My BFF RAVES about this store and has bought many items for their home as well as ours. After dinner we decided to drop in since I'd never been in the store or shopped, key word "NEVER". We walk in, maybe 1 other customer yet maybe 5 workers if my count is correct. One lady advised of the 40% sale area and then vanished. Me, walking around with an item to try on, passed at least the 5 ladies I counted, never asked "would you like a dressing room, is there anything I can help you ladies with?". Expected proper customer service for the price point. One may ask, "did you ask for a fitting room"?", nope I sure did not. I've worked in CS before and it's your "job" to ensure EVERYONE that walks through that door is treated kind, with respect AND as a valued customer hoping they'd be become a repeat customer. With so many stores closing, people losing jobs and the store almost empty, they should have wanted that additional purchase to close their quota or go beyond for the night. Whether the people in store knows it or not, this economy is very fragile to offer this level of service. I'll end with this, I will/would never step foot in this/that store again or purchase online and/or recommend this store to anyone. Such a disappointment for a 1st time visitor, notice I didn't say "customer". read more

The store is clean and the employees are... helpful, checking on you rather often. The wooden hangers and floor let you know it's gonna be pricey, very pricey, and it IS. They have purses, dresses, shoes, makeup, candles, and the clearance section is ok. Their Cabana perfume is nice for the summer. read more

I've spent ALOT of money in this store but I'm done. From now on I'm buying online and for as long as I'm in Memphis, the only time I'll visit this store is to do returns. I was followed around in the store the other night, I was in the back room for about 25 minutes and the girl came back there 5 times to "check" on me. I wasn't wearing a coat, had on yoga pants and I don't wear a big purse (it's the size of a wallet). I wasn't anywhere near the little trinkets on the wall. I was on the phone and shuffling through the tightly packed racks. What was I going to steal? How would I have done it? I mean it was just blatant profiling. Soooo since you can't treat me like you treat the other women who roam the store for hours and don't buy anything, I can no longer help you make your sales goals. read more

What am I missing? I see other Yelpers raving about their great customer service, but I received just the opposite. I actually avoided the store for years after only two visits. During the first visit, I was completely ignored by sales staff even after asking for assistance. I assumed it was just an off day. On my second visit, I was again ignored by staff then followed around by a sales associate. I left and said I would never return, but here we are again... I was in a rush to find a dress for a last minute dinner event. I wanted something nice, but not too dressy, and with a cool pattern. I thought Anthro would be the perfect place! Unfortunately, I found myself ignored by two different associates as I moved about the store. Of course, someone magically appeared the moment I started touching the clothing... Anthropologie was one of my favorite stores in Chicago, I was ever so excited to see that they have a newly acquired location in Germantown. Yes, it is expensive, yet I have never had any problems with shelling out my hard earned dough for something I have found inside the confines of this store. They have the best selection of clothing, jewelry, hats and home goods. My favorite by far is, of course, the jewelry. The pieces I find here are so gorgeous I always find myself picking them up and taking in all the intricacies. They are like individual art pieces to hang upon your limbs. No two pieces are alike, and I love that. I also love that these pieces are forever receiving compliments. Hats are another guilty pleasure of mine. In winter months you'd be hard pressed to find me without some sort of fashion adorning my head. Anthropologie has every type imaginable with feathers, bows, beads and everything under the kitchen sink. They are just as gorgeous as the jewelry. I love that they are "loud" yet very humble all at the same time. They definitely make a statement and I can always find one to perfectly compliment something in my wardrobe. The clothing here is beyond gorgeous. I love their dresses. They are very retro meets hippy-chick. I've noticed them gearing more towards toe 50s "Mad Men" type styles, and you'll hear no complaints from this girl on that. I love the 50s and I have been wishing with all my might for quite some time that the fashions of that decade would come back in style. Like I stated before, Anthropologie is expensive, but everything here is high quality and the odds that you are going to run into someone wearing the same thing are pretty slim to none. I've been purchasing from here for years now and have never run into anyone wearing my same outfit, hat, purse or necklace. read more

