I can say that we have a positive experience with my child's teacher and she really do paid attention to each and everyone of her students. She responds to every questions and concerns that I had with my child and the lessons she had, and that is a big plus (communication wise) between a parent and the teacher. My child enjoyed this school (coming from an unorganized, poorly ran school system in AZ).

I transferred him mainly because I wanted him to have more one-on-one attention and better nutrition options. Favorite Pros: 1) Ms. Kaja's kind, warm, nurturing demeanor and Montessori-inspired teaching style. 2) Nutritious meals/snacks and she encourages little ones to participate in preparation. See their menu updated weekly. They also brush after lunch. 3) Superfluous amounts of learning tools/toys/art projects for engaging very young minds. 4) Professional progress reports and picture montage shared at conference time. The school is located in a home but it is far from your typical home daycare aka just a converted Living Room. The whole first floor appears solely dedicated to the school plus a great outdoor space in the backyard. There are 3 separate learning rooms plus the kitchen and restroom. There is a park around the corner from the school as well that they visit occasionally. If you're looking for a lovely and trustworthy low-ratio child care facility that provides real meals and snacks (not just cut up, high sugar Costco treats) with a well-educated and experienced teacher, I highly recommend Strawberry School.

In one instance, a teacher used name-calling toward students--something that should never happen in any school, especially one that claims to reflect Christian values. Administration was equally frustrating. Concerns from both parents and students were consistently dismissed rather than addressed. Instead of feeling heard, I felt brushed off and judged. During a very difficult time in my personal life, I expected neutrality and professionalism, but instead experienced what felt like bias and a lack of basic understanding. Leadership was particularly concerning. While interactions could appear polite on the surface, the follow-through told a very different story. Decisions felt inconsistent and unfair, making it hard to trust the administration at all. The front office experience made things even worse. Shannon, who is often the first point of contact, was repeatedly rude and unprofessional in my interactions. The tone was unwelcoming and dismissive, which sets a terrible example for both families and students. First impressions matter, and in this case, they reflected a much deeper problem within the school culture. To be fair, not every staff member reflects this environment--Mrs. Quilcy stands out as kind, patient, and genuinely supportive of students. She deserves recognition for the way she treats families. Unfortunately, one positive example does not outweigh the broader issues. For a school that promotes faith and character, the lack of compassion, professionalism, and willingness to listen was deeply disappointing. He's a retired teacher that comes and helps organize games for the kids like flag football, kick ball and basket ball. What a great guy! My daughter especially likes Mrs. Pakari. She's a 3rd grade teacher, she's very patient and all around a great teacher! I haven't always been fond of all my children's teacher but she's definitely one of the good ones! The ladies in the office are always helpful, especially Mrs. Phoenix. Overall, I think this is one of the best schools in the district!

I was given very detailed information about what the program would entail and was able to see a class in session before enrolling. As my son completes pre-k in a few weeks, I have to give a shout out to Ms. Mayte and the team (especially Ms. Seena and Ms. Miriam) for all they have done for us. My son started the school year pretty shy and apprehensive and has blossomed into a bubbly and social preschooler. It's been an amazing thing to see. The school gives us regular updates throughout the week on the Brightwheel app and anytime I've had any questions or needed some time to chat, I would hear back from his teachers promptly. We get photos through the app as well that are always exciting. Sometimes it's a snap of playtime, a celebration, or completing a milestone and receiving kudos. Along with the basics of letters and numbers, my son has gotten to learn about different cultural holidays and has loved telling us what he's learned. He always seems to be doing a new activity and doing the half day program has definitely been the right choice for our family. Ms. Mayte took the time to really get to know our son and has been instrumental in all areas of his development this year. I can only hope that he will continue to have great teachers for the rest of his academic journey!

The principal isn't that great either. My sister told me that one time her friend went to the office because he was called a brat then the principal replied by saying "Well your acting like one." Also when I was sick while also having those family problems I had to stay home from school for a week, the principal didn't believe my mom's note, she shook her head in disbelief. Also, when I was getting bad grades, my mom went to go have a meeting with the principal. When she came back she told me that the principal said that the teacher would be in before school to help me with my schoolwork and guess what? She wasn't there. The principal is really protective over the teacher.

It was their mistake and instead of allowing my child to complete the full year there, they took it upon themselves to remove my child and tell me that I would not be able to get a district transfer. Please note when I viewed the TUSD elementary boundary map, my address qualifies for that school. I even came into the office during enrollment season and verified it with the staff there. I took the proper channels to ensure my child was qualified for that specific school. Not only did this stress me out, my child who was comfortable with her teacher and class, we had arrangements friends to help pick up my child is now emotional distraught to know that she has to start a brand new school that is even farther from our residence. Mind you the school we were attending was not full and had plenty of room, their reasoning to pluck my child out was to ensure all the upcoming kids in new development had a space (which i live in) The staff at TUSD is disorganized, rude and without taking responsibility of owning up to their mistake.
