had an absolutely horrible experience in the bridal section. Went in with a friend to Anthropology and was excited to see that they had a bridal section. I am getting married soon and looking for a gown for my welcome party. I browsed for about 20 minutes before someone approached me. She started a room for me and I continued browsing. Not once was it mentioned to me that I could not look at the bridal gowns on the back wall. I grabbed a dress off the back wall and was very rudely approached and told I could not take gowns off that rack and I needed an appointment. This is fine, but the worker acted like I was committing a crime and was extremely rude and unprofessional the way she approached me. There were no signs about needing an appointment or not removing gowns from the back rack. Sales associate with black rimmed glasses and short dark bob. will not be returning. read more

I'm so glad that there's an Anthropologie so close to home. The invitation for my company's holiday party says cocktail, and my wardrobe is decidedly not that. Anthropologie is a reliable source for special occasion dresses. Classy, cute, sparkly, or tame, they have you covered. I lucked out today because they had a great dress in the size I needed, but if they hadn't, they're happy to order for you. Even if you're not looking for clothes, stop on in--they have some of the cutest housewares, and there are stocking stuffers for everyone on your list right now. read more

My style is similar to what's on Anthropologie's mannequins. Slightly less girly, but very similar. I genuinely like this store, but don't like to admit it. Why? Because I'm a thrift-mongrel and I know that with patience I would find very close replicas of everything they are selling at Anthropologie at a sliver of the price. However, then I'd have to alter it and wash it four times to get the garage sale smell off of it... and everything at Anthropologie already fits and smells lovely. The clothing is adorable and much more unique than any other chain store I can think of. They have an unstoppable dress collection, incredible jewelry (look for sales) and flattering denim (love J Brand). It's also a nice place to look for cool blazers to wear with jeans (my typical work ensemble). Be prepared to drop some change. Cheapskating doesn't cut it at Anthropologie, which is why I've only purchased a few special things here. It's hard for me to turn that cheap gene off. The quality is much better than its little sister, Urban Outfitters. Even though the price tags will make you go blind, you still periodically have to weed out some poorly made clothing and those fabrics that never look the same after they've been washed. If I'm paying $140 for a sun dress, it better look good on my granddaughters. As for the housewares section, I look at the clearance, but I know I'd be tempted to buy the regular-priced home merchandise so I stay away from it. I have more patience and self control when it comes to finding housewares at garage sales and estate sales than I do with clothing. The saleswomen at Anthropologie in Edina sometimes they seem a little flustered, but when the store is quieter they will spend a lot of time helping you pick out the right size and bring you extra things to try on when they think something will look good on you. I don't always appreciate that kind of semi-intrusive service, but it's nice here because there's so much to look through that I miss things sometimes. For now, I have to be content with window shopping and the occasional splurge. If I ever make millions (and/or have less time to thrift), I'll be looking exactly like those mannequins every day. read more

Call me skitso--I've got many moods, which translates into many different clothing styles. When I'm feeling feminine and romantic, I like to stop in Anthropologie. They usually have some good stuff going on in the sales area, and there's always something that'll bring out my inner girliness. In full disclosure, I worked here long ago for a few months. The discount was worth it (and also included Urban Outfitters), but I spent whole days in the dressing area, which became more than monotonous. The feds just raised the sticker-shock level to orange when I walked into this place. Wooo baby, I am just not the one they're looking for to fork over $365 for a simple cotton sundress. There was a bit of depth to their sales rack, though, and women were unabashedly flipping through the hangers (vs. those places where you feel like you have to "sneak" back to look at the sales). Home goods were distinct and fun to look at. Beautiful store -- color, femininity, nostalgia, nature, and sexiness abound. My suggestion: go in with a good girlfriend, have plenty of "oohs" ready to throw out on a moment's notice, and take it in for what it is: not your everyday Coldwater Creek Mom jeans' store. Iin fact, it'll likely remind you of that crazy-great Aunt you have, the one who lights a ton of candles in her place, lives in CA, has a lot of fresh fruit and chinese food cartons in her fridge, and collects doorknobs and random silverware from flea markets. This has become one of my most favorite places to shop. If you are ever looking for unique, feminine clothing that can easily make the transition from the workplace to a night out (while looking classy), then this is the place for you. My favorite in-house label is probably Moth. Be sure to check out the shoes - they're pretty unique. It's hit or miss though (with the shoes). Finally - this place sells great stuff for the home. I love the unique dishes, and the cool laundry detergent for delicate garments. Finally - if you see something you love in Edina and it's not in your size, go to the one in Arbor Lakes (or call them) because they'll probably have it there since the two locaitons have completely different demographics (and taste). read more

They have some really pretty dresses, but the ones that caught my eye cost around $300. :( Some of their stuff is cute, a lot of it was too girlie for me. I was able to find a nice shirt for in their sales racks, but I won't be shopping here regularly. The sales staff was very nice and not at all snooty, which was a very pleasant surprise. Everything is packaged nicely, the store is laid out nicely, and I had an overall pleasant shopping experience. I just wasn't too impressed with the clothes - just not my style. read more

Anthropologie is my clothing store heaven. The smell, the product, the artistry-All of it makes for the my ideal shopping experience. I love the Bohemian style with a retro flare. Everything is very high quality (well, you pay for it)... They do have pretty great sales, so even those who don't call themselves rich (ie. me) can afford to look stylish. This location on 50th and France is my favorite in the Cities. I find that they get the product in earlier than other locations and carry more product. For instance, this is the only store in the Cities that carries shoes. I find myself craving some Antro often. I guess it is obvious where my paychecks end up! :) read more