The service here is well above average. I don't shop here often as their offerings are quite pricey. I cannot justify paying $80 for a shirt...often. However, I do stop in from time to time and nab sale items. On my last trip I was so impressed by an associate named Danae (I'm not sure of the spelling, but it is pronounced "da-NAY." She saw me looking through the shoes and asked what size I wore. I told her and she asked me to have a seat nearby. She went through each box and selected every shoe in my size for me to try on. That is really going above the excellent service I'm accustomed to at Anthropologie. I cannot rate the store five stars because they often place items "on sale" with glaring defects. I feel that a missing button or dirt spot are issues that can be overlooked as the garment is still able to be used. I've come across ripped shirts, jewelry with missing stones and the like. Such pieces cannot be used and should not be for sale in a regular retail outlet. Keep an eye out for that if you go. read more

This location is super nice, in a great shopping center (with an insanely huge amount of parking), and has some of the nicest employees of any retail store. They have a huge sale section, and the store itself has a ton of variety. Of course it's pricey, but that's the nature of the store. Other customers tend to be kind of snooty (it's a kind of snooty area) but I've never had an employee act that way. Plus, the smell/cuteness makes me want to live there! read more

Anthropologie is my favorite retail store. The burning candles, friendly staff, and artful store displays give the shopper a positive, inspiring experience whether or not they walk out the door with a bag in their hand. The statement clothes, accessories, stationery, home décor, coffee table books, and other items you didn't know you loved will have you discovering and learning about something new each time you walk through the store. Many women wish they could afford an entire wardrobe and house of Anthropologie clothes and items but can't. I agree that some things are simply overpriced. However, they always have a well-stocked sale section that is frequently replenished, and I have never regretted splurging on one versatile piece that I will be able to wear again and again. I've noticed that Anthropologie has also been selling an increasing number of local businesses' products such as Rifle Paper Co. and Tokketok. I really appreciate an international retailer like Anthropologie supporting local makers. Compared with other Anthros in California and New York, this location in particular has a great fitting room area - well-lit and designed. read more

Oh, how I love Anthropologie! I solely visit this store for their selection of eclectic home decor pieces. If I had an unlimited budget, I'd buy nearly everything. Lots of cute pieces for the kitchen: cookie jars, tea cups, plates, coasters, whatever you want they've got. It is on the pricey side, but you can also score some good deals when things go on sale. I love their clothing and jewelry, but I have yet to actually purchase anything from this realm of the store. Some things, I just can't bring myself to spending a certain amount of money on. Which is a completely personal problem, so if you can afford it, go for it! The Anthropologie website has a bigger selection of home goods, including (outrageously expensive) rugs and art pieces. It's worth a look, and if you're like me, you frequently look and covet said items. Not your cookie cutter mall store, which I love. read more

I love the online store, so I decided to give the storefront a try. Very boho chic atmosphere when you arrive. Grouped in the Saddlecreek with mid tier stores, this is a refreshing light to the area. Was greeted by several employees. they had a sale going with an extra 20% off!!! Racks on Racks of clothes!!! I wish i could find the same clothing on line but that is wishful thinking. read more

I had the worst experience at this store today!!! I was looking to buy several items that my friend told me this location had in my size 12 and they were on sale!! However, I think they are not use to servicing African Americans because I was I the store for 30mins and not one person spoke to me or my mother!! Actually the sales person avoid us over and over again!!! I just completed my order online!! I will never shop at this location and this might be the last time I shop at the company!! My husband took me shopping for my birthday, so of course I wanted to go to Anthropologie! I LOVE that store. Drove over an hour to get there, but I figured it would be worth it (I usually just shop online). I was thoroughly disappointed in the sales staff. I wasn't greeted, then after I got to the check out I was ignored for 10 minutes. I told the salesperson that if the earrings weren't so cute I would have left for poor customer service. I am in commissioned sales...pay attention as to how you treat people. They are the ones paying your bills! read more
