I visited the DSW on Poplar Avenue in Memphis today looking for a pair of New Balance shoes. They didn't have the exact pair I wanted in stock, but the staff made the process so easy. They offered to order the shoes right at the counter and have them delivered straight to my home, which I really appreciated. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, patient, and willing to help. The store itself was clean, organized, and easy to navigate. I also noticed they had a really nice selection of other shoes to choose from. Bought a pair of 10 1/2 Crown Vintage office shoes on Sept 13. Wore them 8 days and the rubber trim along the heal on both shoes came off. Tried to "SWAP" the pair for same but the store does not allow swaps or returns "after the shoes are worn even when defective." Terrible store policy - they do not back their products!!! read more

Great place to look for shoes. They have a large selection and you generally will find something. If you are looking for a specific shoe, this may not be your spot. They have bargains and off season shoes and accessories. It is new and good quality just more than likely not current season. At any rate, you will always find something. Size selection is pretty good too. Once a shoe gets down to limited sizes, they will properly put it on the clearance racks. Did I mention those? They have clearance racks with shoes 20 - 70% off. That's right folks 70% off. That is awesome. There usually is staff milling around the sales floor. So if you need assistance, there is someone to help. They have A LOT of options. If you're looking for shoes, start here. I like to meander through the clearance racks first to see if I can save some soles from the racks of shame. Their clearance section is fairly large and you scan the color coded price sticker for an additional discount. Points of Interest: - They will not price match. They lost a sale over $5. Not a big deal, I still got the shoes I wanted at $5 less and only had to wait two days for delivery from a competitor. - They will not honor current coupons unless you bring them. Courtesy coupons are not available. - They will not extend recently expired coupons. Yes, those were all of my attempts to go home with the shoes I wanted at the best price! Very upset. I spent my lunch break finding the perfect shoe for this weekend in the clearance section...I get to the register and I come to find out it's in the wrong box! The informed me they would NOT honor the price ($30 cheaper!!!) that was a mistake on their pet for not "zoning" properly. That was my first & last time going to DSW. This is a very well run shoe store of MEGA proportions. I hardly ever find any casual shoes I like here, but they send awesome rewards coupons a few times a year and I return to scour the store for a couple pairs of heels. read more
