Looked at their website and found one of my favorite shoes marked down. When I got to the store I showed the clerk the shoe and asked if it was on sale because there was no sign indicating a sale. She said no. I told her it was on sale on the website and was trying to pull it up to show her. She said" I don't need to see that , it's not on sale. She went to the back room and when she finally came out told me it was the shoe company who puts shoes on their site who made the mistake. I told her that I drove over because of the website showing them on sale and that they should update their website. As I was leaving she asked what size I wanted and that she would honor it in a very rude and condescending way. Won't be going back to the store. She could have handled that differently by looking at the website I offered to show her and then apologize that the website had not been updated vs bring rude and defensive. read more

I've been shopping here for years. I need to give a review. It feels good to shop locally. I live in midtown & rarely go East. I worked in hospitals as a respiratory therapist for 38 years. I discovered Kaufman's by accident about 10 years ago. My feet have been so grateful. It's so wonderful to have sales associates who actually know about the shoes. I found out yesterday that they go through training. As a health educator, that means a lot. The associate, Pam, was new, but because of her training noted a difference in my stride when I tried on the cheaper pair. I almost ordered the "cuter" ones on line. If you love your feet & want shoes that will last go here. They have shoes for athletes & shoes that are stunning in fashion that won't cause you to head to the podiatrist. read more

Poor customer service and rude! I went in there approx 2 yrs ago and no one even acknowledged I was even in the store so I left. I thought I'd give them another try, thinking maybe it was an off day or something. I went back last week (week of Christmas) while they were having a sale. I had to finally ask someone to help me, while I was trying on the right shoe and needed the left as well. The lady didn't seem like she wanted to help me but did. When she returned, I had found a second shoe to try and asked for the mate and she seemed rather bothered to go get it. I tried on both pair of shoes and loved them but she never came back. And I mean NEVER! So I left the shoes sitting there and walked out. I complained to the store via FB after the incident and they apologized but I won't be back. They don't seem to want to wait on anyone except the customers that they know. Very rude!! read more

What a treat to find a locally owned 5-star store! I love how friendly everyone is at Kaufmans, always greeting me the moment I walk in! Whether I'm just browsing or in need of a specific type of shoe, the staff always helps me (including holding my baby so I can try on shoes and clothes stress free!) I am a huge fan of 'comfort shoes' and their selection is amazing. I'm a teacher and have to be on my feet all day, so I need shoes that look cute while being comfortable. I love that they have great accessories including purses and jewelry by local designers. (Tip: be sure to try the hand lotion at the check out counter...it smells fantastic!) read more

I was amazed this weekend! Spring has started to arrive at Kaufman's! They have gotten in the cutest tops for Spring. They are carrying some brands that I have never seen before. Be sure and check out the darling black and white check top. It is so cute and will "pop" with accessories in the new Spring shoe and handbag styles. I purchased a pair of sandals yesterday and took them out of the box this morning to wear. Something just wasn't right, then I realized there was a piece of grass and a hair on the bottom of one of the shoes. At closer look the box was pretty shabby. Then I noticed the bottom of both shoes were dirty and there were toe impressions in the suede soles. I'm sorry to say but they sold me a used pair of shoes. I went back to the store, not to return them but to bring it to their attention. The first employee I spoke with immediately said it the dirt was from people trying them on and that their carpet was not that clean. I made it clear that I did not believe that. The second employee pretty much said the same thing. This store was recommend by my foot doctor because of the brands they carry. He did not tell me they sold used shoes. For the record their price for the shoes was $115.00 on sale for $34.50. read more