Love, love, love their clothing. Feminine and soft, down to earth and girlie without looking like a 7 year old. they have some really unique and quirky decorating within the store and items for purchase. I wont pay full price for most of their clothing but the sales rack brings everything down to my level. the attendants are really nice and the dressing room is well lit and HUGE! Their return policy ... if you have the receipt and tags, there is no deadline! you can return at any time. and if you join their club you can even return without the receipt! The only qualm i had was that the chatty check out girl crammed 2 dresses and a vest into a gift sized bag. come on, i just dropped some serious cash, give me a bag that wont crumple my purchase. read more

I love Anthropologie Edina and visit the store whenever I am in the twin cities. After a 7 hour drive, it's my "treat" to my self to shop and browse there. However...the music is usually so loud that it makes staying for any length of time difficult. This has been the case every time I visit the store. On my last visit, a clerk even commented on the loud music...but no one turned it down. I did buy several things, but may have stayed longer and purchased more if the noise level was reduced. read more

Do NOT ever order anything from Anthropologie's website. If you need to modify the shipping in any way, they will return your order WITHOUT asking you if you'd even like it returned! And their customer service is absolutely USELESS! They refuse to assist in anyway, and just spit out lots of technical jargon to excuse the mess they've made of your order. Worst customer service I have ever experienced, and the most outdated, backwards online ordering/shipping system I have EVER had the misfortune to deal with. Anthropologie needs to start treating their customers with respect, and not messing around with their orders. I paid for my dress, and never received it, because they decided to return it (AFTER I'd already paid for it), without receiving any authorization from me to do so! It is so outrageous. read more

I was in Anthropologie again this misty evening. I must say, my experience was much better than my last. The prices are still overzealous given the apparel, yet the selection was beyond stellar. The new spring accessories and housewares are very unique and pleasing. The markdown items were not the style less items from my last visit. This time, they were actually things that would be appropriate for the season. Again, the perfumes were a delight as well as the gift items such as boxes, jewelry, unique books, candles, and other baubles. The only negative moment I had was as a result of my own gracelessness. I managed to spill about 30mL of dandelion/peony perfume on myself and my pants. The concentrated smell is quite displeasing, however, if used in a small amount, I am sure it would be quite enjoyable. read more

I would not recommend ordered any type of "furniture" rugs included from Anthropologie.com. I ordered a sale rug, 8x10 size that had to be delivered via one their third party "white glove" delivery companies (Metropolitan or Twin Cities delivery company since I am in Minnesota). The standard delivery fee is $150. So, ok since I was getting a deal on the rug, I could be patient and wait 4 weeks. Well 4 weeks came and no rug. I called Metropolitan and they said the rug was still in California (possibly written off as a lost product, is what service rep made it sound like) and said she would call back with more info....she never did. So I called Anthropologie directly that next week, they advised me that the delivery company had switched to Twin Cities (thanks for notifying the customer!) Then I proceeded to ask if this delivery mishap was a common occurrence and what could be done if anything about the inconvenience of this whole matter. All I was offered was $25 off my order of over $400. Ok, I said, and proceeded to call Twin Cities delivery company to find out where my rug was. The woman who answered put me on hold to 'finish up a precious order" while she forgot to press hold and carried on a conversation with her boyfriend about lunch. After she came back to the line, she couldn't find my order and said that it must have just arrived that day and that she would get back to me with details about delivery. Delivery is scheduled for this Sat. We shall see if this rug was worth waiting for... read more

super expensive for what is really one step above urban outfitters. Nice seats, nice design of the space - they always have some fantastic display or windows going on in here. As for the clothing? Overpriced and the quality isn't that great. And chances are if you buy stuff here, you'll look like all the other people who have an Anthro in their city. You don't want that, do you? Went to do a return today and the store was having all kinds of register/server problems, not helpful on a holiday and busy shopping weekend! We had to run the return a few times. I understood and was patient. The manager (I think?) was so apologetic and offered me an UNBELIEVABLE deal as an apology for the problems. She certainly didn't have to give me anything, and this was an incredible deal. I didn't end up taking her up on it as I was all shopped out for the holiday weekend, but I was so impressed with the service. She went above and beyond to make up for problems (which were not her fault). Highly recommend this store to everyone. read more

Pretty cute and the store always has beautiful windows and displays but the pricing seems high for what you are getting. The home decor can be found at the same quality level for less and I know they mark up higher than other shops who carry some of the same lines. I can appreciate this from tiny boutiques who offer truly personal service and a well edited selection but not so much from a chain with moderately trained staff and massive buying power. I enjoy my sale purchases but usually avoid paying full price for anything. More of a browsing while waiting for my table type of shop for me. read more

While I love Anthropologie itself, the staff at the Edina location is more pretentious than most people of Edina, which is saying quite a bit. While waiting for my friend to try things on, I witnessed the staff talking about how they take it as a challenge to talk customers into things they don't like on them. They dropped references to models that people who aren't completely obsessed with fashion would not understand and then rolled their eyes at EVEY SINGLE CUSTOMER who didn't know who these elderly models were. Which was every single customer in the hour I spent there. We went to this one, since the one in Maple Grove had moved, to try it out, and was planning on spending quite a bit. We do this specific shopping trip annually, going in and essentially asking the staff to play dress up with us, making lots of outfits that can mix and match with each other, and normally spend about $2000. Left spending maybe $600, and only because the outfits I found by myself were so cute. I will never again go to this store, and highly encourage everyone to check out the Wayzata store to which the Maple Grove staff relocated to. They are kind, helpful, sincere and fun! Worth the drive to Wayzata, definitely skip Edina, unless you like being surrounded by overly pretentious, terrible people to remind yourself of how good a person you actually are. read more
