still and after leaving a few messages I left. I decided to call back later and was told she was out of town. No call for cancelation or reschedule. Do not offer to donate your services for such a great cause and then not follow through. Very unprofessional! read more

Mandy, has great photos on her work and I believe she could be talented . BUT I HAD AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I have never had such a sloppy hair color. First the salon is very dirty and old. While waiting for my color to set in Mandy asked if I wanted something to drink and I happily accepted coffee . She then pointed to the coffee machine and said I could make my own. I had trouble with the machine and she did not pause to quickly help me. TO TOP OFF THE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE THE COLOR WAS WORSE. I had a half an inch color stain around my entire forehead to my ears. I got a paper towel to scrub off my face and asked her what to use to remove stain , she sprayed some liquid on my paper towel and did not even clean up her mess. I had to clean it up ...i scrubbed my face for about 5 mins. Had to go home and take a shower had to cancel my appt after service because I did not want to go out looking as if I colored my own hair . read more
