The overall quality of care appears poor, from the management team down to the nursing staff. It's heartbreaking that families with limited financial options may feel pressured to settle for an unsafe or neglectful environment simply because other options seem unattainable. When issues are reported, the problems tend ta persist for about a week before the level of service returns to a consistently low standard, Additionally, when my loved one reports an issue, the facility attempts to dismiss or deny it, making it seem as though he doesn't know what he's talking about or that the allegations aren't true. I have witnessed these concerns firsthand. f you must use this facility, please check in on your family member reaularly and believe them when they report problems Your firsthand verification is essential ta ensure their safety and well-being.

He had been in two other nursing facilities and Golden Acres was by far the best. He was always clean, there was no odor anywhere and there was always someone looking after him. I felt very comfortable knowing that he was so well taken care of. Even though the building might be older, it is clean and it is the care that the residents get that matter. The rest of the staff from admissions, reception, finance department were always so pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend Golden Acres. Toni A.

The combination of her personal gifts, professional training, skills, and experience make her an excellent person with whom to work: she is personable, knowledgeable, articulate, and flexible with exercises/treatments as needed. She really listens to clients (more and more a rarity), is attentive to what's going on with one's body during exercises (even when you don't know it) and points out needed improvements in form, placement, etc. One day she noticed that one of my legs looked a little longer than the other when doing an exercise and called me over to do some readjustment movements, something I can do on my own as well. It really helped. The clinic is run efficiently with the engaging and ever efficient Maggie at its helm. It may sound strange to say, but I am sorry when a course of treatment ends! One more thing to say: If you are looking for the big high tech clinics with lots of machines and equipment, this may not be the right place for you. What is of benefit is that every exercise Sylvia taught me in our sessions can easily be reproduced at home with aids that can be acquired from Target or Walmart. Highest accolades to Sylvia and Maggie!

He/she will help you every step of the way and make you feel very comfortable. The first time I went, I was very nervous because I know my limitations and was afraid they would push me too far. That was not the case at all. They respect what you are telling them and they make extra effort to make sure you are not in danger of harming yourself further by overexerting your limitations. They have aquatic therapy which is what I am currently using. The group that is usually there is small so you really get a lot of personal attention and support. I have a very good feeling that they are going to help me get to where I need to be! I can already tell that I have extra energy. I am excited about the future because they really give me hope!

Their specialized rehabilitation teaches the patient how to live life from a wheelchair. As terrible and as sad as an injury like this is, no one was in there moping. The positive energy that fills this hospital is amazing. It's truly incredible to see what a person can do with the right information. This rehabilitation center provides the patient with information that, while not hard, may have never been utilized. I give this place five stars because the staff, every one of them were sincere, positive, and accommodating. I have one exception. A doctor who seems to have fallen into a rut of repetition, unwilling to personalize his specific and unique authority. Dr. Lance Bruce. When questioned about a credible, however unique (to the patient) condition, he blew it off and was rather rude. I am not going to get into specifics, but my family has health care experience so we weren't just talking out of our respective you know whats. But since there is such minimal contact with this doctor, even if you are his patient, and since the real support comes from everyone else here, I still give this place an A+ for making such a terrible situation for someone into a manageable lifestyle. Family is also welcome at all times. Each patient has a weekly meeting about their progress in which their doctor, physical therapist, nurse, social worker, and family are in attendance.

Even the patients greeted me as they were connecting for a card game. Then I moved over to the Memory Care building. Jennifer in Marketing was explaining so many different ways to make residents feel at home in their new home. I was able to tour the model. From the large living area to the vert brightly lit closets, very resident friendly. And the bathroom has a heated tile floor. I thought about staying! All inclusive, excellent pricing and well worth the drive from anywhere in the Dallas area. I would have loved to have had this option for my Mama.

Anything less than 9 is acceptable but that's difficult to find in short or long term nursing and rehabilitation facilities. As a retired Army Nurse, I understand this. I thought I did my due diligence by using Google reviews, Yelp reviews, a list given by Medicare and the accepted facilities to consider by Medicare/Medicaid and United Healthcare. CHECK HOW MANY REVIEWS WERE GIVEN AS WELL AS WHAT WAS SAID. 5 REVIEWS IS NOT ENOUGH TO GO BY! My mother at 97 years of age is strong willed yet not demanding, has a will to continue living, does her best to maintain as much self care as possible but here, her emotional hopeful attitude and dignity and will were highly degraded which I had never seen before. She was broken. The only time she ever stated she wished the "LORD would take her". She was left to sit in feces for up to three hours out of a few times and daily, in her urine saturated diapers for hours, yes, hours. Repeated call button requests ignored, "I'll return" was hours later then treated poorly when she did get the issues addressed. Served meager amounts of poor quality food, all but two CNAs disrespectful, negligent, demeaning, negative, etc.. only two days of good physical rehabilitation care in two weeks. The times I tried to and connected to facility coordinators the problems were promised to be address but went unchanged. I'm filing a report to APS, HHS and Medicare. After her release from the hospital from a fall occurring at Le Reve my mother was placed at my second choice AVANTE Rehabilitation she is now receiving good quality care. Three days with just a few minor incidents. Update: The care at AVANTE in Irving was superior. Night and day comparison. Good food, empathetic caring staff. Two very minor incidents in two weeks that were addressed and handle positively.. Should my Mother need long term care, this will be the place if they have a place for her.

