I was referred to Anthony's from my communities forum on Facebook. I had a broken wheel on a brand new carry-on luggage. I came into their storefront, parking was super easy and right away. The vibe was welcoming and helpful! Anthony went to the back to get a quote he was also looking to see if he had the exact wheel match which he did. Unfortunately, the cost to repair it was more than the luggage so it couldn't justify fixing it, but there was a row of luggage that people had brought in ready to get repaired so this is the place to do it if you have a luggage you love and willing to spend the money to fix it. These people are artisans. It's becoming a lost art and I'm so glad that we have something like this right here on 17th street. I've had them resole shoes, rework my wife's favorite purse, and lots of easier things (you've never seen a shoe-shine like they will do!) It isn't fast or cheap, but it is exceptional quality. Actually, now that i think about it, they have always delivered earlier than their original estimated date. It's called Anthony's but the owner is actually Michael. He's a really nice guy who knows what he's talking about. Twice I've gone in there to ask if I should refinish something, and he showed me why it just wasn't worth it. This place is a joke. Avoid. 1. Held onto shoe for 2 months with no communication. After calling multiple times, they said "my guy can't fix it" 2. Front desk lady/owner is rude as heck 3. I dropped off my sandal to be repaired and was told it would be ready in 2.5 weeks. When I went in to pick it up, I was told to wait for a phone call because it wasn't ready. It's now been 4 weeks with no updates or communication. On top of that, the woman who works the front desk and answers the phone is very rude. I got a preloved Chanel wallet and the interior had a rip in the coin pocket so I brought it in and turns out the wear was worse than expected. The rip was actually the lining coming off completely as well so Greg said they would need to reline it and could do it in a week. The price was a bit more than I expected, but I also just went in thinking it was a rip so just a bit of sticker shock. But I left the wallet with them and came back a week later and she is PERFECT! Solid shoe repair store!!! Seriously, Anthony saved my life (and Tory Burches.) I've been meaning to touch up my shoes for a long time but needed to find the right store that would give my flats the TLC it deserved. I shopped around to find the right one and finally settled with Anthony's because not only was it close to my work, they also have a Yelp coupon to help lower the cost of the repair. I believe I was quoted $75 for sole and heel repair but paid less than that with the coupon. Anthony took the time to explain exactly what kind of repairs my shoes really needed in order for the work to last much longer. Seeing as how TB doesn't make the most reliable pair of flats (intentional, of course) I knew that I could stretch it out for a couple more years with Anthony's advice. I had been quoted a week for the repair to be finished. I came back but unfortunately it had not been completed. Nonetheless, Anthony promised me that he would get it done the next day. I figured it was no problem since it was during Labor Day Weekend. I came back and my shoes looked brand new! He had even gone through the effort of touching up the dye on the shoes since it was in serious need as well. Thank you so much for everything! I was in the store and not only witnessed Mike being extremely condescending to a client but then he continued to talk and laugh about her once she was walking out of the store. It's not really a good sign when you're trying to get your items repaired and witness such disheartening treatment. I would hope he would take into consideration how unprofessional it is to do such a thing especially when other clients are witnessing the disrespect. For several YEARS I've had two projects that I needed help with but I procrastinated, not knowing where to go or whom to trust. The first project was to shorten two leather belts. Anthony's took off 3.5 inches from the buckle end while ensuring that little decorative markings on the belts still lined up symmetrically. They came back more flexible and more comfortable to wesr. Sweet! The second project was to replace the velcro on two exercise ankle weights I've had since college. Michael determined that only the "hook" side had to be replaced, saving me half the labor. I am pleased with the quality and quickness of the work, and I'm even more impressed by how engaged Michael was in assessing my projects and involving me in the decision making. The sincere regrets when I take advice from my local Designer department store Notdstrom and head over to shorten a Christian Louboutin sandals that needed a hole added to make ankle strap tighter and then make the excessive strap after fastening a little shorter which is easily done as both the Designer shoe sales person said and so did the owner of this shoe repair store as he quoted easy little task... I left it and went back to pick up 2 months ago and when I tried it on it was was too short so he created way so many holes and way too short of a strap... when I saw the extra piece he saved to show me I knew it seemed a bit too much extra but he is the expert right! I try it on and he says oh oh well wear it and if I need to stretch the strap a bit with heat I will... go wear it and we will see! I did for the first time in Vegas for New Years and I couldn't even buckle or take off properly for the strap at the very largest hole is the only one that fits properly for me to walk. I go in today to see if the stretching could be done when he says he wants to add elastic to strap and that is the only option and that it was somehow my fault for his mistake in measuring !! What ??! Not even an apology !! Then he is being sarcastic and rude instead of owning the mistake... I am getting blamed, humiliated and full of regrets that I could trust an old shoe repair man that repairs old shoes could be trusted with brand new $1k shoes! I love my Tieks. I've had them for over 8 years, so they are very hard to part with. When I bought them in 2013, I knew they would last a long time, because of the quality of the leather. But as a ballet shoe, the bottoms on them became basically slip and slide. I looked up Anthony's and had a nice chat over the phone and told to bring them in. The work done on my shoes was top notch work. I'm not sure if i was charged too high or too low based on the fact they were the first place I called. I feel that what I paid was completely worth it. Michael saved the day!!! I broke the handle on my Gucci backpack. First thing I did was go straight to Gucci. They quoted me $250 to do a simple stitch and at least 6-8 weeks turnaround. I used to work at Nordstrom and Anthony's is where we always referred our customers to. I didn't realize that all of the locations are owned by different owners. I took my mom's 33-year-old Chanel backpack here that she used as her diaper bag when I was born. I brought it here to get refinished and I was super hesitant since it is lambkin and very delicate and a super soft material. The texture of the bag is completely destroyed. It is extremely rough and dragging and feels as though it was spray-painted. When I picked it up I literally cried because of how upset I am that this special that has so much meaning has completely been altered in a irreversible way.I'm sure this guy does good work on other things but if you have extremely expensive and valuable bags I recommend bringing them elsewhere read more
