We had a good experience with Anthony & Sylvan Pools. We did however discuss a railing, but this was never put in. Also, there was a cover issue, however this was corrected and Alex was helpful and we were credited for a portion of the inconvenience. If you are thinking of going with this company, make sure you discuss your concerns going forward. So far, we are pleased with our pool. Our project manager was very attentive to our needs. He came out to check the work after each phase of construction and sent pictures with a description of what was completed and what would come next. read more

Thought a liner pool was the better option, A&S quoted a little more than a liner, but the unique design and features are well worth it.

They subcontract everything out. They refused to finish grouting in the tile we pointed out during construction. They left construction debris all over the property. There are footprints all over the plaster pool. Zero response from them even after putting in warranty claim. read more

Working with Anthony & Sylvan has been one of the most frustrating and costly experiences we've ever had as homeowners. For three years, we've dealt with poor customer service, subpar workmanship, and delays with claims. The warranty issue dragged on for over a year, and now--just two months after the warranty expired--a large chunk of plaster has fallen off the pool. To make matters worse, we were forced to pay for water delivery after the company drained the pool for warranty repairs. Even the delivery driver commented that he had never heard anything positive about this company. Anthony & Sylvan does not stand behind its work, does not value its customers, and does not deliver the quality promised. We've been a regular customer of AS Pools for 10+ years - but no more. Every time I had them close my pool, I had things mysteriously "missing", including a valve handle that cost $35 to replace. I'm NOT claiming the valve handle was stolen - the day before pool closing - as I backwashed to lower the pool level for closing - as odd as it sounds - I made a video of the backwashing from the DE filter to the end of the backwash hose to share with a fellow pool nerd... and all three valves are in place. Less than 24 hrs later, the Jandy valve handle was gone - and the only people in my back yard and near my pool equipment were the people sent by AS to close my pool for the season. The previous year - two solid cover tensioner handles disappeared after my pool closing. I'm sure it's all coincidence - and your coincidences and experience may vary. read more