On my very 1st day the woman in the program (a group of them) began calling me names threatening to jump me. This continued to the next day and additional threats on how they were going to steal my belongings. When I reported to staff on the second day nothing was done even then. Mind you I was there less than 24hrs I asked for the director she (Misty) came and moved me dorms. Next morning I realized several items were stolen cigarettes, clothing, my make up was deliberately broken. Nothing still done about these woman bullying me. Staff members are untrained (I.E. med staff they have Medical Ass. giving out meds which is unethical and against nursing practices. They refused my psych meds twice and then doubled dosed me on my 3rd day causing a psychosis episode. I was walking around ominously not even knowing what was happening. I was sexually assaulted by a patient several times nothing was done. I brought it to director Stacy attention Ms. Milly attention and several RH house supervisors even writing up a grievances and the recourse was to kick me out of the program!!! This place is state funded they use It as a dictatorship program. Kieran the head director is racist, condescending, cruel, belittling patients that bring up concerns. She is quite dismissive and feels superior. She forces patients to clean entire facility in reward for phone calls to your family. While there and being bullied I cut myself in the parking lot in front of staff members Heather, Jasmin and 2 others. I had to do a suicide contract yet they still kicked me out hours later!!! I have copies of all of this. Im contacting the board of nursing as well as reporting to other agencies and getting an attorney. The mere fact of suicide attempt and serial harassment alone probably will have this place shut down. Do Not Go here if you require a state scholarship or have medicaid Medicare because you will be subject to this abuse.

The staff was exceptional, held meetings all day Monday - Friday and on Saturday and Sunday as well (just not as many). The mansion was clean, food was great...all done by clients. From what I can recall, the schedule was something like this: Monday - Friday 6AM was breakfast (cereal) & 1st Med Call 7:45AM was morning Meditation (basically roll call Mood, Affirmation Quote, etc) 8AM - 9AM was chores / cleanup 9AM - noon was meetings (AA, NA, CA and in house staff led meetings). Noon - Lunch prepared and served by clients 1PM - 5PM was meetings (AA, NA, CA and in house staff led meetings). 2PM was afternoon Med Call 5PM was dinner 8PM was evening Meditation 9PM was last Medication call, temperature check and snacks. 10:30PM was lights out. Saturday and Sunday we started later and had a hot breakfast on Sunday Morning. Sweet Tea and Coffee all day everyday. 7 smoke breaks a day, vapes are allowed and there is USUALLY community cigarettes. T.C.R.C. has TONS of movies, books for idle time, 2 large TVs downstairs with Internet access on them so the staff allowed us to play YouTube music on 1 of the TVs (Group Room) while the other TV usually had sports or News on it (Boring). So we were jamming out Metallica, Pearl Jam, etc. during idle times. The kitchen also has a radio so the clients would be jamming out 97.1 The Eagle rock while preparing meals which added to the kewlness. Turtle Creek Recovery Center is NOW an ALL male facility except for Staff. There is 1 restroom downstairs for client use, 1 Handicap room equipped for 2 with shower and restroom. There are 3 bathrooms on 2nd and 3rd floors with shower / tub and 1 handicap room on 2nd floor as well with private bathroom / shower / toilet. Typically 3 males are assigned to each room, the beds are very comfortable and 2 windows per room. I had a nice view of some trees overlooking the One Uptown Condos building. After a person has been there 3 - 4 weeks, the staff tries to assign a private room for that person which is really nice. I was there for Christmas 2020 and New Years 2021 and the staff hosted a WONDERFUL Christmas meal from Cowboy Chicken, had homemade dishes, we played all sorts of games (Christmas Bingo, Pin the nose of Reindeer, etc) and even gave us all really nice Christmas gifts (Knit hat, long wool socks and an Old Spice men's kit of Body Wash, Deodorant & Body Spray).
