    fish and chips

A great place a little cheaper than eating at Atlantis - and very walkable. (We were staying at the Royal). They have a big menu with a wide variety of things so it's probably a good place to bring your family if you have picky kids. Calamari was on point. Coconut Shrimp was delicious, and I appreciate a place with a good baked potato on the menu. (It goes by the British iteration here - jacket potato). My husband got the fish and chips which he enjoyed - it was a huge portion. Beware of the annoying timeshare guy hanging around out front though. He distracted my cat petting. I don't know if the cat wandered over from Atlantis (they have a bunch of cats) but there was a cat lounging out front begging for pets :)

Judge for yourself...do these shrimp look like they're cooked through??

Bottom line first. Scary food, horrible service, abominable bathroom. Beware. So we landed late at Nassau. We were excited by the advertisement for this place at the airport, saying it's right across the street from the resort for meals at a reasonable price. However, the set up directing foot traffic to the Marina created a slight detour. When we got there, the front person said that they were stopping service for the evening. I stated that I thought they were open until 10, and she said that they stopped service at 9:30. Only after I pointed out that it was 9:31 did she reluctantly sat us down at a table. In retrospect, we should've took her advice and left, because what followed was a true exercise in frustration. Although one server handed us the menu reasonably quickly and ask what we wanted to drink, it took her a while to get back to ask what we wanted for food. I ordered the coconut shrimp based on a good review, and my girl ordered one of the shrimp specials for $35 that came with some kind of chicken mixed in. I went to the restroom to wash my hands per usual. I noted that the water was running slowly, and there was no soap. On top of that, there was only a hand dryer, which is disgusting given that the door had to be pulled open from inside the restroom. Even when I told one of the members about the soap, she didn't seem that eager to correct the deficiency. After cleaning my hands with my table napkin the best that I can, another 10 to 12 minutes went past, and there was no update on the food. Despite several members floating around, it was shockingly hard to wave down one to try to get an update for the food. We just wanted to ask how close the food was to being ready and even asked if the side dishes can be brought out first since we were so hungry. The woman said she would check but pointed out that we came in late. Really?? The food came out another five minutes after that encounter. I took one bite, and the shrimp was soft...extremely soft. Looking closer, the shrimp did not look like it was cooked through. My wife took a bite out of another shrimp- same thing. Although I was hungry and frustrated, I wasn't about to poison myself by eating raw shrimp. Took another few minutes for us to flag down our original waitress (shocker), and I pointed out the fact that my dish was not acceptable to eat. When she had the audacity to say to us once more that we came in at the last minute, I said firmly, "if I knew you were gonna serve me RAW shrimp, I wouldn't have stayed." She looked at me, seemingly stupefied, and asked if I wanted another dish. Although I initially asked for the menu, I decided just to share what my wife had and got the hell out of here. If you want bad service and risk getting food poisoning, come here. For everybody else who is not insane, find another place, and definitely stay the HELL away near closing time.

Expensive lobster tacos that tastes exactly like $1 street tacos

Good old-fashioned grifting in a tourist trap. The last thing you'd expect from a restaurant is getting hustled but watch out for these guys - they will sneak in a 30% tip for themselves without your knowledge. When you pay your bill, they only give you a total amount, not an itemized bill so you don't know what the charges are. And they stare at you to pressure you into signing the credit card slip immediately. It was only afterwards that I ran the numbers based on photos of the menu I took earlier and realized the server gave herself a 30% tip. Conchless conch fritters? Yep all six pieces were 100% batter. No conch anywhere to be found. Not a single tiny morsel of conch. Service was questionably slow. Ordered 5 dishes total. Only four showed up. Each time we asked about the last one, the waitress said it was coming right up. But after 40 minutes of waiting, we gave up. On the bright side, the rest of the food was pretty decent. The pork belly had pretty good flavor. It was reminiscent of teriyaki and was quite delish. Though the pieces with larger chunks of meat were really hard. The lobster tacos? I'm not sure if I feel more disappointed in the chef or more sorry for the poor lobster. They took expensive lobster and made it taste exactly like $1 shrimp street tacos. Yes they should be quite ashamed of themselves. The lobster's ghost was just shaking its head asking WTF? Shrimp curry was seriously over-salted. Salinity overpowered much of the delicate complexities of the curry so it's hard to tell if it was actually any good. It did work well on the piece of bread and the Bahamian rice. Speaking of which, the rice was superb. The rice was the only thing they really did right! Avoid this place. I know everyone comes here to try and escape the astronomical prices at Atlantis but the low quality food and the grifting just ain't worth your tome or money.

This is a great option for a good meal outside of Atlantis resort. It s literally a block from the area of Atlantis with the restaurants outside. Prices are better than Atlantis in most things and they have some nice happy hour specials 3-6 everyday like many 2 for 1 drinks and a few dollars off appetizers. Service is friendly and decently paced, a bit slow but everyone is on island time around here. The menu seems a bit pricey on some items, but everything around here is pricey so you just have to get used to it I guess. This trip we went 3 times and had the chicken tenders, nachos, quesadilla, chicken spinach pasta, rib and chicken platter and happy hour drinks. Everything was good. They also have Pepsi products with 1 free refill, but it seemed very syrupy so I only got it once.

Hello! When on Paradise Island, Nassau eat here! We happened by it when our taxi driver told us that he had eaten here before and recommended it. This was the best meal we had during our whole trip! The quality and service were 5 stars. We ate outside on the patio where the cool breeze and sea air were welcoming. We ordered the fried Pork Belly for appetizer, the Steak & Shrimp plate, pepperoni pizza, Anthonys Half Rack Ribs, and the Bahamian Fish & Chips, every single person in our group loved their food. We will definitely be back!

    Lobster tacos-it comes with three.

We are staying at Atlantis so we decided to check this place out. Just across the street from the resort entrance. Pricing was much friendlier than report prices and the food was good. I ordered the lobster tacos and my husband got the grouper. The food was tasty and the portions were more than one person can (should) eat. lol. If you are staying at the resort I would give this place a shot. Also a little grocery around the corner with $2.30 large bottles of water instead of $11.00 at the resort.

I would definitely recommend this spot especially if you're not trying to spend $200 for a good steak dinner. They have indoor and outdoor dining the service was fast and accommodating.

The Anthony's giant sparkler (it's a giant fruit punch cocktail with rum and amaretto) - $25 each

One thing I learned about paradise island; food will cost you an arm and two legs without being so much as tasty.