I paid $27,000 to have my pool renovated by Anthony & Sylvan who originally built the pool. The quarts surface is cracked and discolored and rough in areas. The coping looks like it is 20 years old. The grout was grossly discolored. After a year of trying to get Anthony and Sylvan to correct the poor quality of their products they would only offer to acid wash a newly surfaced pool which is something highly discouraged. Before my warranty expired, my pool had a plaster problem, i reported it and then we had Covid that slowed up progress. Today we still have not rectified the problem. It took forever to get the work done then when it was done it was poor work and incorrect. We have reach out to so many people at Anthony sylvan. In the beginning so helpful but one they get your money slow progress no return calls. Beware of Anthony & Sylvan Pools - a company that appears professional but is anything but. Their alluring sales process and impressive 3D pool designs are merely a facade for what is an utterly disorganized and unprofessional operation. Initially, we chose them over others, expecting that a larger, more established company would ensure a smooth experience, despite their premium pricing. However, this expectation was quickly dashed. The nightmare began right after signing the contract. The only commendable part was the initial design process; everything that followed was a series of disappointments. A major issue arose from Anthony & Sylvan's lack of foresight and coordination. In a notable example, their project manager advised us to construct a retaining wall at the back of the pool before they commenced their plumbing work. The rationale given was that the wall's placement was necessary to determine the positioning of the pool equipment. However, once the wall was completed, they cited it as a reason for being unable to excavate for their plumbing, claiming potential damage to the wall. This left us in a predicament where we had to undertake and fund the additional excavation work. The situation was a clear oversight on their part, as they should have anticipated the need to excavate for plumbing prior to the completion of the wall. The compensation they offered for our extra work was woefully inadequate, covering less than 5% of the costs we incurred due to their planning error. Further compounding our frustration, their electrician quit unexpectedly, leading to further delays. We had to hire and pay for our own electrician, with promised reimbursement still pending. The project timeline was a complete disaster. What was initially scheduled for completion in October 2022 stretched out, with the shell poured in November 2022. We anticipated completion by spring 2023, only for it to drag on until August 2023. This not only disrupted our summer plans but also turned our dream project into a prolonged nightmare. Another distressing issue was the coping installation. It was a disaster from the start - unevenly laid with chipped corners and varying gaps between stones, reflecting a complete lack of attention to detail. The mortar was carelessly spread over the top of the coping, altering its intended gray tone to an unsightly beige, completely mismatching the pavers we had chosen. After weeks of arguing and seeking a resolution, we were compelled to hire another company to remove and reinstall the coping correctly. We were initially told by our project manager that we would be compensated for this additional work, but Anthony & Sylvan later reneged on this promise. Financially, the company's practices were questionable. We had paid 90% of the pool's cost by the time the concrete shell was poured. This was done in November of 2022, and the pool wasn't completed until August 2023. We are now fighting, 4 months after completion, to recover over $25,000 for services not provided and additional expenses we incurred, including the concrete deck, electrical work, and the extensive coping repairs. This is over a year since we made the 90% payment they required to continue the project. I also want to highlight that throughout the project, we faced relentless pressure from their project managers to leave a 5-star review, even when the work was nowhere near completion. This practice of soliciting premature positive reviews raises serious questions about the authenticity of their online reputation and is a deceptive tactic that misrepresents the actual customer experience. This entire process, which should have been hands-off and customer-centric, turned into a daily management nightmare, spanning nearly 2 years. We strongly advise anyone considering Anthony & Sylvan Pools to do thorough research and steer clear of this company. We contracted Anthony & Sylvan Pools for renovation. We paid over $2000 more for all above-ground pipes replaced. The renovation started in early April. Two of their subcontractor plumbers showed up and only replaced some pipes and left a few untouched. They said that wasn't what they were paid to do and went on to tell us to replace the filter system and the pump (both in good working condition). We contacted the project manager who wanted us to replace the pump as well. We called in the renovation specialist who had written up the contract and reconfirmed that the pipes should be all replaced. Then a manager called us and wanted photos of our pump and tried again to push a new pump on us. We refused. That was back in late April. Up to this day (June 3), they have not done anything about the unreplaced pipes. No one is returning our calls or emails. We contacted the scheduler, who was pleasant on the phone but seemed powerless. I wouldn't recommend Anthony & Sylvan to anyone. My experience with them make me think that they don't have the basic decency. read more

David Brooks salesman gave us the best sales experience since arriving in the US 19 years ago. We wanted to redo tile and coping. He was on time courteous and knowledgeable about the process. He advised on tile trends as we were choosing tile for a house sale rather than personal choice. The price he gave by email later that day was extremely fair and to be honest much less than we expected. Later we added on a repair to a line. Again the price was extremely fair. The work was scheduled and did slip a day or two due to weather. It was though completed efficiently and carefully. The pool inspector mentioned how well it had been done. We were so impressed with David's contact and help in getting this work done as quickly as possible. A last minute request for an estimate for lights on a Friday afternoon and David provided it within 10 minutes as we needed it for contract negotiations. Highly impressive! read more

Stay clear of this company . it has been very unpleasant experience for me . I had purchased a new liner for in ground pool last august from A/S pools after a few weeks of waiting I was told I had to pick a different liner original choice was not available . The second choice liner showed up in October and in late October the installer tried to install the liner and ran into issues with keeping liner in track .He also could not explain two large wrinkles in deep end approx 2inches of material sticking up on both seams . Obviously the field measuring was incorrect and A/S flat out refused to acknowlege the wrinkles even after sending pics clearly showing the liner badly wrinkled. After some discussions it was decided by A/S pools that it was too late in season to address this . This March I was emailed 3 dates the installer would be here but failed to show up to any of those dates. After many calls and emails to my rep an A/S service manager told me someone would be out next day - A/S finally got liner in track late April .The liner is falling out of track already . I emailed service manager and of course received no response - that was over a week ago . I don't expect any service from A/S -I will be forced to hire a different pool company to reset liner and learn to live with wrinkles in a 7000$ investment . don't make same mistake as me and find a different pool company that cares about quality and their clients . read more
